Method to eliminate RFID cross reads for RFID point of sale scanners using imager object tracking

Techniques for eliminating RFID cross-reads for RFID point of sale scanners using imager object tracking are disclosed herein. An example method includes measuring, by an imager a series of displacements of an object from a center of the field of view (FOV) of the imager, over a timeframe; measuring, by an RFID reader, a series of received signal strengths for an RFID tag over the same timeframe; comparing the series of displacements to the series of received signal strengths over the timeframe to determine a measure of similarity between the series of displacements of the object from the center of the FOV of the imager and the series of received signal strengths for the RFID tag over the timeframe; and responsive to the measure of similarity exceeding a threshold measure of similarity, adding a record associated with the RFID tag to a transaction log.

Provided is an inspection machine capable of inspecting even an article that has a substantially circular side surface. The present invention is provided with: a conveyance means for an inspection device, the conveyance means conveying an article; an identification information acquisition means that acquires identification information about a second side surface of the article, the identification information acquisition means being disposed facing the conveyance surface of the conveyance means; an imaging means that captures an image of a first side surface of the article, which is disposed on a side opposing the imaging means across the conveyance means; and a determination means that compares an image captured by the imaging means and the identification information acquired by the identification information acquisition means to determine the degree of matching between the two portions of information, a conveyance member of the conveyance means comprising a material having high transparency.

Barcode readers including illumination assemblies with different color lights

Imaging arrangements and barcode readers including such imaging arrangements. An imaging arrangement for use in a barcode reader includes a housing. The imaging arrangement also includes a light source configured to emit light along a central light axis. The light source is disposed in the housing. The imaging arrangement also includes a lens having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The lens is disposed in the housing. The first surface is configured to face the light source and is structured to substantially collimate light received from the light source into a collimated beam. The second surface includes surface structures structured to generate a patterned beam in response to receiving the collimated beam.

SCANNER WITH PROJECTED HUMAN INTERFACE

Hardware controls associated with features of a scanner are removed, and a combined scanner and transaction terminal is provided without the hardware controls. Operations associated with the removed hardware controls are graphically depicted as selectable window options within scanner-generated windows. The scanner generated windows are provided as a projected human interface for the missing hardware controls. The projected human interface is provided with and accessible from a display that includes transaction windows produced by transaction software of the transaction terminal, such that the selectable window options are always accessible from the display during transaction processing performed by the transaction software.

Multiple field of view (FOV) systems are disclosed herein. An example system includes a bioptic barcode reader having a target imaging region. The bioptic barcode reader includes at least one imager having a first FOV and a second FOV and is configured to capture an image of a target object from each FOV. The example system includes one or more processors configured to receive the images and a trained object recognition model stored in memory communicatively coupled to the one or more processors. The memory includes instructions that, when executed, cause the one or more processors to analyze the images to identify at least a portion of a barcode and one or more features associated with the target object. The instructions further cause the one or more processors to determine a target object identification probability and to determine whether a predicted product identifies the target object.
