SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF TREATING PROPRIOCEPTIVE DYSFUNCTION AND VESTIBULAR DISORDERS
The systems, methods, apparatuses, and articles disclosed herein provide a new approach to treatment symptoms, such as proprioceptive dysfunction and vestibular disorders, which may be caused by certain types of human ailments. According to the present disclosure, a wearable article may include one or more limb sections and a resilient member may be provided along a length of each of the one or more limb sections and configured to generate a resistance force. Adjustments to the resistance force provided by the resilient member(s) may be adjusted using cord locks. As a user wearing the wearable article moves, the resistance force is applied to the user's limbs. Strain gauges may be provided to measure the resistance force(s), which enables verification that the resilient members are sized and configured to provide an appropriate amount of resistance force to a user and may improve programs and regimens designed to treat such ailments.
Wearable electrocardiographic monitoring technology (ECG) with an airtight container for medicines, and integrated medical monitoring system
The present invention refers to a wearable, individual, customized and different sized technology for men and women, composed of electrodes, conductive track and airtight container for medicines, coupled to one another, and a mini electrocardiogram (ECG) apparatus containing a GSM (Global System Mobile) modem and a GPS (Global Positioning System) or a Bluetooth system which, through a wireless network specification within a personal scope (Wireless Personal Area Networks—PANs) deemed as PAN-type or even WPAN, the electrical signal acquisition begins when the user press the button down. It is in the field of medical, recreational and/or sport applications, aiming at monitoring patients at high cardiovascular risk, being possible to diagnose it as soon as possible, aiming at shortening time to definite treatment of those who present acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute myocardial infarction (AMI), acute atrial fibrillation-type (AAF) cardiac arrhythmias, and other cardiac arrhythmias or other cardiac pathologies capable to be detected by the electrocardiographic trace. Moreover the invention has tools to analyze a bunch of data—big data analytics and deeplearning—by utilizing artificial intelligence. Finally, the invention also has a module to proper administer the drug contained into the airtight container.
Joint stabilization device, particularly for the patellofemoral joint
A joint stabilization device including at least support means positionable at the patellar portion of a leg of a patient; a sustaining element of elongated shape, having a first extremity and a second extremity opposite to each other, associated with the support means and positionable laterally to the patella of the patient; a first traction element and a second traction element associated with the first extremity and with the second extremity, respectively; and a first directing element and a second directing element which are associated with the sustaining element and interposed between the first extremity and the first traction element and between the second extremity and the second traction element respectively, wherein the first traction element and the second traction element are adapted to position the sustaining element in a predefined position, the first directing element and the second directing element being adjustable depending on the predefined position.
Compression garment
A compression garment may generally include an upwardly disposed waist, a seat spaced apart from and connected to a pant front, the seat and the pant front connected to the waist, a single leg portion connected to the seat and the pant front and configured to receive a first leg of a wearer, and an opposing side portion connected to the seat and the pant front and including an aperture opposed to the waist and defined by distal edges of the seat and the pant front, and a compression portion circumferentially around at least a portion of the first leg of the wearer to exert therapeutic pressure on the first leg of the wearer when the compression garment is in use.
GARMENT
A method is provided for designing a garment having a plurality of surfaces. The method includes selecting at least one surface from the plurality of surfaces to serve as a tactile stimulating surface. The method further includes selecting a texture for the at least one surface, different from that of at least a majority of the plurality of surfaces, configured to provide tactile stimulation to a touch sensing organ.
Therapeutic Textile Articles and Methods of Use
The present invention relates generally to therapeutic articles comprised of carbonaceous blend textile materials comprising yarns having about 25 to 100 weight % carbonaceous fiber and about 0 to 75 weight % fiber made of polyester, nylon, rayon, lyocell, cellulose, wool, silk, linen, bamboo, m-aramid, p-aramid, modacrylic, novoloid, melamine, regenerated cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, antistatic fiber, poly(p-phenylene benzobisoxazole) (PBO), polybenzimidazole (PBI), polysulphonamide (PSA), and combinations thereof, or other fibers not listed that are capable of being made into yarn and textile fabrics that are knit, woven, or nonwoven, and wherein the fabric has a weight from about 3 oz/yd.sup.2 to about 20 oz/yd.sup.2. Also encompassed within this invention is a method for using therapeutic textile articles having carbonaceous blend textile materials of the present disclosure for treatment of humans and animals with developmental neurological disorders, central nervous system disorders, autoimmune disorders, cardiovascular disease, sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, pain management, and diabetes.
TIGHTS PRESENTING AN ADJUSTABLECOMPRESSION EFFECT FOR CINCHING AROUND THE WAIST AND PROVIDING SUPPORT
A pair of tights specially designed for the wearer to self-adjust the waist for fit, adjust compression, adjust for waist training, adjust lower abdominal support, and adjust lower lumbar back support. The localized compression effect is configured and adjusted by a textile piece attached at the left side area of the back waistband that can cross the front of the abdomen to the left and a textile piece attached at the right-side area of the back waistband that can cross the front of the abdomen to the right. The two textile pieces that cross the body are anchored from the opposite side areas of the waistband creating a compression and opposite horizontal pull across the back and can be adjusted to attach across the front of the body. The configuration of the waistband and adjustable textile pieces allows a wearer to self adjust the fit.
Tourniquet
A tourniquet includes a base plate, and a first anchor point configured to anchor a first end of a lace to the base plate. The tourniquet includes a second anchor point configured to anchor a second end of the lace to the base plate. The tourniquet includes a tunnel strap including a first lace guide connected to a first end of the tunnel strap and configured to guide the lace from the first anchor point directly to a spool, and a second lace guide connected to the first end of the tunnel strap and configured to guide the lace from the second anchor point directly to the spool. The tourniquet includes a tightening mechanism connected to the base plate and including the spool configured to accept a middle portion of the lace, and a knob configured for manually winding the middle portion of the lace onto the spool.
PHOTOSENSITIZING ANTIBODY-FLUOROPHORE CONJUGATES
The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods of killing cells in vitro or in vivo. In particular examples, the method includes contacting a cell having a cell surface protein with a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody-IR700 molecule, wherein the antibody specifically binds to the cell surface protein. In particular examples the antibody recognizes a tumor-specific antigen on the surface of a tumor cell. The cell is subsequently irradiated, such as at a wavelength of 660 to 740 nm at a dose of at least 1 J cm.sup.−2, thereby killing the cell. Also provided are wearable devices that include an article of clothing, jewelry, or covering; and an NIR LED incorporated into the article, which can be used with the disclosed methods.
