ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device of the present disclosure includes a body unit, and a keyboard unit disposed on the body unit. The keyboard unit includes a keyboard, a housing that has a frame shape and houses the keyboard, and a plurality of retainers connected to the housing to retain the keyboard. A plurality of retainers are formed of a material having a specific rigidity higher than that of the housing.
Configurable force-sensitive input structure for electronic devices
A configurable, force-sensitive input structure for an electronic device is disclosed. The input structure has a metal contact layer, a sense layer positioned below the metal contact layer, and a drive layer capacitively coupled to the sense layer. The input structure may also have a compliant layer positioned between and coupled to the sense layer and the drive layer, a rigid base layer positioned below the drive layer, and a set of supports positioned between the metal contact layer and the rigid base layer.
Covers for electronic devices
In example implementations, a cover for electronic devices is provided. The cover for electronic devices includes a first cover, a second cover, and a flexible spine coupled to the first cover and the second cover. The first cover includes a first folding groove. The second cover includes a second folding groove. The first cover folds in half along the first folding groove and the second cover folds against the second folding groove when the flexible spine is rotated into an open position.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
An information processing apparatus includes: a first chassis having a first surface provided with at least an air intake port; a second chassis which is connected to the first chassis in a relatively rotatable manner and has a second surface that overlaps the first surface of the first chassis by the rotation; a heat dissipation unit having a fan for replacing air in the first chassis with outside air through at least the air intake port; a state detection unit that detects whether a state is a first state in which the first surface and the second surface overlap; and a control unit which changes control of the fan according to whether the state is the first state.
System for a solid-state keyboard and touchpad with a single sheet cover for providing haptic feedback
A coversheet layer of an information handling system, comprising a coversheet having a key location of a haptic keyboard and a haptic touchpad area on a C-cover for the information handling system including a magnet or ferromagnetic insert in the coversheet for alignment to a top replaceable overlay layer magnetically attachable to the coversheet, a support layer, a contact foil placed between the coversheet and support layer, a piezoelectric element placed between the contact foil and support layer to receive an applied mechanical stress at the key location or touchpad actuation location of the coversheet and generate an electric actuation signal and a controller of the information handling system operatively coupled to the contact foil to receive the electric actuation signal and send an electrical haptic response signal to the piezoelectric element to cause the piezoelectric element to generate haptic feedback.
System for modified key actions and haptic feedback for smart typing assist with a solid-state keyboard and touchpad
A haptic keyboard of an information handling system comprising a coversheet to identify keys of the haptic keyboard, a contact foil and a piezoelectric element to receive an applied mechanical stress at a first key of the coversheet and generate an electric actuation signal. A processor executing instructions of a haptic smart typing assistance system to detect and anticipate a next letter of a word being typed and a controller to receive an instruction of the anticipated next letter and increasing force required actuate at least one key for a letter adjacent to the anticipated next letter, and to send a response haptic feedback control signal to the piezoelectric element to cause the piezoelectric element to generate a first haptic feedback at the first key if the anticipated next letter is selected and to generate a second haptic feedback if a typographical error is detected.
Keyboard with Touch Sensor and Illumination
A keyboard may be provided that has keys overlapped by a touch sensor. The keyboard may have key sensor circuitry for monitoring switching in the keys for key press input. The keyboard may also have touch sensor circuitry such as capacitive touch sensor circuitry that monitors capacitive electrodes in the touch sensor for touch sensor input such as multitouch gesture input. The keyboard may include an outer layer of fabric that overlaps the keys. The fabric may have openings that are arranged to form alphanumeric characters. Light sources may emit light that passes through the openings and illuminates the alphanumeric characters. The touch sensor may have signal lines that are not visible through the openings. The signal lines may be transparent, may be covered by a diffuser, or may circumvent the openings so that they do not overlap.
A SMART WEARABLE PRODUCT COMPATIBLE WITH FABRIC
A smart product used for tasks such as data collection and data transmission, etc. in the industry without restricting the movement of the user/operator includes at least one textile material which is completely or partially wearable by the user/operator, and which has a sensor thereon for data collection, at least one touch keypad which is provided on or under the upper surface of the textile material, and which is for enabling manual data entry for transmission of data collected via the sensor, a microcontroller which can sense touches on the keys and which is used for transmitting them outside via an electronic interface, at least one electronic card which is flexible and placed inside the textile material and which is for electrical communication between the microcontroller and the touch keypad.
ELECTRONIC APPARATUS
The electronic apparatus has: a flat-shaped main body chassis provided with a motherboard; a switch provided at an end portion of the motherboard; a button for pressing an actuator of the switch; a restriction section that restricts the button from rotating around a contact portion when the button presses the actuator; and a button opening formed in a side wall of the main body chassis at a position shifted to a higher level than the switch. The button includes: an operation section exposed through the button opening; an arm portion that extends to a position facing the actuator; and a fin piece that protrudes. The restriction section is provided in such a manner as to face the fin piece at a position vertically shifted to a lower level then the fin piece.
Ultrathin touchpad with lightguide
A touchpad assembly for an information handling system allows a user to select and switch between using the touchpad assembly as a touchpad to drag, drop, scroll and select items on a display and using the touchpad assembly as a numerical keypad to enter data for processing by the information handling system.
