Variable response key and keyboard
An electronic device can include a key and/or a keyboard system. In one embodiment, magneto-rheological materials are employed to provide a variable response keyboard of an electronic device.
CONFIGURABLE HOT KEYS FOR AN INPUT DEVICE OF AN INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM
Aspects of this disclosure implement at least one sensor in a user input device with an identifiable user input on an information handling system. A method may include receiving, by an information handling system, an indication that at least one sensor, located on an outward facing surface of a frame housing a user input device, is actuated; comparing, by the information handling system, the indication to an active profile configuration; and identifying, by the information handling system, the indication as an input based on the active profile configuration. Other aspects are also disclosed.
METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING CONTROL OF KEYS OF VIRTUAL KEYBOARD ON WIDE TOUCH SCREEN WITH TWO THUMBS
The present invention discloses a method for implementing control of keys of a virtual keyboard on a touch screen with two thumbs including conventional technical processes of arranging keys on a preset virtual keyboard according to a key layout and setting, and displaying the preset virtual keyboard and the keys on the touch screen according to the key arrangement of the preset virtual keyboard and corresponding setting and parameters. In this way, without changing the key layout of the preset virtual keyboard, the key position setting, and the current width of the virtual keyboard determined according to the current screen width, when the preset virtual keyboard is displayed and runs on the wide touch screen, the keys are at positions touchable by both thumbs of an operator.
FREE FORM USER-DESIGNED SINGLE-HANDED TOUCHSCREEN KEYBOARD
A user thumb-operated touchscreen keyboard design interface is provided by a processor on a touchscreen display of a handheld device that allows a user to create a user-designed thumb-operated touchscreen keyboard. User thumb gestures that specify two-dimensional (2D) range of motion limits of a thumb of the user are detected. A 2D keyboard boundary of the user-designed thumb-operated touchscreen keyboard is ergonomically tailored to the user's specific hand characteristics using the 2D range of motion limits of the thumb of the user as part of the user's personal keyboard design process. The user-designed thumb-operated touchscreen keyboard is implemented as a touchscreen display user input interface that controls inputs to the processor.
DETECTION OF LANE CONDITIONS IN ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEMS
Method and apparatus are disclosed for detection of lane conditions vehicles in adaptive cruise control systems. An example vehicle includes a communication module for V2V communication, a camera for capturing images, and a controller. The controller is to identify a vehicle type of a lead vehicle based upon the images and determine a lead vehicle speed. The controller also is to send, via the communication module, an alert to the lead vehicle responsive to determining the lead vehicle is a passenger vehicle and the lead vehicle speed is less than a speed setting for activated adaptive cruise control.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ARRANGING A KEYPAD IN WIRELESS TERMINAL
An apparatus and method for arranging a keypad in a wireless terminal, and more particularly, to an apparatus and method for arranging a keypad in a wireless terminal to conveniently perform a key input in the wireless terminal, the apparatus including: a display unit for displaying the keypad in at least one of a right and left side on a screen of the display unit in a horizontal mode of the wireless terminal; and a controller for controlling the display unit to display the keypad in the right and/or left side on the screen of the display unit in the horizontal mode of the wireless terminal.
ADJUSTABLE ERGONOMIC KEYBOARD
An adjustable keyboard having a number of keys is formed in at least two segments which are mutually movable relative-to one another using a hinge or joint. Each of the segments of the keyboard has mounted thereon some of the keys. The adjustable nature of the keyboard reduces stress and discomfort to the user by reducing contortion to the user's wrists. More particularly, discomfort to the user caused by pronation of the wrists and/or ulnar deviation of the wrists is reduced. The hinge or joint is in the form of a ball and socket-type joint with a locking mechanism, which preferably includes a pivoted handle, in the form of a lever, used for locking and unlocking the hinge or joint. The surface of at least one of the ball and socket of the joint define a plurality of recesses or a plurality of projections, to provide increased resistance to joint movement.
Keyboard set
A keyboard set may be provided on chair armrests. The keyboard set includes a left keyboard, a right keyboard, a first detachable support, a second detachable support, and two multidirectional angle adjusting mechanisms. Each of the left keyboard and the right keyboard includes a plurality of keys. One end of the first detachable support is combined with the left keyboard, and one end of the second detachable support is combined with the right keyboard. The two multidirectional angle adjusting mechanisms are respectively provided between the first detachable support and the left keyboard, and between the second detachable support and the right keyboard.
Keyboard Layout For Balanced Typing
The present invention discloses a unique ergonomic keyboard layout i.e. the REHAAN BSQ keyboard which can be utilized as an interface for entry of characters and data into electronic devices like computers, smartphones etc. which are operated with hands. The keyboard layout comprises of English alphabets, Roman numerals, and other symbols and characters. The keyboard layout is basically an alphabetically-arranged layout to facilitate use and access to the keys by users who have not yet developed proficiency with the standard QWERTY-style keyboards and could benefit from a design that utilizes both hands more effectively, therefore reducing the risk of stress-related injury. The alphabetically arranged layout has three rows wherein the upper-row comprises of BGPMW.CUFY,V, the home-row comprises of SNITLHEAORD, and the lower-row comprises of Q:;X{[?/}]KJZ|\. This unique keyboard layout provides a better usage of the left and the right hand while also balancing the usage of all fingers.
Free form user-designed single-handed touchscreen keyboard
A user thumb-operated touchscreen keyboard design interface is provided by a processor on a touchscreen display of a handheld device that allows a user to create a user-designed thumb-operated touchscreen keyboard. A set of user inputs to the user thumb-operated touchscreen keyboard design interface is detected in response to user thumb gestures on the touchscreen display. The set of user inputs include a user-specified outline on the touchscreen display of the user-designed thumb-operated touchscreen keyboard with boundaries within a range of motion of a thumb of the user, a group of different user-specified touchscreen input key locations and input key shapes of a group of user-specified touchscreen input keys within the user-specified outline, and user-specified touchscreen input key processor-input function assignments of the group of user-specified touchscreen input keys. The user-designed thumb-operated touchscreen keyboard is implemented as a touchscreen display user input interface to the processor.
