Adjustable Temperature Regulated Faucet
20170292251 · 2017-10-12 ·

A valve assembly for a faucet assembly includes a housing, a thermal motor and a sealing element. The housing includes a first inlet that receives water from a first source, a spout outlet in fluid connection with the first inlet, and a second inlet that receives water from a second source. The thermal motor is within the housing and imparts linear force in an axial direction. The sealing element is operably coupled to move in response to the imparted linear force, and is configured to engage a seating element to form a seal between the second inlet and the spout outlet. The seating element is disposed axially between the motor and the sealing element, and movement of the sealing element in the axial direction breaks the formed seal to allow fluid flow within the housing between the second inlet and the spout outlet.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL RESTRICTIVE VALVE
20170219113 · 2017-08-03 ·

A multifunctional restrictive valve for controlling the flow of water therethrough. The valve has a main body with a flow channel through the main body. The main body receives water upstream thereof through an inlet port and, passes it out through an outlet port at the downstream end of the body. A flow control assembly is located in the flow'channel and includes a temperature sensor/actuator acting on a piston to move, when the temperature sensor heats up the piston, to block water flow control ports. The flow control assembly also includes an override feature wherein the piston is located within a slide and the flow control ports are located in the slide. By moving the slide away from thepiston when the piston is blocking the flow control ports, the temperature sensor and piston may be overridden and flow may resume through the main body.

Thermostatic element

An element with a cup containing a thermally expanding material, a piston capable of translational movement along its axis, a rigid guide for guiding the piston, a seal for sealing in the thermally expanding material having an annular overall shape, centered on the axis and through which the piston passes axially, and which includes first and second opposite axial parts against which the guide and cup press respectively in an antagonistic manner to compress the seal around the piston, and an anti-extrusion washer mounted coaxially around the piston and axially interposed between the guide and first part of the seal. The first part of the seal around the piston can be supercompressed to make the degree of compression equal to a value strictly higher than that associated with an operational thermostatic element formed by the cup, piston, guide, seal and anti-extrusion washer assembled with one another without the supercompression.

Thermostat Valve

A thermostat valve is provided for a cooling system of an internal combustion engine. The thermostat valve includes a thermostat housing having engine-side and radiator-side coolant inlets that are opposed each other, a lateral coolant outlet leading to the internal combustion engine, and a valve disk. The valve disk has an end face that interacts with and faces a valve seat of the radiator-side coolant inlet. The valve disk lies between the radiator-side coolant inlet and a thermostat element arranged in the thermostat housing. The valve disk has a disk part and, at the outer edge of the disk part, a guiding element connected to the disk part and having a deflecting surface on its exterior side.

PASSIVE FLOW MODULATION OF COOLING FLOW INTO A CAVITY
20170191373 · 2017-07-06 ·

A passive flow modulation device according to an embodiment includes: a temperature sensitive element disposed within a first area; a piston coupled to the temperature sensitive element, the piston extending through a wall to a second area, wherein the first area is at a higher temperature than the second area; and a valve arrangement disposed in the second area and actuated by a distal end portion of the piston, the valve arrangement tangentially injecting a supply of cooling air through an angled orifice from the second area into the first area in response an increase in temperature in the first area.

SANITARY INSTALLATIONS AND SHOWER ASSEMBLY

A sanitary fixture (1), including a flow regulator unit (5) and a movable adjustment element (6) that adjusts a flow rate and has a control connection to a temperature-sensitive control element (8). The invention provides arranging a return spring (13) on a same side of the flow regulator unit (5) as the control element (8), with respect to the flow direction, and/or designing the control element (8) to assume at least one intermediate position.

THERMOSTAT STABILITY ENHANCEMENT VIA WAVY VALVE PLATE

A thermostat for use in the coolant passage of an internal combustion engine includes a valve seat and a valve plate with an elastomeric seal engaged with the valve seat in a closed condition and movable away from the valve seat in an open condition. The valve plate has a wavy surface disposed below the elastomeric seal that engages the valve seat, wherein the wavy surface is nonplanar with surface variations of at least 300 microns. The wavy valve plate creates a situation where the thermostat operates with two effective modes, a low flow regime for low load conditions where the valve is only traveling between 0 and approximately 1 mm while the wavy plate allows a low coolant flow and a high flow regime (valve fully open) for high engine load situations that require maximum cooling.

A water control valve may include a valve shell, and a control base is installed therein. A sliding block, a driving valve disc, and a fixed valve disc are sequentially stacked below the control base in the valve shell. A valve base is coupled at lower end of the valve shell to block and keep the fixed valve disc, the driving valve disc, the sliding block, and the control base in the valve shell. The valve base comprises an upper base and a lower base, and a water separator is formed therebetween. Both of the upper base and the lower base have the inner spaces to accommodate a temperature limiting member therein. The temperature limiting member has a first cap, a support sleeve, a temperature sensor, a water stop jacket, and a spring, and a balance valve is positioned between the lower base and water separator.
