OPTICAL FUNCTIONAL DEVICE
An optical functional device includes a package case accommodating an optical functional element, an input optical fiber, and an output optical fiber. The optical functional device includes a first reflecting surface that reflects input light output from the input optical fiber to an optical path of output light, a second reflecting surface that reflects the input light to the optical functional element, and a third reflecting surface that reflects the output light in a direction in which the output light becomes further away from an optical axis of the input optical fiber. An optical axis of a leaked light beam transmitted through the second reflecting surface after being reflected by the first reflecting surface or an extension line of the optical axis in an optical propagation medium does not include a portion that is aligned with an optical axis of the output light reflected by the third reflecting surface.
OPTICAL COMMUNICATION CONNECTOR, OPTICAL TRANSMITTER, OPTICAL RECEIVER, OPTICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION CABLE
[Object] To provide an optical communication connector, an optical transmitter, an optical receiver, an optical communication system, and an optical communication cable that make it possible to prevent reduction in communication quality at low cost. [Solving Means] An optical communication connector according to the present technology is capable of spatial optical coupling, and the optical communication connector includes a first lens and a second lens. The first lens magnifies light emitted from a light emitter. The second lens shapes light incident from the first lens and outputs the shaped light.
Variable light source
A light source includes features configured to compensate for discontinuous solid state sources. The light source can produce a wide color gamut in display, and improved color rendering of tissue under observation by phosphor gap filling with colored LEDs. The light source can include provisions to depart from a white light spectrum to heighten differences in anatomical features or functions. The light source can include provisions to introduce narrow-band solid-state sources for producing false-color and pseudo-color images, with variable color rendering to change the power spectral distribution and to compensate for fiber optic length and fiber optic diameter tip sensing.
FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR DUST CAP AND RELATED METHOD
A fiber optic dust cap is provided for a fiber optic connector having a connector housing and a ferrule extending therefrom and terminating at a ferrule end face. The fiber optic dust cap includes a hollow body including a front end, a rear end, and, a bore extending therebetween. At least a first portion of the bore extends along a longitudinal axis and is configured to receive the connector housing, and at least a second portion of the bore is configured to be radially spaced apart from the ferrule. The fiber optic dust cap also includes a transparent window positioned over the bore and configured to be longitudinally spaced apart from the ferrule when the connector housing is received by at least the first portion of the bore. A method of inspecting a ferrule end face through the dust cap is also disclosed.
LIGHT GUIDE OR IMAGE GUIDE COMPONENTS FOR DISPOSABLE ENDOSCOPES
The disclosure relates to diagnostic, surgical, and/or therapeutic devices for being introduced into the human or animal body or for in vitro examination of human or animal blood samples or other body cells, in particular to an endoscope or a disposable endoscope that includes at least one illumination light guide and/or image guide for transmitting electromagnetic radiation, the illumination light guide or image guide having a proximal end face for incoupling or outcoupling of electromagnetic radiation and a distal end face for incoupling or outcoupling of electromagnetic radiation. The proximal and/or distal end faces consist of plastic elements that are transparent at least partially or in sections thereof, the transparent plastic being biocompatible and/or having non-toxic properties to human or animal cell cultures for exposure durations of less than one day. This allows for the production of assemblies for disposable endoscopes, inter alia.
OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTION DEVICE FOR CONNECTING OPTICAL FIBER AND OPTICAL FIBER ASSEMBLY
An optical connection device includes an optical fiber, a first connection member which includes an inlet to which the optical fiber is connected and an outlet, a second connection member which includes an aperture connected to the outlet of the first connection member and to which light from the optical fiber is transmitted through the first connection member, and a first light transmission protection part which protects a tip of the optical fiber in the first connection member.
Functionalized optical lens and method of manufacturing
There is provided an optical lens having an optically transparent surface coated with transducers adapted to stimulate a stimulus signal in a sample, where the optical lens is adapted to enable an optical communication between an optical source from one side of the optically transparent surface and the transducers and the sample from another side of the optically transparent surface for enabling the optical source to conduct optical operations capturing both the transducers and the sample simultaneously during a stimulation process. There is also provided a method of manufacturing the optical lens.
