ESOPHAGEAL STENT INCLUDING A VALVE MEMBER

An example medical device is disclosed. The example medical device includes a tubular scaffold. The scaffold includes a longitudinal axis, an inner surface and an outer surface. The medical device also includes a flexible valve extending radially inward from the inner surface of the scaffold. The valve includes an annular chamber extending circumferentially around the inner surface of the scaffold and is configured to shift from a closed configuration to an open configuration.

Stent

In one embodiment according to the present invention, a stent is described having a generally cylindrical body formed from a single woven nitinol wire. The distal and proximal ends of the stent include a plurality of loops, some of which include marker members used for visualizing the position of the stent. In another embodiment, the previously described stent includes an inner flow diverting layer.

Stent and stent delivery device

The distal and proximal ends of the stent include a plurality of loops, some of which include marker members used for visualizing the position of the stent. In another embodiment, the previously described stent includes an inner flow diverting layer.

TRANSCATHETER HEART VALVE APPARATUS FOR CALCIFIC MITRAL STENOSIS
20200008936 · 2020-01-09 ·

Examples of a mitral heart valve apparatus are described. In one example, the apparatus has an annular body made of a first material, and a plurality of first anchor members and at least two paddles made of a second material extending from the annular body. In a compressed state, the first anchor members extend substantially longitudinally from the first end of the annular body, and GC the paddles extend substantially longitudinally from the second end of the annular body. In an expanded state, the annular body has a larger diameter, the first anchor members extend outward from the first end for engaging an upstream portion of a mitral valve annulus to resist displacement of the annular body towards a left ventricle, and the paddles extend outward from the second end for engaging

This disclosure provides for a medical device to be implanted in the vasculature and a method for treatment in the vasculature. The device has an outer layer of a first material and an inner layer of a second material attached to the outer layer. The inner layer further has a plurality of elastomeric tensioners. If the device experiences relaxation, resulting in a decreased radial force against the vessel wall, the elastomeric tensioners may provide a contraction force to the inner layer and the outer layer, resulting in a maintained radial force on the vessel wall.

Multi-walled placeholder

A placeholder for vertebrae or vertebral discs includes a tubular body, which along its jacket surface has a plurality of breakthroughs or openings for over-growth with adjacent tissue. The placeholder includes at least a second tubular body provided with a plurality of breakthroughs and openings at least partially inside the first tubular body. The first and second tubular bodies can have different cross-sectional shapes, can be are arranged inside one another by press fit or force fit or can be connected to each other via connecting pins and arranged side by side to one another in the first body.

Implant for cartilage repair
10470885 · 2019-11-12 · ·

A medical implant for cartilage repair at an articulating surface of a joint includes a contoured, substantially plate shaped, implant body and at least one extending post. The implant body has an articulate surface configured to face the articulating part of the joint and a bone contact surface configured to face the bone structure of a joint, where the articulate and bone contact surfaces face mutually opposite directions and the bone contact surface is provided with the extending post. A cartilage contact surface connects the articulate and the bone contact surfaces and is configured to contact the cartilage surrounding the implant body in a joint. The cartilage contact surface has a coating that substantially only includes a bioactive material.

Apparatus for use in repairing mitral valves and method of use thereof

Apparatus for repairing a heart valve and methods for implanting anchors and repairing a heart valve are provided. The apparatus comprises a body, a member attached to the body at a first end and having a plurality of positioning cords spaced laterally across the member and extending away from a second end of the member opposed to the first end, a tube suspended from the plurality of positioning cords, and an adjustment cord extending through the tube. The method comprises implanting at least one annular anchor in a mitral annulus of the heart valve, implanting a papillary anchor through each papillary muscle of the heart, delivering and positioning an apparatus for repairing a heart valve inside the heart valve using the at least one annular anchor and the papillary anchors, and adjusting the apparatus to adjust the extent of atrial displacement of the heart's mitral leaflets during ventricular contraction.
