Systems and methods for automatically starting workplace computing devices

Disclosed herein are methods and systems enabling automatic powering on and off of a computer of a user when the user is within a predetermined range from the computer. When there is a startup error detected during the remote powering on process of the computer, an alert is generated and automatically transmitted to an analyst computer to resolve the startup error. The disclosed systems and methods save a lot of time for the user each day as the user does not have to wait for execution of computer startup processes and the computer is ready to use when the user arrives at a location of their computer.

ERROR DETECTION AND MITIGATION FOR SOFTWARE PULL REQUESTS

Among other things, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to detecting and mitigating errors associated with software pull requests (PRs). Other embodiments may be described or claimed.

Recovery of application from error

Aspects of recovery of an application from an error. An error notification is received from an agent associated with an application, the error notification being indicative of an error encountered during execution of the application. The error notification is compared with error patterns stored in a database to determine a matching error pattern. Further, a recovery action is ascertained and the recovery action is provided to the agent to recover the application from the error.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING OPERATIONAL DISRUPTIONS IN MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICES VIA A MONITORING APPLICATION THAT REPETITIVELY RECORDS MULTIPLE SEPARATE CONSECUTIVE FILES LISTING LAUNCHED OR INSTALLED APPLICATIONS

A system and method for discovering fault conditions such as conflicts between applications and an operating system, driver, hardware, or a combination thereof, installed in mobile computing devices uses a mobile device running a diagnostic application. A list of applications that were launched or installed during a time period prior to an operational disruption is retrieved. A data table of combinations of incompatible programs and drivers is used to analyze the list of the applications that were launched or installed to create a list of potential fault-causing interactions due to software incompatibilities of software installed in the mobile computing device. A knowledge database is updated with data identifying at least one of the potential fault-causing interactions. Further disclosed is a computer program that identifies hardware-created or software-created problems and operational disruptions in mobile computing devices by collecting data on incompatibilities in particular mobile computing devices on the internet.

Recovery program using diagnostic results

Techniques for recovering an enclosure are provided. A recovery program is retrieved from a recovery program repository. Results from a plurality of diagnostic tests are retrieved. The diagnostic test results are analyzed with the recovery program. The recovery program determines an enclosure recovery action. The enclosure is recovered using the determined recovery action.

Systems and methods for smart diagnosis using hosted resources with intelligent altering of boot order

Systems and methods smart diagnosis using hosted resources with intelligent altering of boot order. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the IHS to: execute a first diagnostic module; identify a software or hardware malfunction as a result of the execution of the first diagnostic module; communicate the malfunction to a backend server; receive, from the backend server, an indication of a second diagnostic module to be subsequently executed by the IHS; and execute the second diagnostic module.

Remote cable access point reset

The system monitors a wireless device, detects when the device has failed or is not operating properly, and is able to remotely reset the device. The device may be reset remotely without a technician required to physically attend to the device. This out of band management allows for quicker, cheaper and more efficient handling of undesired states of a device, such as failure to operate. For a modem, the system may detect that the modem is not broadcasting a signal or is not communicating with the Internet or other network. The reset may be implemented through an access point in communication with the malfunctioning modem. For an access point, the system may detect that the access point is not communicating with a modem or another access point. The reset may be implemented by a neighboring access point or modem.

Correcting operational state and incorporating additional debugging support into an online system without disruption

Techniques are provided for correcting the operational state of a multi-process system without disrupting any running processes. A library providing error correction and logging functionality is statically linked to modules in the system. A script in the library loads a package file having a patch for returning an error state to a normal state. The script issues commands to invoke functions in the patch. Once the error state has returned to a normal state, the script issues commands to remove the package file from the system.

System and method for cloud remediation of a client with a non-bootable storage medium

A remediation server receives a service request from a data processing device, the service request to diagnose a failure to load an operating system at the data processing device. A data storage device local to data processing device is identified, the data storage device storing the operating system. A diagnostic process is provided at the remediation server, the diagnostic process to mount the data storage device. A diagnostic service is performed based on information stored at the data storage device.

Automatic notification of isolation

A method and associated systems of automatic notification of isolation of a first networked device. In response to detecting that it is not being properly managed by a network-management means, the first networked device creates a notification message that identifies the problem and requests proper network management. The device then transmits this message to any other device or networked node that it can communicate with, along with a request that recipients try to forward the message to the network-management means. If a device that receives the message is able to forward the message successfully, the network-management means takes appropriate steps to begin properly managing the first networked device.
