Image Forming Apparatus, and Recording Medium Therefor That Ensure Apparatus Operation without Separation of HDD When Partially Inoperable
An image forming apparatus includes an HDD, an HDD confirming unit, a system control unit, and a non-volatile semiconductor storage device. The HDD confirming unit detects a failure of the HDD and, in situations where a failure is detected, executes a confirmation process of detecting any operable portion of the HDD. The non-volatile semiconductor storage device stores system data used for operation of the system control unit. In a failure of the HDD, when the HDD confirming unit does not detect any operable portion, the system control unit separates the HDD from the image forming apparatus and sets the image forming apparatus into a restriction mode. In a failure of the HDD, when the HDD confirming unit detects an operable portion, the system control unit does not separate the HDD from the image forming apparatus and sets the image forming apparatus into a small-capacity mode.
DATA PROCESSING DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD FOR DATA PROCESSING DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
According to one embodiment, in a case where a test on an encryption device indicates an error in an encryption process of the encryption device, a data processing device holds a result of the test on the encryption device in a holding unit, and notifies that the encryption device has an error on the basis of the result of the test on the encryption device.
Data processing device, image reading apparatus, image forming apparatus, and data processing method
A data processing device includes a data processing circuit and a data processing control circuit. The data processing circuit is configured to perform data processing on processing target data by use of an external clock, the processing target data being included in a data signal received from an outside, the external clock being included in the data signal. The data processing control circuit is configured to detect a state of the external clock and control execution of the data processing on the processing target data in accordance with the state of the external clock. The data processing control circuit is configured to operate with a clock having a lower impedance than an impedance of the external clock, and discard the processing target data received during a period in which an abnormality of the external clock is detected, in a case of detecting the abnormality of the external clock.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
An information processing device includes a processor, and the processor: stores failure information; when a failure occurs in a series of processes executed in accordance with a definition of an order of plural unit processing units, presents failure information corresponding to the occurred failure among the failure information stored in the processor to a user; and when the failure information stored in the processor does not include failure information corresponding to the occurred failure, associate a unit processing unit where the failure has occurred and a unit processing unit preceding the unit processing unit where the failure has occurred with each other to be stored in the processor as a new failure information.
Device and context specific signal pattern analysis for magnetic resonance imaging equipment component diagnostics and predictive maintenance
When predicting required component service in an imaging device such as a magnetic resonance (MR) imaging device (12), component parameters such as coil voltage, phase lock lost (PLL) events, etc. are sampled to monitor system components. Voltage samples are filtered according to their temporal proximity to coil plug-in and unplug events to generate a filtered data set that is analyzed by a processor (46) to determine whether to transmit a fault report. A service recommendation is received based on the transmitted report and includes a root cause diagnosis and service recommendation that is output to a user interface (50).
DATA STORAGE FACILITY SOLUTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH IMPROVED SEARCH ACCURACY
A distributed computing system for managing solutions for print device support requests includes a print device having a user interface, a solution data store, and a solution processing system in communication with the print device. The system receives a support request from the print device that includes print device data pertaining to an issue with the print device. The system uses the print device data to generate a search query, and queries the solution data store to identify a list of possible solutions for the support request. For each selection, the system receives, from the print device, an indication of an exit status for the support request. The system correlates the possible solution associated with the selection with the print device data, generates factors based on the correlation, and uses the generated factors to update fields of a solution index in the data store for the possible solution.
Updating a refresh period and an update period in a WideIO device stacked on a system on a chip
An information processing apparatus, equipped with a WideIO memory device stacked on an SOC die including a CPU, and a method of controlling the same, are provide. The apparatus obtains temperature information of each of a plurality of memories of the WideIO memory device, and generates temperature distribution information of the WideIO memory device in accordance with respective execution of a plurality of function modules. Then, the apparatus determines a refresh rate of the WideIO memory device based on the maximum temperature of the WideIO memory device, decides a period, at which the refresh rate is determined, based on an operation mode of the information processing apparatus and a change rate of the maximum temperature for a predetermined time interval, and refreshes the WideIO memory device in accordance with the determined refresh rate.
Network device and method of specifying supervised data to be transmitted to system in accordance with calculation logic used for calculating previous timings of data stored in a sensor data database
A device specifies status data that should be uploaded to a management system using condition data and calculation logic, and uploads only status data that should be uploaded.
PRINTER EVENT LOG RETRIEVAL MECHANISM
A method of retrieving printer error logs from a printer or a multi-function printer with a printer memory buffer and internal non-volatile storage involves receiving a print error. A processor determines if a print error is a fatal error or a non-fatal error. On condition the print error is a non-fatal error, the event log located in the printer memory buffer is printed using the printer or the multi-function printer. On condition the print error is a fatal error, the processor determines if there is enough storage capacity to save the fatal error into the internal non-volatile storage. On condition there is enough storage capacity, the processor saves the event log into the internal non-volatile storage. The user is then instructed to power cycle the printer or the multi-function printer.
COMPONENT MANAGEMENT DEVICE, COMPONENT MANAGEMENT METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM
According to one embodiment, provided is a component management device includes a detection unit, a correlation determination unit, and an update unit. The detection unit detects a first-class component whose used amount exceeds the threshold value and which is used without causing a failure, and detects a first-class device that is a device including the detected first-class component and not causing a failure related to the first-class component. The correlation determination unit determines the presence or absence of a correlation with respect to a first correlation that is a correlation between the used amount of the detected first-class component and an operating condition of the first-class device. When it is determined that there is no correlation for the first correlation, the update unit determines a first update value that is an update value of the threshold value based on the used amount of the first-class component in the first-class device.
