A protective tape including a polymer film and an adhesive layer disposed on the polymer film. The adhesive layer has a storage modulus at 20 C. of 30 KPa to 100 KPa, and a creep value of 100% to 800% when a load of 3 N is maintained for 2 hours at room temperature. Thus, the protective tape is capable of maintaining a high adhesion value with respect to a display device while minimizing damage to the adhesive layer.

An autonomous vehicle dual traffic controller device for detecting a second vehicle by a first vehicle, includes an outer array, the outer array having a plurality of light receiving-light transmitting lenses, the outer array positioned in an arcuate arrangement having at least one focal point and the outer array having at least two caution-colored lenses; and an inner array of optical fibers positioned inside the outer array and connecting lenses on one side of the device to lenses on the other side, the inner array positioned to receive light passing into the device through at least one lens and send that light out of the device through at least one different lens. A system to guide such vehicles is also included.

Optical assemblies including a spacer adhering directly to a substrate

This disclosure describes optical assemblies that can be fabricated, for example, using wafer-level processes. The process can include providing a wafer stack that includes an optics wafer, and molding spacers directly onto the surface of the optics wafer. The spacers can be molded, for example, using a vacuum injection technique such that they adhere to the optics wafer without adhesive.

Expanded beam array for fiber optics

An expanded beam fiber optic array connector includes a ferrule holding ends of optical fibers in a first ordered array. A plurality of lenses packaged into a unitary structure, formed of an optical grade material, different than a material used to form the ferrule, is attached to the ferrule. The lenses are arranged into a second ordered array matching the first ordered array of the ends of the optical fibers. The lenses of the expanded beam connector associated with transmit channels can be constructed with a prescription geared specifically for transmitting light, whereas the lenses of the expanded beam connector associated with receive channels can be constructed with a prescription geared specifically for receiving light.

Passive fiber coupler with UV windows

Embodiments herein describe a fiber array unit (FAU) configured to couple a photonic chip with a plurality of optical fibers. Epoxy can be used to bond the FAU to the photonic chip. However, curing the epoxy between the FAU and the photonic chip is difficult. As such, the FAU can include one or more optical windows etched into a non-transparent layer that overlap with epoxy wells in the photonic chip. Moreover, the FAU may include a transparent substrate on which the non-transparent layer is disposed that permits UV light to pass therethrough. As such, during curing, UV light can be pass through the transparent substrate and through the optical windows in the non-transparent layer to cure the epoxy disposed between the FAU and the photonic chip.

Optical connecting structure

An optical connection structure 1 includes a waveguide substrate; a Si waveguide formed on one surface of the waveguide substrate and having a first end surface; an optical fiber having a second end surface facing the first end surface; a terrace section extending further toward the optical fiber side from an end portion on the optical fiber side of the waveguide substrate; and a lens disposed on the terrace section, and arranged on an optical axis connecting the first end surface and the second end surface.
