AUXILIARY POWER CASE
An auxiliary power case can include a frame; a panel coupled to the frame, where the panel defines at least a portion of a recess; a rechargeable battery disposed at least in part in the recess; and a power interface operatively coupled to the rechargeable battery.
Hinge mounted wireless charging systems and methods
A wireless energy transfer system includes an electronic device having at least two members, each housing at least a portion of the electronic device pivotably coupled via a number of hinges. A hinge member is disposed proximate at least some of the number of hinges. At least one receiver coil may be disposed in, on, or about the hinge member. Removing the receiver coil from the members housing the electronic device advantageously permits thinning of the members and a beneficial reduction in height of the electronic device. A power supply may include a number of power supply coils disposed in, on, or about a power supply member. Some or all of the power supply coils may wirelessly couple to the at least one receiver coil via an electromagnetic field and transfer energy to the electronic device when the electronic device is disposed proximate the power supply.
Pre-cooling a battery energy storage system for charging or discharging
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for managing a temperature of a battery energy storage system (“BESS”). A method may comprise obtaining a charge/discharge schedule for a battery energy storage system (BESS) for a first time period; identifying, from the charge/discharge schedule, a charge or discharge time period of the BESS within the first time period; calculating a beginning time of a temperature control time period in which equipment operates to control a temperature of the BESS to reach a target temperature by a beginning time of the charge or discharge time period; and controlling the equipment operating to control the temperature of the BESS for the temperature control time period such that the temperature of the BESS reaches the target temperature by the beginning time of the charge or discharge time period.
Sliding electronic devices with translating flexible displays and electrochemical cell rollers
An electronic device includes a flexible display. A device housing provides a translation surface for the flexible display. A rotor positioned within a curvilinear section of the flexible display rotates with translation of the flexible display across the translation surface. The rotor can be a rechargeable electrochemical cell, can be a rechargeable electrochemical cell situated within a sheath, or can be positioned within a housing defining an outer surface of the rotor to save space within the electronic device.
REDOX BEHAVIOR IN A SOLID FERROELECTRIC GLASS ELECTROLYTE SYSTEM
Example implementations relate to novel battery designs based on the original disclosures of the Parent patent application Ser. No. 15/196,019. In a non-limiting embodiment, a first battery includes a ferroelectric glass electrolyte and a ferrocene Fe(C.sub.5H.sub.5).sub.2 molecule as a redox-mediator-relay material used for plating sodium on a current collector. Novel redox Fe(C.sub.5H.sub.5).sub.2 behavior is shown at a fixed (or a finite) voltage under discharge conditions. The disposed ferroelectric electrolyte material is predisposed to align itself in the direction of the electric field inside the battery, increasing the capacity of the battery. This description is not intended to be a complete description of, or to limit the scope of, the invention.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING SUPPORTING MEMBER
According to various embodiments of the disclosure, an electronic device may comprise: a foldable housing including a hinge structure comprising a hinge, a first housing connected to the hinge structure and including a first surface and a second surface spaced apart from the first surface and inclined at a first angle with respect to the first surface and a second housing connected to the hinge structure and including a third surface and a fourth surface spaced apart from the third surface, wherein in a folded state, the first surface faces the third surface and, in a fully unfolded state, a direction in which the first surface faces is identical to a direction in which the third surface faces, a first support disposed in the first housing and including a fifth surface inclined at a second angle different from the first angle with respect to the first surface, a first battery disposed on the fifth surface, and a display including a display panel extending from the first surface to the third surface and a display driving circuit disposed between the first surface and the first battery.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING A BATTERY AND A PROTECTION MODULE
An electronic device, in particular an electronic watch, including a case and an electronic system arranged within the case, the case being provided with a housing for a battery allowing supplying the electronic system with energy, wherein it includes a standalone endothermic protection module configured to be automatically triggered in the event of thermal runaway of the battery in order to absorb heat.
Electronic devices with multiple energy storage device charging circuits and corresponding methods
An electronic device included a first energy storage device coupled to a second energy storage device by a conductor. A charging node is coupled to the first energy storage device. Another conductor couples the charging node to the second energy storage device. A switch is electrically coupled between the conductor and the second energy storage device. A control circuit opens the switch, thereby allowing a first charging current to flow from the charging node to the first energy storage device through the conductor and a second charging current to flow from the charging node to the second energy storage device through the other conductor and closes the switch when a difference between a voltage of the first energy storage device and a voltage of the second energy storage device is within a predefined voltage difference threshold.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE WITH ELECTRICALLY COUPLING LOCK
In some examples, an electronic device includes an electronic component, a battery pack that is dockable to the electronic component, and a lock to lock a docked battery pack to the electronic device. In some examples, the lock is to move to a locked state in which the docked battery pack is to be locked to the electronic device and electrically coupled to the electronic component to power the electronic component using the docked battery pack and the lock is to move to an unlocked state in which the docked battery pack is to be unlocked from the electronic device and electrically isolated from the electronic component.
WEARABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING SPEAKER MODULE
