In a display device, a light amount of laser light directed from an optical filter to a combiner is controlled through control of a temperature of a light source using temperature dependence of a wavelength of the light source. Further, in the display device, since the adjustment of the light amount is performed using the temperature dependence of the wavelength of the light source instead of adjusting a power supply voltage of the light source.

Apparatus and method for displaying three-dimensional image
Disclosed is an apparatus and method for displaying a three-dimensional (3D) image. A 3D display apparatus includes an optical layer including a plurality of optical elements, a projector configured to scan a light onto the optical layer, and a processor configured to control a timing at which the projector scans the light onto the optical layer and generate a 3D image in a viewing space based on the timing at which the light is scanned onto the optical layer.
COMPACT OPTICAL MODULE
An optical package includes a beam combiner that combines laser light from a laser unit into a single laser beam, a movable mirror apparatus, and a fixed folding mirror which reflects the single laser beam toward the movable mirror apparatus. Beam equalizer optics cause increase of a slow axis divergence rate of the single laser beam such that its slow axis divergence rate is equal to its fast axis divergence rate. The movable mirror apparatus directs the single laser beam through an exit window. The beam equalizer optics include at least one negative spherical lens shaped such that a slow axis divergence rate of incident light is increased but a fast axis divergence rate of incident light is unaltered.
OPTICAL MODULE
An optical module includes a light-forming unit to form light. The light-forming unit includes a base member having an electronic temperature control module, a base plate, a plurality of submounts, and a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) base.
The light-forming unit also includes a plurality of laser diodes arranged on the submounts, a filter arranged on the base plate and located to receive the light emitted from the plurality of laser diodes and multiplex the emitted light, a MEMS arranged on the MEMS base and located to receive the light multiplexed by the filter. The MEMS includes a scanning mirror to scan the light multiplexed by the filter, and the electronic temperature control module regulates a temperature range of the MEMS. The light-forming unit also includes a protective member surrounding and sealing the light-forming unit, which includes a base body and a lid welded to the base body.

Provided is a light source device, including: a laser generation unit configured to output laser light; a light modification element disposed in a light guide unit or between the light guide unit and a homogenizing unit and configured to cause an angular distribution of the laser light uniform and continuous; the light guide unit, configured to receive the laser light output by the laser generation unit and guide the laser light to the homogenizing unit; and the homogenizing unit, configured to receive the laser light from the light guide unit, and homogenize and output the laser light.
LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR EMITTING LIGHT
A light-emitting device, having a laser light device that is designed to emit a multiplicity of laser light beams. Ellipticities of beam cross-sections of the laser light beams differ at least partly from one another. The light-emitting device includes a beamforming device that is introduced into the beam path of at least one of the laser light beams and that is designed to adapt the ellipticities of the beam cross-sections of the laser light beams to one another, and a beam-combining device that is designed to combine the laser light beams to form an overall light beam, after the adapting of the ellipticities of the beam cross-sections by the beamforming device.
Optical scanning device, image forming apparatus including optical scanning device, and optical scanning method
An optical scanning device according to the present invention has a 2-beam type first laser diode and a 1-beam type second laser diode. When resolution in a sub-scanning direction is 600 dpi, exposure processing is executed by a first laser beam and a second laser beam emitted from the first laser diode. And when the resolution in the sub-scanning direction is 1200 dpi, the exposure processing is executed by the first laser beam and a third laser beam emitted from the second laser diode.

The invention relates to a laser projector for presenting an image on a waveguide plane. The projector comprises a laser source (10, 10A, 10B, 10C) capable of emitting a polychromatic light beam (11) or a plurality of narrow-wavelength light beams (11A, 11B, 11C), and a guidance element (12A, 12B) for directing light emitted by the light source to different pupils (16A, 16B, 16C) of the waveguide plane, the different pupils being displaced with respect to each other in the waveguide plane.
