Wirelessly controlled wheelchair assembly with toilet accessibility
A wirelessly controlled wheelchair assembly comprises a wheel driving unit, a seat edge and footrest lifting unit, a back-rest lifting unit and a seat retracting unit. The wheelchair assembly further comprises a microcontroller electronically coupled with the wheel driving unit, the seat edge and footrest lifting unit, the back-rest lifting unit and the seat retracting unit. The microcontroller is configured to execute a plurality of commands to wirelessly control the operating of the wheelchair. The plurality of commands comprises commands for displacing the wheelchair from a source location to a destination location, lifting the user to slightly detach from the seat, opening the seat by retracting the one or more panels of the seat to enable accessibility of a toilet, move the user in the downward direction and reversing the above steps to restore the user in normal sitting posture. A method of operating the wheelchair assembly is also provided.
FOOTREST DEVICE AND SAFETY DEVICE FOR WHEELCHAIR
The present invention relates to a footrest device for a wheelchair, and more particularly to a footrest device and safety device for a wheelchair, in which a footrest provided in a lower side of the wheelchair moves up and down in accordance with a weight applied by a foot of a sitting person, thereby preventing a falling accident caused by stepping on the footrest when the sitting person rises from or sits in the wheelchair.
Brake system for wheelchair
A brake system for a wheelchair comprises a lever assembly adapted to be movably connected to a wheelchair frame, the lever assembly having a handle portion for hand manipulation. A brake unit is adapted to be pivotally connected to relative to the wheelchair frame, the brake unit having a brake end adapted to contact the wheel. An actuator portion and a follower portion are in the brake system, the follower portion cooperating with the actuator portion for the brake unit to be selectively displaceable between at least two configurations, including a floating configuration in which the brake end contacts the wheel so as to automatically pivot into blocking contact with the wheel when the wheel rotates rearwardly, while allowing a forward rotation of the wheel, and a locking configuration in which the brake end is manually locked into blocking contact with the wheel.
Pneumatic powered mobility control systems
A personal mobility device includes a control system including a manually operated actuator, a first forward control valve having an inlet in fluid connection with a source of pressurized gas and an outlet in fluid connection with a first forward port of at least a first pneumatic motor, and a first rearward control valve having an inlet in fluid connection with the source of pressurized gas and an outlet in fluid connection with a first rearward port of the first pneumatic motor. Movement of the manually operated actuator controls actuation of the first forward control valve and the first rearward control valve and thereby flow of gas from the source of pressurized gas to the first forward port and the first rearward port.
WHEELCHAIR BRAKING DEVICE
An embodiment provides a wheelchair braking device, the wheelchair braking device including: at least two brake mechanisms, wherein, when the wheelchair braking device is engaged in a brake position on a wheelchair, at least one brake mechanism engages with a first of a plurality of wheels on the wheelchair and at least a second brake mechanism engages with a second of the plurality of wheels on the wheelchair; a connection component extending between the at least two brake mechanisms; and a brake handle connected to the connection component and causing movement of the at least two brake mechanisms simultaneously with respect to the plurality of wheels. Other aspects are described and claimed.
MODULAR CHAIR SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF TRANSPORTING A SUBJECT WITH A MODULAR CHAIR SYSTEM
Modular chair systems and methods of transporting a subject using a modular chair system are described. A modular chair system includes a seat component, a chair component, and a wheelchair component. The seat component includes a seat having a planar lower surface with one or more recesses and one or more attachment bars disposed in each of the recesses. The chair component includes one or more chair latch mechanisms and the wheelchair component includes one or more wheelchair latch mechanisms. Each attachment bar corresponds to one of the chair latch mechanisms and one of the wheelchair latch mechanisms such that the seat component is configured to be placed upon the chair component or the wheelchair component and releasably held in place by the chair latch mechanisms or the wheelchair latch mechanisms.
Wheelchair frame structure and method for adjusting wheelchair
A front wheel and a rear wheel are to be provided at a grounding frame. A body frame is mounted on the grounding frame and includes a mount at which a seat is to be provided. A relative position between the grounding frame and the body frame in a height direction of a wheelchair is changed via a height adjustment mechanism. The height adjustment mechanism includes an adjustment pole, a pole reception, and a holding portion. The adjustment pole extends along the height direction and is mounted on one of the body frame and the grounding frame. The pole reception is mounted on another of the body frame and the grounding frame and is engaged with the adjustment pole slidably in the height direction. The holding portion is to hold not to relatively move the adjustment pole with respect to the pole reception.
Adaptive Attachment Wheel for Wheelchairs
The invention relates to an adaptive attachment wheel for wheelchairs, formed as a unit consisting of: a wheel (5); frame segments (1); adaptation shells (7, 8) for lateral guidance on the wheelchair front tubes; and at least one holding element (6) that can be fastened to the wheelchair; such that, when the adaptive attachment wheel is attached to the wheel-chair, the adaptation shells (7, 8) are brought together with the wheelchair front tubes, the front casters of which are lifted off of the ground, and a three-wheeled wheelchair is produced, the front wheel (5) of which can be steered and braked by means of an one-hand steering system (13).
