In some embodiments, systems and methods are provided herein to improve RFID tag reading. Some embodiments provide retail RFID tag exclusion systems that comprise: a set of RFID tag readers; and an RFID evaluation control circuit configured to: access a set of current tag read criteria associated with an RFID tag; access multiple sets of previous tag read criteria; access and apply a set of tag evaluation rules and identify when a threshold number of the set of current tag read criteria are each within corresponding criteria thresholds of a corresponding previous tag read criterion of a previous set of tag read criteria; and exclude the RFID tag when the threshold number of the current tag read criteria are within the corresponding criteria thresholds of the corresponding previous tag read criterion of the set of previous tag read criteria.

Storing a user address in a transceiver identification field for identification tags on smart objects
10387693 · 2019-08-20 · ·

A method includes storing a user address associated with a particular user of a device in a first transceiver identification field stored on a first identification tag of a first smart object of a first type. An interrogator of the device is enabled to read a second identification tag attached to a second smart object of the first type. A second transceiver identification field is stored on the second identification tag. The user address is stored in the second transceiver identification field using the interrogator responsive to determining that the second radio identification field has a default value. A connection is established between the device and the second smart object using a first transceiver of the device based on the user address.

User-filtered RFID inventory

RFID-tagged items can be filtered based on relevance estimation or user input. A device reads digital identifiers for multiple RFID-tagged items. The device estimates and selects an item that an individual desires based on one or more metrics, then presents data about the selected item to the individual. If the device receives feedback that the selected item is not the desired item, then the device may estimate and select another item and/or present information about multiple items to allow the individual to select the desired item. When the desired item is selected, the device may perform some associated action.

BEACON ENABLED DISTRIBUTION ITEMS

Systems and methods of tracking distribution items using hardware components on or in the distribution items. Shippers and recipients of distribution items can track or locate a distribution item, especially a high value item, if the distribution item is lost, misrouted, or delayed. Distribution items can be tracked until an indication of delivery, such as at a delivery location.

READING DEVICE AND METHOD
20190188426 · 2019-06-20 · ·

A reading device includes a placing table supporting an article to which an RFID tag is attached. An antenna is configured to emit a radio wave for communicating with the RFID tag toward the placing table. A reading unit is configured to read tag information including a tag identifier identifying the RFID tag by communicating with the RFID tag via the antenna while the placing table and the antenna are integrally moved. An extracting unit is configured to extract a tag identifier in which an amount of change in phase information is a predetermined value or less, based on the phase information of a response wave obtained from the RFID tag when the tag information is read. An outputting unit is configured to output the tag information including the tag identifier extracted by the extracting unit.

Bulk radio frequency identification tag reading

A method and apparatus for detecting a bulk quantity of RFID tags in a presentation area such as a point-of-sale device. Bulk quantity of RFID tags may be detected according to input to the point-of-sale device including through input from a symbolic barcode scanner, a conveyor belt, a weight scale, and/or via an RF antenna driven at a first power level. After the bulk quantity of RFID tags is detected, the RF antenna is driven at a second, higher power level temporarily to increase bulk RFID tag detection accuracy. Fringe tags may be detected by the RF antenna when it is driven at the higher power level that are in the environment but not presented at the point-of-sale device. Fringe tags may be filtered based on RF characterization of the presentation area including driving the RF antenna outside of presentation sessions and/or filtering RFID tags detected across multiple presentation sessions.

RFID error detection systems and methods

In some embodiments, systems and methods are provided herein to improve RFID tag reading. Some embodiments provide retail RFID tag exclusion systems that comprise: a set of RFID antennas; an RFID criteria database of sets of RFID tag read criteria; and an RFID evaluation control circuit configured to: access a set of current tag read criteria associated with an RFID tag; access multiple sets of previous tag read criteria; access and apply a set of tag evaluation rules and identify when a threshold number of the set of current tag read criteria are each within corresponding criteria thresholds of a corresponding previous tag read criterion of a previous set of tag read criteria; and exclude the RFID tag when the threshold number of the current tag read criteria are within the corresponding criteria thresholds of the corresponding previous tag read criterion of the set of previous tag read criteria.

A wristband configuration for receiving an accessory is described herein. In some implementations, a wristband includes a first side that includes a printable section of the wristband that includes a print coating. The wristband may include a second side, opposite the first side, that includes. The wristband may include may include a comfort coating, and an adhesive material on an adhesive section of the wristband. The wristband may include a receiving hole pattern that is configured to receive an accessory associated with the wristband and secure the accessory to the wristband when worn by a wearer.

Method and system for asset tracking in an enterprise environment

A method and system for tracking an asset in an indoor facility. The method includes receiving, from a first mobile device, an asset tracking tag collision report, the asset tracking tag collision report including a tag identifier of an asset tracking tag associated with an asset; determining a new location of the asset based on the received asset tracking tag collision report; updating an asset location database to indicate the new location of the asset; and, in response to determining the new location of the asset, transmitting an instruction message to a mobile device to cause the mobile device to direct the asset tracking tag to cease broadcasting the wireless signal. The method and system use crowd-sourcing to determine a new location of an asset that has moved in an indoor facility.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR AVOIDING CROSS-READING OF RFID USING VISIBLE LIGHT RECOGNITION
