People suggester using historical interactions on a device

Systems and methods can suggest applications and/or recipients for a user of a computing device to perform communication. The suggestions can be provided on a user interface for a user to select. A suggestion engine can use historical user interactions that include a recipient, a communication application used to communicate with the recipient, and contextual data to determine which application and/or recipients to suggest. The user interactions may occur in a variety of ways, e.g., after a content object has been selected within a host application, where a communication application is selected thereafter. Multiple models may be used to provide the suggestions, such as a pattern model or a cluster model that uses recent user interactions. As another example, a heuristics model may also be used.

Digital jukebox device with improved user interfaces, and associated methods

Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems and, more particularly, to systems that incorporate digital downloading jukebox features and improved user interfaces. For instance, a smart search may be provided, e.g., where search results vary based on the popularity of songs within the venue, in dependence on songs being promoted, etc. As another example, a tile-based approach to organizing groupings of songs is provided. Groupings may involve self-populating collections of songs that combine centrally-promoted songs, songs in a given genre that are popular across an audiovisual distribution network, and songs that are locally popular and match up with the given genre (e.g., because of shared attributes such as same or similar genre, artist, etc.). Different tile visual presentations also are contemplated, as are different physical jukebox designs. In certain example embodiments, a sealed core unit with the “brains” of the jukebox is insertable into a docking station.

Software safety-locked controls to prevent inadvertent selection of user interface elements

A method includes displaying a user interface having a first region with one or more user interface elements and determining whether a shield is in a locked state or an unlocked state. The shield covers the first region when in the locked state and uncovers at least part of the first region when in the unlocked state. The method includes, in response to determining that the shield is in the locked state, displaying the shield covering the first region and disabling the user interface element(s). The method includes, in response to receiving user input on the shield while the shield is in the locked state, changing the shield to the unlocked state. Additionally, the method includes, in response to determining that the shield is in the unlocked state, displaying the first region such that the user interface element(s) is/are not covered by the shield and enabling the user interface element(s).

Methods, systems, and non-transitory computer readable storage media are disclosed for rendering portions of a three-dimensional environment at different sampling rates based on a focus frame within a graphical user interface. Specifically, the disclosed system provides a tool for marking a region of a graphical user interface displaying a three-dimensional environment. The disclosed system generates a focus frame based on the marked region of the graphical user interface and attaches the focus frame to a portion of the three-dimensional environment. The disclosed system assigns a first sampling rate to the portion of the three-dimensional environment displayed within the focus frame and a second sampling rate to portions of the three-dimensional environment outside the focus frame. The disclosed system renders the three-dimensional environment by sampling the portion within the focus frame at the first sampling rate and the portions outside the focus frame at the second sampling rate.
