20220269874 · 2022-08-25 ·

An imaging assembly for capturing at least one object appearing in a field of view (FOV) is provided that includes an image capturing system, a controller operatively coupled to the image capturing system to control operation thereof, and a processor operatively coupled to the controller. The image capturing system is adapted to capture an image having at least one sub-frame and is further adapted to obtain distance information of the object. The processor analyzes the image to determine a brightness value of at least a portion of the image and analyzes the distance information of the object to determine a distance value from the imaging assembly to the object. The processor further determines an illumination characteristic based on the brightness value and the distance value.

Examples disclosed herein provide a scanning device with ergonomic features. As an example, the scanning device includes a rear housing section, a grip housing section, and a lower housing section, all coupled to each other. The rear housing section includes a trigger disposed on an end of the rear housing section, for activating the scanning device. A perimeter of the grip housing section includes the ergonomic features, and an end of the lower housing section opposite from the end of the rear housing section includes an optical scanner.

Mark reader with reduced trigger-to-decode response time
09721134 · 2017-08-01 · ·

Systems and methods for use with a handheld mark reader that reduce the time between activation of the reader's trigger and the reader returning a successful decode response. Image processing may be performed prior to the user actuating the trigger and thus obtaining a decodable image with reduced delay. Separate pre-trigger and post-trigger parameters may be used for image decoding. A feedback loop may be incorporated for repeated parameter updates. An adjustable lens may be utilized either with illumination OFF or ON.

Mobile computer configured to read multiple decodable indicia

A device can comprise a processor, a memory, an imaging subsystem configured to acquire an image of decodable indicia, a display, and a communication interface. The device can be configured, responsive to acquiring an image of one or more objects within a field of view of the imaging subsystem, to locate within the image and decode one or more decodable indicia. The device can be further configured to display the image on the display and visually mark the one or more successfully decoded decodable indicia. The device can be further configured, responsive to accepting user input selecting at least one decodable indicia of the displayed one or more decodable indicia, to transmit to an external computer at least one decoded message corresponding to the at least one decodable indicia.

Barcode-reading system

This patent specification describes operations of a mobile device with barcode-reading capabilities and an application and license server. A mobile device may include a barcode-reading application downloaded from an application server. The barcode-reading application may operate in a base mode or an enhanced mode. In the base mode, the barcode-reading application may establish a network connection to a licensing server to obtain a license code, and determine at least one operating permission authorized by the license code. In the enhanced mode, the barcode-reading application may implement at least one enhanced barcode-reading function which corresponds to the at least one operating permission authorized by the license code. For example, the enhanced barcode-reading function may be a function of decoding a barcode symbology that the decoder is restricted from decoding in the base mode of operation.

A smart reader and shopping service system and method using a smart reader according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a smart reader which includes an NFC tag and recognizes a product code for a product on a product display stand to obtain a product code and converts the obtained product code into product information to be recorded in the NFC tag, and transmits the recorded product information; a user terminal which includes an NFC reader, obtains the recorded product information through NFC communication between the NFC reader and the smart reader, and checks product order details for the obtained product information to request product payment and product delivery; and a shopping service providing device which manages a product code displayed on the product display stand, processes product payment requested from the user terminal, and manages delivery of the paid product.

PDA TERMINAL AND OPERATION CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
20170271829 · 2017-09-21 ·

A PDA terminal is provided. The PDA terminal includes: a main body; a processor disposed in the main body; a memory accessible by the processor; and a display unit disposed on a front surface of the main body to display information processed by the processor. A rear cover detachable from the main body is disposed on a rear surface of the main body. After the rear cover is removed, a gun handle is usable in a state of being connected to a coupling part formed under the rear cover. Since the gun handle with a switch is usable in a state of being connected to the main body of the PDA terminal, the operation of the PDA operation can be more conveniently used in an industrial site or the like.
