TEXTILE MATERIALS WITH SPONTANEOUS EMISSION AND METHODS OF UV PROTECTION, SHADING, WARMING, AND OTHER APPLICATIONS USING SAME
20200060368 · 2020-02-27 · ·

Methods and associated light management system variously provide protection of at least UPF 50, a cooling effect, a shading effect, a warming effect and a source for a photovoltaic device. A textile material absorb incident spectrum including one or more of a UV wavelength, a visible wavelength, and a near infrared wavelength and spontaneously emits light having an emission spectrum including visible light radiation and near infrared radiation. The textile material and associated articles have a high degree of UV blocking property due to strong absorption in the UV range. In addition, the spontaneous emission releases most of the absorbed energy and, therefore, the textile material remains relatively cool under sunlight, the shading effect. Furthermore, the strong spontaneous emission allows for shielding properties even when the apparel is made from otherwise sheer knit or weave structure. Associated application methods and manufacture methods are also disclosed.

NECK SUPPORT WITH RADIATION PROTECTION
20200051705 · 2020-02-13 ·

A novel radiation-protective neck support which provides cervical support and radiation protection for the neck and thyroid of a user, said support comprises (i) a soft collar portion which comprises a soft, flexible supportive material structure and is leaded, and (ii) a thyroid shield portion which descends from the soft collar portion and is leaded. The thyroid shield portion can descend as a flap from the soft collar portion or it can attach in other ways to achieve the protection desired for the thyroid. During surgery, the radiation-protective neck support is worn by a user, with the soft collar portion surrounding the neck of the user, thereby providing anatomical support and also providing radiation protection for the neck. With the thyroid shield portion descending as a flap from the soft collar portion, it will overlay the thyroid of the user and thereby provide radiation protection for the thyroid.

A cloth structure includes a first weaving layer, a second weaving layer interwoven with the first weaving layer, an intermediate connecting layer located between the first weaving layer and the second weaving layer, and a sun protection layer applied on the first weaving layer. The cloth structure presents a single-cloth fabric. The sun protection layer covers pores of the first weaving layer and forms a first protection layer to filter the smog. The first weaving layer is formed with inverted V-shaped cloth patterns, so that the first weaving layer forms a second protection layer to filter the smog. The intermediate connecting layer forms a third protection layer to filter the smog. The second weaving layer obstructs the thread openings of the first weaving layer and forms a fourth protection layer to filter the smog.
