Pharma-informatics system
An apparatus including a coil configured to receive a signal associated with a composition ingested by a user and a data storage element operatively coupled to the coil, the data storage element configured to store, based on the signal, at least one of time information, date information, or identity information associated with the composition.
Communication system with partial power source
The system of the present invention includes a conductive element, an electronic component, and a partial power source in the form of dissimilar materials. Upon contact with a conducting fluid, a voltage potential is created and the power source is completed, which activates the system. The electronic component controls the conductance between the dissimilar materials to produce a unique current signature. The system can be used in a variety of different applications, including as components of ingestible identifiers, such as may be found in ingestible event markers, e.g., pharma-informatics enabled pharmaceutical compositions.
Remote control method and apparatus for home appliances
A remote control method and an apparatus for home appliances, wherein a remote controller performs situation recognition using sensors and automatically controls home appliances without a control message from a portable device when communication with the portable device is not possible, are provided. The remote control method is designed for a remote controller managing home appliances installed in a home. The remote control method includes receiving a remote control request from a portable device capable of remotely controlling one or more home appliances, performing, upon reception of the remote control request, situation recognition with respect to the home appliances, and controlling operations of the home appliances based on situation recognition results.
Infrastructure-mounted RFID tags
Infrastructure-mounted RFID-readable tags or transponders are provided for various applications. Such infrastructure tags may be employed in combination with RFID-readable product tags and an RFID reader for an improved inventory-management system which requires both types of tags to be scanned to constitute a successful product count. Infrastructure tags may also be employed as read or no-read tags in an RFID read field. The infrastructure tags of the RFID read field are combined with an RFID reader which is dynamically adaptable during initial set-up and use to improve the performance of the read field. When a perturbing object is detected in the read field, one or more performance parameters of the reader are adjusted to overcome any perturbing influence caused by the object.
RFID READ ZONE MAPPING, TESTING, AND MONITORING USING A SILENT RFID TAG
A communication device includes a central processing unit (CPU); a non-transitory memory; and an RFID application stored on the non-transitory memory and comprising executable instructions that when executed by the CPU, cause the communication device to be configured to provide the communication device in an environment; receive a radio frequency (RF) signal from an RFID reader at a plurality of locations in the industrial environment, wherein the RF signal comprises a frequency in the cellular frequency range; determine a receive signal strength (RSS) of the RF signal at each of the plurality of locations; determine the RSS of the RF signal at each of the plurality of locations; and generate a map of an RFID read zone in the industrial environment based on the RSS of the RF signal at the plurality of locations.

STORAGE CONTAINER
To provide a storage container that employs a metallic housing while allowing individual identification of a contained object by means of radio wave communication with an electronic tag of a managed object in the housing. A storage container 1 comprising: a metallic housing 10 for enclosing battery modules 11, 12, 13, 14 as managed objects with electronic tags 21, 22, 23, 24 for individual identification being attached thereto; and an opening portion 15 that is provided on the metallic housing 10 and has an opening being formed therein, the opening constituting a radio wave propagation path between the electronic tags 21, 22, 23, 24 of the battery modules 11, 12, 13, 14 enclosed in the metallic housing 10 and exterior of the metallic housing 10.
ANTENNA DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An antenna device includes a power supply coil to which a near field communication circuit is connected, a near field communication coil that is coupled to an antenna coil of a communication target and the power supply coil via a magnetic field and that resonates at the frequency of a near field communication signal, and a non-contact charging coil that is connected to a non-contact charging control circuit and that is coupled to a target coil for non-contact charging. The power supply coil and the non-contact charging coil are provided on the same plane or on planes that are close to each other. The non-contact charging coil is superposed with the near field communication coil when viewed in plan view, and the shortest distance between the power supply coil and the NFC coil is smaller than the shortest distance between the power supply coil and the non-contact charging coil.
RFID medical article tracking system and method
A system and method for managing the contents of a medical storage container, such as a tray, that has an inventory of medical articles. A Faraday cage enclosure is used to isolate, scan, and inventory the container. The container and each of the medical articles in the container have a respective RFID tag. A processor is programmed to retrieve the inventory list for the container based on its RFID tag and compare the actual contents of the container according to their tags to the inventory list. The processor is also programmed to show the layout of the pockets of a tray and show an indicator of which pocket a particular medical article should be located.
Secure cover with tamper resistant landing area
Various aspects of the disclosure generally relate to security for a credit card processing reader. Part of security for a reader is a secure cover having a trace mesh to discourage drilling through the cover. The mesh may be connected to one or more landing areas on the cover. The landing area has electrical pads with trace routing that provides tamper protection for the landing area.
