IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus controls the number of rotations of a photosensitive drum based on information related to the use of the photosensitive drum and a suspension time in a rotation operation of rotating the photosensitive drum after a lapse of the suspension time between a first image forming operation of forming an image on a transfer material and a second image forming operation performed after the first image forming operation.

On the side surface portion, an image carrier holding portion is formed that performs positioning of the image carrier with respect to the unit frame and releases a pressure contact state between the image carrier and the first cleaning member.
Charging device and image-forming apparatus capable of preventing an inward inclining of bearing members
A charging device includes: a charging roller to charge a surface of the image carrier by rotating in contact with an image carrier; a cleaning roller to clean a surface of the charging roller by rotating in contact with the charging roller; a bearing to hold the charging roller and the cleaning roller so that a distance between an axis of the charging roller and an axis of the cleaning roller is constant; and a biaser to apply a biasing force to the bearing in a direction to bring the charging roller into press contact with the image carrier, wherein the bearing has a first bearing to support the axis of the cleaning roller and a second bearing to support the axis of the charging roller, and the first bearing is disposed inward from the second bearing in a roller axial direction of the cleaning roller and the charging roller.
Charging device, image forming unit, image forming apparatus, and method of manufacturing cleaning member
A charging device includes a charging member that is rotatable and contacts and electrically charges a surface of a charging target member; and a cleaning member that is rotatable and cleans a surface of the charging member, wherein the cleaning member includes a core bar extending in a lengthwise direction, a foam member that is helically wound around the core bar while forming a gap in the lengthwise direction and contacts the charging member, and a first adhesive agent that is provided between the foam member and the core bar, the first adhesive agent contacting a part of the foam member and another part of the foam member that are formed to adjoin each other in the lengthwise direction via the gap.
Cleaning device for cleaning a discharge wire, charger, and image forming apparatus
A cleaning device cleans a discharge wire that discharges electric charge onto a discharge target. The cleaning device moves in a longitudinal direction oldie discharge wire. The cleaning device includes a first contact portion that contacts and cleans the discharge wire and a second contact portion that contacts and cleans the discharge wire. When the first contact portion and the second contact portion clean the discharge wire, the first contact portion and the second contact portion sandwich the discharge wire in a discharge direction in which the discharge wire discharges the electric charge onto the discharge target. The discharge direction is parallel to a radial direction of the discharge wire.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND CARTRIDGE
An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member, a charging member for charging the photosensitive member, a cleaning member that comes into contact with the charging member and moves relative to the charging member to clean the charging member, an opening/closing member for exposing an inside of the apparatus, and a driving mechanism that moves the charging member and the cleaning member relative to each other in association with opening/closing of the opening/closing member.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a charging member, a development member, a transfer member, a charging voltage application unit, a development voltage application unit, and a control unit. The development member collects toner that remains on a surface of the image bearing member after a toner image is transferred from the image bearing member surface to transfer material. The control unit controls application of a development voltage to apply, to the development member in a cleaning operation, a development voltage having a polarity that is opposite to a normal polarity, and controls application of a charging voltage to apply, to the charging member, a charging voltage having the normal polarity such that a potential difference formed at a charging portion between the applied charging voltage and a surface potential formed at the image bearing member surface is lower than or equal to a discharge start voltage.
CHARGING DEVICE AND IMAGE-FORMING APPARATUS
A charging device includes: a charging roller to charge a surface of the image carrier by rotating in contact with the image carrier; a cleaning roller to clean a surface of the charging roller by rotating in contact with the charging roller; a bearing to hold the charging roller and the cleaning roller so that a distance between an axis of the charging roller and an axis of the cleaning roller is constant; and a biaser to apply biasing force to the bearing in a direction to bring the charging roller into press contact with the image carrier, wherein the bearing has a first bearing to support the axis of the cleaning roller and a second bearing to support the axis of the charging roller, the first bearing is disposed inward from the second bearing in a roller axial direction of the cleaning roller and the charging roller.
MOVABLE MEMBER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A movable member includes a frame, a mounting portion, a rotatable image bearing member, a charging member, and a cleaning member. The cleaning member includes a base portion including a first surface positioned on one side of the frame, a second surface positioned on the other side of the frame, and a third surface, and includes a projected portion. The projected portion includes a first side surface positioned on the aforementioned the other side and a second side surface positioned on the aforementioned one side. The first side surface is positioned between the first surface and the second surface. The first side surface constitutes an end surface of the projected portion on the aforementioned the other side with respect to the axial direction, and the second side surface constitutes an end surface of the projected portion on the aforementioned one side with respect to the axial direction.
Image forming apparatus that controls transfer current in a case in which a second toner image is transferred to a same recording material as a first toner image
In an image forming apparatus, in a case in which a second toner image to be transferred to a same recording material as a first toner image is to be transferred is formed on the photosensitive member after the first toner image is formed on the photosensitive member and the first toner image is formed on an area of the photosensitive member including at least a part of a position of the second toner image one cycle before with respect to a movement direction of the surface of the photosensitive member, a control unit changes a value of a transfer current at a time of transferring the first toner image to a transfer-receiving member between a first value and a second value of which an absolute value is greater than an absolute value of the first value, based on image information regarding the second toner image.
