Intervertebral implant with integrated fixation
A surgical instrument and method are provided for removal of a spinal implant from the intervertebral disc space. The instrument includes a carriage body for interfacing with the implant, a housing for interfacing with the vertebrae, and a handle portion having a first portion rotatably coupled with a proximal end of the housing and a second portion rotatably engageable with a proximal attachment portion of the carriage body. A central passage of the housing extends between the proximal end and a distal engagement surface of the housing. The central passage is dimensioned to mate with the carriage body. Rotation of the handle portion about an axis causes translational movement of the carriage body along the axis. A modular inserter/distractor apparatus and method and an anchor remover and method are also provided.
IMPLANT TETHER TENSIONING AND LOCKING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A locking system for transcatheter annuloplasty may be provided with an implantable lock body, a movable member configured to be slidably received in a lock body slot, a tether abutting portion, a coupling element located on a proximal portion of the lock body, a pull wire having a coupling member configured to detachable mate with the coupling element, a flexible catheter configured to slidably receive a portion of the pull wire, and a collar located on a distal portion of the catheter and configured to slidably receive the lock body. The pull wire and the catheter may be pushed together in a distal direction to advance the lock body along a tether, and the pull wire may be pulled in a proximal direction relative to the catheter to move the movable member towards a locked position and lock the tether to the lock body. Methods of use are also provided.
A2 Clip for Side-Delivered Transcatheter Mitral Valve Prosthesis
The invention relates to an A2 clip for a side-delivered prosthetic mitral valve where the A2 clip is extended using a guide wire to capture native mitral leaflet and/or chordae tissue and withdrawing the guide wire contracts the A2 clip and pins the native tissue against the subannular sidewall of the prosthetic valve.
Transcatheter heart valve with plication tissue anchors
The invention relates to a transcatheter heart valve replacement (A61F2/2412), and in particular a device and method for percutaneous annular plication and heart valve deployment for mounting a pressure actuated flow control sleeve, a pinch valve, as a replacement device for a heart valve, whereby the prosthesis has an atrial annular flange or cuff having one or more integral plication tissue anchors for engaging the valve annulus, wherein the is a reciprocating mechanical member that is compressed by pressurized working fluid within the heart during ventricular systole.
SUTURE LOCKING DEVICES FOR PERFORMING TENSIONABLE KNOTLESS SURGICAL PROCEDURES
Systems and methods are provided for performing tensionable knotless surgical procedures. A suture locking device that includes a one-way locking mechanism may be utilized for tensioning and locking one or more strands of suture during the surgical procedure. The one-way locking mechanism may be established by one or more locking barbs of the suture locking device.
Intervertebral Implant With Integrated Fixation
A surgical instrument and method for inserting a spinal implant in the intervertebral disc space between two adjacent vertebrae and an anchor engageable with the implant and an adjacent vertebra are provided. The instrument includes an inserter having an engagement portion including a distal engagement surface for interfacing with the implant and a handle portion. The engagement portion includes a track for slidably translating the anchor toward the engagement surface. A kit is provided including the inserter and a tamp to force the anchor into engagement with the implant and the adjacent vertebra. The kit may also include a cutter for piercing the adjacent vertebra.
Prosthetic heart valve device and associated systems and methods
The present technology is a prosthetic heart valve device, and related systems and methods, for treating a native valve of a human heart having a native annulus and native leaflets. One embodiment comprises a valve support having an inflow region and an outflow region, and a prosthetic valve assembly within the valve support. The device further includes an anchoring member having a base attached to the outflow region of the valve support, a plurality of arms projecting laterally outward from the base and inclined in an upstream direction in a deployed state, and a fixation structure extending upstream from the arms. The fixation structure has a plurality of struts that define an annular engagement surface configured to press outwardly against the native annulus and a plurality of fixation elements projecting from the struts. The downstream-most portion of the fixation structure extends from the arms at a smooth bend, and fixation elements at the downstream-most portion of the fixation structure extend in an upstream direction.
Systems and methods for securing and releasing a portion of a stent
The present embodiments provide systems and methods for deploying at least a portion of a stent, comprising a retaining member having a main body. At least one slot is formed into the main body. The at least one slot comprises a circumferentially enclosed segment and an axial opening. A portion of a stent is restrained from moving radially outward when disposed within the circumferentially enclosed segment, and the portion of the stent is self-expandable radially outward when aligned with the axial opening.
Prosthetic devices for semicircular canal defects
This disclosure features elongated prosthetic devices that can be used to repair, e.g., resurface or occlude, a defect of a semicircular canal, e.g., a superior semicircular canal dehiscence, as well as methods of making and using these devices. For example, the devices can be made using three-dimensional (3D) printing.
