RFID tags enforcing persistence while powered
11200387 · 2021-12-14 · ·

RFID tags may compensate for non-RFID power sources by automatically enforcing data or state persistence even while powered. A tag may measure a time interval between successive detected modulated reader transmissions. If the interval exceeds a minimum time, then the tag may deassert a protocol flag, erase data, and/or change tag operating states, even if the tag would normally not perform these actions while powered.

VISUAL TAG EMERGING PATTERN DETECTION
20220188548 · 2022-06-16 ·

Systems, devices, media, and methods are presented for identifying emerging viewing patterns for visual media such as still images and videos. Emerging viewing patterns are identified by identifying visual tags for visual media viewed by users, selecting a subset of the tags by applying a taxonomy-based filter, generating pattern candidates from the subset, evaluating consumption metrics for each of the generated patterns, and ranking the generated pattern candidates responsive to the consumption metrics to identify emerging viewing patterns for the users.

CONTROLLED ZONE TRACKING SYSTEM

A controlled zone monitoring system and method for tracking assets is disclosed. The system includes one or more checkpoint stations located adjacent to a controlled zone. Each checkpoint station includes an RFID tag reader for reading RFID tags on assets and a processing system for comparing sets of assets and determining if any assets are missing from the sets.

PROVIDING DISPLAY CONTENT USING RFID TAGS IN GEO-FENCED ZONES

Certain aspects involve systems and methods for providing display content using RFID tags in geo-fenced zones. One example method includes processing devices that perform operations that include scanning radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags in a geo-fenced zone. The RFID tags correspond to a plurality of items. Further, the operations include retrieving a marketing campaign associated with the plurality of items. The marketing campaign comprises rules based on inventory information. In addition, the operations include determining the inventory information for the plurality of items based on the RFID tags. The operations further include selecting an item from among the plurality of items based on a rule associated with the marketing campaign. The rule is based on the inventory information. Additionally, the operations include generating display content based on the item.

CONTROL PROTOCOL FOR MULTI-PROTOCOL TRANSPONDER

Example systems and methods for controlling communication protocols for multi-protocol interrogators are provided herein. In various implementations a multi-protocol interrogator is provided that is capable of exchanging data with a transponder according to a plurality of protocols and is configured to transmit a control signal indicating a preferred protocol from the plurality of protocols over a radio interface. Multi-protocol transponders are also provided that are configured to receive and recognize the control signal, and respond only on the signaled, preferred protocol.

Communication device and method of operating a communication device

In accordance with a first aspect, a communication device is provided, comprising: a transmitter configured to transmit one or more radio frequency signal pulses to an external communication device; a receiver configured to receive one or more response signals in response to the radio frequency signal pulses transmitted by the transmitter; a signal analyzer configured to detect one or more characteristics of the response signals, to compare the detected characteristics with predefined reference characteristics and to generate an output indicative of a result of comparing the detected characteristics with the predefined reference characteristics; a processing unit configured to determine at least one category to which the external communication device belongs based on the output generated by the signal analyzer. In accordance with a second aspect, a corresponding method of operating a communication device is conceived. In accordance with a third aspect, a corresponding computer program is provided.
