In an embodiment, a method includes receiving RFID data from an RFID device in proximity to a network transceiver via an RFID antenna in the network transceiver, said RFID data defining an operating configuration of the network transceiver; and programming the network transceiver according to the operating configuration defined by the received RFID data. In an embodiment, a network transceiver includes: a host interface for connecting to a host; a network interface for transmitting and receiving signals to and from a network; an RFID antenna for receiving RFID data; and a controller in operative communication with the network interface and the RFID antenna, said controller operating the network interface according to an operating configuration, wherein the operating configuration of the controller is programmed using the RFID data received via the RFID antenna. Various other embodiments are also provided.
Systems and methods using single antenna for multiple resonant frequency ranges
A radio frequency device utilizing an antenna having a single antenna structure resonant on multiple resonant frequency ranges. The antenna can be configured to operate within multiple frequency ranges for communication according to respective protocols associated with the respective frequency ranges.
Integrated stationary RFID reader
Systems and methods of the present invention provide for storing a unique identifier for an RFID tag associated with, and affixed to, an asset. An RFID reader, coupled to a server computer through a network, executes firmware instructions causing the reader to receive a transmission from a server computer to run a customizable software with programmable logic at the reader. The reader then recognizes the tag according to its signal strength, and determines a tag state for the tag according to a state machine in the customizable software. If the tag state changes, the reader publishes the tag state and transmits it to the server computer using a low bandwidth solution.
Method, apparatus, and computer program product for evaluating performance based on real-time data for proximity and movement of objects
An example disclosed method for determining player performance information associated with a player carrying a first tag moving about a monitored area includes receiving first blink data from a plurality of receivers disposed about the monitored area, wherein the first blink data is generated by the first tag carried by the player moving about the monitored area; weighting the first blink data by: when the player is in a pre-play formation, assigning a first weight to the first blink data; and in response to receiving the play-start indication, assigning a second weight to the first blink data, the second weight being greater than the first weight; determining tag location data based on the weighted first blink data; and determining player performance information based on the tag location data.
Industrial Printer
A high speed tabletop and industrial printer is disclosed with integrated high speed RFID encoding and verification at the same time. The industrial printer simultaneously prints on and electronically encodes/verifies RFID labels, tags, and/or stickers attached to a continuous web. The industrial printer comprises a lighted sensor array for indexing the printing to the RFID tags; and a cutter powered from the industrial printer for cutting the web that the RFID tags are disposed on. The industrial printer comprises two RFID reader/writers that are individually controlled. Specifically, one of the RFID reader/writers comprises the ability to electronically encode the RFID tags while the web is moving; and the second RFID reader/writer uses an additional RFID module and antenna on the printer for verifying the data encoded to the RFID tags.
SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR DETECTING INFORMATION OF ASSETS STORED IN COMMUNICATION TAGS
Disclosed is a system for detecting information of assets stored in communication tags and communicating assets information over a communication network. The system includes a bi-directional communication reader, a server, a GPS unit, a camera, a communication module, a relay switch, a battery, and an IR Engine. The server stores asset information using a software application. The software application includes a front end application module for configuration, an event module, a jitter control module, a back end application module, a communication module, a GPS communication module, a relay communication module, a motion detector communication module, a reader control module, a camera communication module, and an IR communication module. Further, an unlimited number of modules can be added for example extended storage, LCD, and flash. The event module reads the asset information from the database and alerts the user of an event. The communication module receives processed assets information from the communication tags via the bi-directional communication reader from the specific antenna. Further, the communication module communicates the processed assets information over the communication network via a proprietary protocol.

ID-based control unit-key fob pairing
A method for pairing a key fob with a control unit is provided. The key fob executes an ID authenticated key agreement protocol with a pairing device based on a key fob identification to authenticate one another and to generate a first encryption key. The pairing device encrypts a control unit identification using the first encryption key. The key fob receives the encrypted control unit identification transmitted from the pairing device. The key fob then executes an ID authenticated key agreement protocol with the control unit based on the control unit identification to authenticate one another and to generate a second encryption key. The key fob then receives an operational key transmitted from the control unit that is encrypted with the second encryption key.
