An image forming apparatus forms a stable image on a recording material by using toner containing a release agent. A toner image can be formed on the recording material using a fixer, and a reverse transport path arranged on a downstream side of the fixer can reverses and transports the recording material after fixing. A reverse roller provided on the reverse transport path can reverse and send out the recording material by reversely transporting the recording material. A transporter can be provided between the fixer and the reverse roller on the reverse transport path, and a release agent remover removes the release agent adhering to the reverse roller. In embodiments, the transporter can include a release agent adhesion preventer that prevents the release agent from adhering to the transporter.

A transfer unit includes a reading unit to read an image on a sheet conveyed along a conveyance path, a first signal transmission member having a flat shape and is connected to the reading unit, and a relay member connected to the first signal transmission member. The relay member relays a signal from the first signal transmission member, and a second signal transmission member having a round shape and is connected to the relay member. The second signal transmission member leads into an apparatus body from an inner portion of the transfer unit in an axial direction of a first rotation shaft.

A transfer unit includes a reading unit to read an image on a sheet conveyed along a conveyance path, a first signal transmission member having a flat shape and is connected to the reading unit, and a relay member connected to the first signal transmission member. The relay member relays a signal from the first signal transmission member, and a second signal transmission member having a round shape and is connected to the relay member. The second signal transmission member leads into an apparatus body from an inner portion of the transfer unit in an axial direction of a first rotation shaft.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device; a fixing device; a first conveyance passage downstream from the fixing device in a sheet conveyance direction; a second conveyance passage downstream from the fixing device and communicating with the first conveyance passage; a sheet reversing member to reverse a conveyance direction of the sheet to the second conveyance passage; a divider to switch a route of the sheet between the first conveyance passage and the second conveyance passage; and a sheet detection sensor disposed downstream from the fixing device and upstream from the divider. The first conveyance passage includes a sheet outlet from which the sheet is ejected outside the apparatus. The apparatus further includes a ventilation passage communicating with an outside, to guide air from the outside to pass the sheet detection sensor and enter at least one of the first conveyance passage and the second conveyance passage.

An image forming apparatus includes a first casing including a transfer unit, a second casing including a fixing unit, and a third casing provided between the first casing and the second casing and including an intermediary feeding member. The first casing includes a first discharging port discharging a recording material with a toner image. The second casing includes a first receiving port receiving the recording material with the toner image. A height from an installing surface of the image forming apparatus to the first receiving port in a vertical direction is different from a height from the installing surface to the first discharging port. The intermediary feeding member of the third casing is provided obliquely in the vertical direction from a second receiving port receiving the recording material from the first discharging port to a second discharging port delivering the recording material to the first receiving port.

An image forming apparatus includes a transfer portion to transfer a toner image to a sheet, a fixing portion to fix the toner image, a reverse conveyance portion to perform a reverse conveyance operation in which the sheet is conveyed to a first direction and thereafter conveyed to a second direction that is opposite to the first direction, and a reverse guide configured to guide the sheet in the reverse conveyance operation. A conveyance guide pair forms a conveyance path through which the sheet subjected to the reverse conveyance operation passes, and guides the sheet toward the transfer portion, and an air blowing portion blows air toward the conveyance path. In addition, a ventilation portion is provided through which air blowing from the air blowing portion toward the reverse guide passes, the air having passed through the ventilation portion flowing along the reverse guide.

An image forming apparatus includes: a sheet conveyance unit which includes a sheet conveyance path and conveys a sheet; a sheet detector which detects the sheet in the sheet conveyance path; a job acquiring unit which acquires a print job related to the sheet; an image forming unit which forms an image on the sheet; and a processor which controls the sheet conveyance unit to perform one of first sheet conveyance and second sheet conveyance, the first sheet conveyance being performed to convey the sheet in accordance with sheet information, the second sheet conveyance being performed to convey the sheet and discharge the sheet to outside in accordance with a result of detection, wherein when sheet conveyance is resumed after suspension, the processor controls the sheet conveyance unit to perform the second sheet conveyance on a remaining sheet.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device; a fixing device; a first conveyance passage downstream from the fixing device in a sheet conveyance direction; a second conveyance passage downstream from the fixing device and communicating with the first conveyance passage; a sheet reversing member to reverse a conveyance direction of the sheet to the second conveyance passage; a divider to switch a route of the sheet between the first conveyance passage and the second conveyance passage; and a sheet detection sensor disposed downstream from the fixing device and upstream from the divider. An image forming apparatus includes a transfer portion configured to transfer a toner image to a sheet, a fixing portion configured to fix the toner image, a reverse conveyance portion configured to perform a reverse conveyance operation in which the sheet is conveyed to a first direction and thereafter conveyed to a second direction that is opposite to the first direction, a reverse guide configured to guide the sheet in reverse conveyance operation, a conveyance guide pair configured to form a conveyance path through which the sheet subjected to the reverse conveyance operation passes, and to guide the sheet toward the transfer portion, an air blowing portion configured to blow air toward the conveyance path, and a ventilation portion through which air blowing from the air blowing portion toward the reverse guide passes, the air having passed through the ventilation portion flowing along the reverse guide.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form a toner image on a recording material, a fixing unit configured to fix the toner image formed on the recording material by the image forming unit to the recording material, and a controller configured to cause the image forming unit to form an image on a basis of image information, the controller being configured to cause the image forming unit to form the image in which a first toner image and a second toner image is superimposed on each other on the recording material, the first toner image being a toner image corresponding to the image information, the second toner image being constituted by a pattern having anisotropy such that glossiness of the image changes depending on a direction in which the image is viewed.
