PORTABLE TIRE SCANNERS AND RELATED METHODS AND SYSTEMS
Disclosed herein are devices and methods for determining the identity of markings on tires. A portable tire scanner can comprise one or more light sources and detector that reflect light off tire markings and capture imagery of them. The scanner is operable to process the imagery to determine the identity of the markings. The marking can be the same color as the area of the tire around the marking (e.g., black-on-black) and the scanner can identify the marking by determining angular edges of the markings. Plural light sources and/or detectors can be used to provide plural perspectives to better determine the edges of the markings. The housing can have a form factor that allows the scanner to be hand-held, such that a user can aim the scanner at tires even while on a vehicle or in hard to reach positions. The scanner can be used to scan and identify several tire marking in succession.
PARCEL HANDLING AND TRACKING SYSTEM AND A METHOD OF SCANNING IDENTIFYING FEATURES ON PARCELS
A parcel handling and tracking system allows an all-around scanning of identifying features thanks to a scanning window, where the parcels are configured to sit at the scanning window on a resting surface of the parcel itself. The scanning window is light permeable to allow reading of the identifying features at the resting surface, possibly together with other identifying features at surfaces of the parcel other than the resting surface.
Shopping cart scanning device
A shopping cart scanning device, including a main body, a scanner disposed on at least a portion of the main body to scan a machine-readable code of at least one item, a scale movably disposed within at least a portion of the main body to receive the at least one item thereon, such that a weight of the at least one item is determined, a display unit disposed on at least a portion of the main body to display at least one of a price of the at least one item in response to the scanner scanning the at least one item and the weight of the at least one item in response to the scale receiving the at least one item thereon, and a cart clip disposed on at least a portion of the main body to removably connect the main body to a shopping cart.
Systems and methods for managing barcode information
The invention provides systems and methods for managing identifier labels for use in tracking one or more associated products in a supply chain.
Systems and methods for identifying package properties in an automated industrial robotics system
A package scanning conveyance system that integrates a first two-dimensional image with at least a second two-dimensional image or a three-dimensional point clouds to calculate or estimate a package's physical properties, and/or determine if there are two or more packages in a pile. The captured imaging data is transformed by the inventive system to provide real-time feedback to a human operator to enable the operator to maintain an understanding of the system's performance. The imaging data may also be used to perform quality-checks on other parts of the package delivery and conveyance systems and document the condition of packages that have passed through the system.
Tag reading device
A tag reading device includes an external interface, an RFID interface, a buffer memory, and a processor. The external interface communicates with a higher-level device. The RFID interface reads tag information from an RFID tag. The buffer memory sequentially records the tag information read from the RFID tag using the RFID interface. The processor transmits the tag information recorded in order in the buffer memory to the higher-level device via the external interface, and updates a transmission start pointer indicating untransmitted tag information in the buffer memory.
Code reader and related method for object detection based on image area percentage threshold
A code reader includes an imager configured to capture an image, and a processor operably coupled to the imager. The processor performs an object detection operation having a configurable triggering threshold that may be set, at least in part, based on an amount of changes needed to be detected in order to trigger a positive result for object detection. The processor also initiates a scanning phase for the code reader to read and decode an indicia responsive to the positive result being achieved by the object detection operation.
Image Projection Device
An image projection device is disclosed having a body defining an aperture that includes a slide frame receiving slot that is transverse to the aperture and a magnifying lens positioned in alignment with the aperture at the front of the body. The image projection device can be attached to a mobile device and uses the camera flash of the mobile device to provide the light source to illuminate a slide transparency. The mobile device can identify a particular slide transparency through information encoded on the slide frame in order to coordinate audio or video output with the projected slide.
READING OUT OPTICALLY READABLE CODES
The present disclosure is concerned with the technical field of marking objects with optically readable codes and reading out (decoding) the codes. Subjects of the present disclosure are a method, a system and a computer program product for decoding optically readable codes introduced in surfaces of objects.
AUTOMATED DETECTION OF MISSING, OBSTRUCTED, OR DAMAGED LABELS
Systems and methods for generating labels are described. A label having particular format and content can be affixed to a parcel depending upon its. Barcodes can be positioned adjacent to one or more of the borders of the label. If, during a shipping workflow, one or more of the barcodes cannot be detected, it can be assumed that the label is damaged or obstructed.
