Orientable intracranial occlusion device and method
An orientable intravascular device having a “twelve o'clock” marker on a proximal and distal end for treating an aneurysm, including a packaging catheter with an identical fixed non-round shaped inner lumen, a pusher wire having an occlusion device releasably disposed on the distal end of said pusher wire, preloaded at a fixed circumferential orientation, with corresponding markers on the outside of said packaging catheter, a hub having an inner lumen that is shaped to marry with the outer lumen of the packaging catheter to deliver a delivery wire and occlusion stent in a predicted orientation, and maintaining such orientation as the wire and stent are advanced through said delivery catheter, and while said delivery catheter is withdrawn. Methods of using same are disclosed.
Electrically assisted attachment of medical devices to thrombus
A medical device configured to perform an endovascular therapy can include an elongate manipulation member and an intervention member. The elongate manipulation member can include a distal end portion. The intervention member can include a proximal end portion and a mesh. The proximal end portion can be coupled with the distal end portion of the elongate manipulation member. The mesh can have a plurality of cells in a tubular configuration and being compressible to a collapsed configuration for delivery to an endovascular treatment site through a catheter and being self-expandable from the collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration. The mesh can include an anodic metal and a cathodic metal. The anodic metal and the cathodic metal can each form a fraction of a total surface area of the mesh.
MEDICAL DEVICES FOR USE ALONG THE BILIARY AND/OR PANCREATIC TRACT
Medical devices and method for making and using the same are disclosed. An example medical device may include implantable medical device for use along the biliary and/or pancreatic tract. The implantable medical device may include a tubular member having a first end configured to be disposed within the duodenum of a patient and a second end configured to be disposed adjacent to a pancreatic duct and/or bile duct. The tubular member may have a body including one or more wire filaments that are woven together. The tubular member may also have an outer surface with a longitudinal channel formed therein.
Method and device for treating eye disease
Described herein is a device for lowering intraocular pressure, the device comprising a plate structure comprising an upper surface opposite a lower surface, the plate structure formed from a multi-directional plate having a plate thickness ranging from about 1 nm to about 1,000 nm.
PROSTHESIS FOR INGUINAL HERNIA REPAIR
The present invention relates to a prosthesis (1) for repairing an inguinal hernia defect comprising: a piece (2) of biocompatible material having a preformed three-dimensional shape, including: a first portion (3) forming a partial spherical cap surface (8) shaped and dimensioned so as to substantially conform to the shape of the anterior abdominal wall, a second portion (4) extending from an inferior edge of said first portion and forming a wavy-shaped wall (9), shaped and dimensioned so as to substantially conform to the shape of the psoas muscle, characterized in that said piece (2) further comprises: a third portion (5) forming an arched part (10) extending longitudinally in the inferior direction from a medial inferior corner (3a) of said first portion, said arched part extending radially substantially in the front direction, said third portion being intended to face the medial inferior area of the inguinal anatomy.
METHOD OF ASSEMBLING A PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE
A method of assembling a prosthetic heart valve comprises securing a suture loop having at least first and second windings to an outflow edge portion of an inner skirt. The first and second windings are arranged in a repeating pattern of figure-eight shape curves and each winding has a plurality of first sections attached to the outflow edge portion of the inner skirt and a plurality of second sections unattached to the inner skirt. The inner skirt is placed inside of an annular frame and the second sections of the first and second windings are placed over apices of an outflow end of the frame such that the second sections of the first and second windings reside outside of the frame. The second sections of the windings are inserted inwardly through openings in the frame and attached to selected locations on the inner skirt.
Gender-specific mesh implant with barrier for inguinal hernia repair
Disclosed herein are gender-specific implantable mesh for inguinal hernia repair in a patient, comprising: a fabric layer comprising a side defining a surface area wherein the fabric layer is configured to enable tissue adhesion to said mesh; an anti-adhesive barrier comprising a shape configured to prevent direct contact between the fabric layer and both a spermatic cord and a genital nerve upon implantation, wherein the shape covers a part of the surface area on the side of the fabric layer, the part being less than 25%, and wherein the shape is oblique to a horizontally-oriented centerline and a vertically-oriented centerline; and a keyhole configured to fit the genital nerve and the spermatic cord of the patient therethrough without constriction, wherein the keyhole is oblique and inferior to a horizontally-oriented centerline and medial to a vertically-oriented centerline.
