A belt deviation correction device for correcting a deviation of an endless belt wound around a plurality of rollers includes a pressing roller that is pressed from outside the endless belt wound around the plurality of rollers. The pressing roller is configured to swing in such a way as to be inclined with respect to the plurality of rollers. A deviation of the endless belt in a direction of an axis of rotation of the plurality of rollers is corrected by swinging the pressing roller.

An edge regulating member provided in a belt rotation device that tensions a belt via a belt tensioning roller and rotates the belt in a rotation direction includes a body that comes into contact with an inner surface of the belt and a regulating portion that extends, at a position adjacent to the body, further outward in a radial direction of the belt tensioning roller than the body, and comes into contact with an edge of the belt. Tension of the belt acting on the body while the inner surface of the belt is in contact with the body causes the regulating portion to tilt, turned outward in the rotation axis direction from a fold-back portion of the belt toward an upstream side in the rotation direction.
BELT CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An inadvertent swing of a steering roller is restricted with a versatile configuration. A belt conveying device includes a belt member configured to be stretched around a steering roller and a roller member, and a movement mechanism configured to move the roller member. The roller member is movable to a first position and a second position where the roller member is moved further inward on an inner peripheral side of the belt member than the first position by the movement mechanism. In the movement mechanism, a restriction portion capable of restricting a swinging range of the steering roller more in a case where the roller member is at the second position than in a case where the roller member is at the first position is provided.

A fixing device includes: a fixing belt with no ends configured to stretch rotatably; a heating unit configured to heat the fixing belt; a fixing member disposed outside the fixing belt and configured to be in contact with the fixing belt by pressurizing; a pressing member disposed inside the fixing belt and configured to press the fixing member with the fixing belt involved; and a lubricant supply unit configured to supply a lubricant to the inner periphery of the fixing belt so as to supply the lubricant between the pressing member and the fixing belt, wherein the lubricant supply unit is disposed inside the fixing belt, configured to hold the lubricant, and includes a holding unit provided with a lubricant ejection port having a longitudinal shape and extending along a width direction of the fixing belt.
BELT CONVEYANCE APPARATUS
A stretching roller for stretching an intermediate transfer belt is tiltably disposed, and includes a sliding ring unrotatably disposed at both axial ends of a roller portion. The intermediate transfer belt winds and slidably rotates around the sliding ring. The sliding ring has a tapered portion inclined so that the outer diameter increases toward the axial end side of the stretching roller. The tapered portion is formed so that the inclination angle with respect to the central axis of the stretching roller differs at least in part in the circumferential direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image transfer unit configured to transfer an image formed on an image carrier to a sheet, according to a transfer control parameter, and a transfer control unit. The transfer unit is configured to set the transfer control parameter to a first value when a first portion of the image is being transferred to a first area of the sheet and to a second value when a second portion of the image is being transferred to a second area of the sheet transfers an image formed on an image carrier to a sheet.

A belt control device includes a holder to movably support a rotation shaft of at least one of the plurality of rotators around which a belt is looped, a contact part to contact an end of the belt as the belt moves in a belt width direction, a stationary frame part disposed facing the holder, a shaft moving device to move the rotation shaft as the belt moves, and at least one projection disposed on one of the stationary frame part and the holder. The projection is to contact the other of the stationary frame part and the holder. The projection includes a long projection having a contact portion extending in a shaft moving direction in which the rotation shaft moves, and the contact portion is contactable with the other of the stationary frame part and the holder.
Position detection apparatus that detects position of target object
A position detection apparatus detects a position of a target object. One end of a swinging member contacts the target object, and the other end contacts a moving member. (M+1) pieces of sensors are arranged to output signals corresponding to a position of the moving member. Measured parts are disposed on the moving member along loci of measuring positions of the sensors. A detection unit detects the position of the target object based on the output signals of M pieces of sensors when the other sensor outputs a predetermined signal. The measured parts corresponding to the other sensor are provided in 2.sup.M pieces of divided areas that are disposed along a locus corresponding to the other sensor. Each of the measured parts corresponding to the other sensor is disposed in a center portion except both ends in the moving direction in each of the divided areas.
TRANSFER UNIT AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCLUDING SAME
A transfer unit includes an endless belt member, belt support rollers, a frame, a meandering detecting sensor, an alignment adjusting mechanism, and a conveyance guide disposed on a downstream side of the belt member with respect to a recording-medium conveyance direction. The alignment adjusting mechanism, based on a detection result of the meandering detecting sensor, causes one end portion of a downstream-side belt support roller of the belt support rollers which is adjacent to the conveyance guide to move along the recording-medium conveyance direction. The alignment adjusting mechanism causes a first end portion of the conveyance guide disposed on a same side as the one end portion of the downstream-side belt support roller to move following movement of the one end portion of the downstream-side belt support roller, and thereby maintains a distance between the belt member and the conveyance guide constant.
BELT ROTATING DEVICE, TRANSFER DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A belt rotating device includes: a meandering correction roller that is rotatably supported within a support frame and is one of a plurality of rollers that stretch an endless belt; a supporting portion that is provided at the support frame and supports a rotating shaft of the meandering correction roller so as to be able to incline the rotating shaft of the meandering correction roller in a one direction; a collar member that is provided on the rotating shaft of the meandering correction roller, contacts the side end of the endless belt in which meandering has occurred, and moves in an axial direction; and an inclination guide portion that is supported by the support frame and has an inclined surface downward and inclined with respect to the shaft of the meandering correction roller, in a position in which the contact portion of the collar member contacts the inclination guide portion.
