A manual wheelchair including a collapsible frame with at least one brace connected to at least one of the frame members. A drive wheel axel extends along a first axis of rotation and engages a drive wheel, the first brace, and a portion of a transmission. A push rim axel extends along a second axis of rotation and engages a push rim wheel, the second brace, and a portion of the transmission, which transmits rotation of the push rim to rotation of the drive wheel. The at least one brace is configured to release the at least one of the frame members to collapse the wheelchair.

WHEEL FRAME, DRIVING WHEEL, WHEELCHAIR, ERGOMETER, AND MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

Provided is a wheel frame capable of measuring in detail the magnitude and the direction of a driving force while suppressing increase in weight and size of a driving wheel. A wheel flame (16a) includes a cylindrical hub (16c) into which an axle (11b) is rotatably inserted, a six-axis force sensor (16e) having an insertion hole (16e1) into which the hub (16c) is inserted, and an outer flange (16f) extending radially outward from an input section (16e2) of the six-axis force sensor (16e), wherein a hand rim (17) is attached to the outer flange (16f).

A manual wheelchair propulsion device (FIGS. 5, 6 & 7), attached to wheelchairs through the axles of the rear wheels (FIGS. 14, 15, 16 & 17), attached through the wheel winder unit with a quick release head with ball Joint to lock in position (FIGS. 1, 2) to an adaptable socket either manufactured into the axle of the wheelchair wheel or attached rigidly with supports later (FIGS. 14, 15 & 17) with a retractable arm (FIGS. 5 & 6) with eight gears and one neutral (FIGS. 3, 12 & 13) used in a circular motion to manually propel ones self.

Patient transport apparatus user interface

A patient transport apparatus operable by a user for transporting a patient along stairs. A seat section is coupled to a support structure supporting a track assembly having a belt. A motor selectively generates torque to drive the belt. A user interface is arranged for engagement by the user, and has a direction input control for selecting a drive direction of the motor, and an activation input control for operating the motor to drive the belt. A controller in communication with the motor and the user interface is configured to limit operation of the motor in response to user engagement of the activation input control preceding engagement of the direction input control to prevent driving the belt, and to permit operation of the motor in response to user engagement of the activation input control following engagement of the direction input control to drive the belt in a selected drive direction.

DEVICES, SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR EXERCISING WITH MUSCLE STIMULATION

A method includes measuring, continually or iteratively, positions of an exercise apparatus along a circuit, wherein the exercise apparatus is configured for cyclic movement along the circuit. A plurality of muscles of a user coupled to the exercise apparatus can be stimulated based on the position of the exercise apparatus. The exercise apparatus can be a cycling device or a rowing machine.

Collapsible manual wheelchair system for improved propulsion and transfers

A manual wheelchair including a collapsible frame having a first lateral member that is connected to first and second braces at their respective first ends. A drive wheel axle extends along a first axis of rotation and engages a drive wheel, the first brace, and a portion of a transmission. A push rim axle extends along a second axis of rotation and engages a push rim wheel, the second brace, and a portion of the transmission, which transmits rotation of the push rim to rotation of the drive wheel. The collapsible frame additionally includes a second lateral member that is connected to the first and second braces as their respective second ends. The first and second braces are configured to release the second lateral member to collapse the manual wheelchair.

Wheelchair gearshift arrangement

Embodiments herein relate to a wheelchair gearshift arrangement (10), which comprises an axle tube (20) and a pair of wheel attachment adaptors (30) inserted into a respective end (21, 22) of the axle tube (20). The wheel attachment adaptors (30) further includes a respective axle sleeve (40) adapted to receive and hold a respective wheel axle (51) of a respective complete wheelchair wheel (50). Each complete wheelchair wheel (50) having a respective wheel axle centric, axially translatable, gear change mechanism (52). One or more gear change actuators (80) are arranged within the axle tube (20) such that they are operative to selectively, upon user manipulation of an associated gear selector (60), axially translate the associated gear change mechanisms (52) of the respective complete wheelchair wheels (50). Such translation will affect a change of gear ratio between a push-rim (55) and wheel-rim (56) of each respective complete wheelchair wheel (50).
