WHEELCHAIR FOR IMPROVED MUSCULAR SKELETAL SYSTEM ALIGNMENT
A wheelchair configured to impart motion on one or more lower extremities of a user to inhibit inelasticity in joints of one or more lower extremities as a result of extended immobility, and to promote a more natural alignment of one or more upper extremities of the user during manipulation of the wheelchair. The wheelchair includes a seat and a backrest, at least two ground-engaging wheels, a hand mechanism assembly including a hand grip on each side of the wheelchair, and a foot mechanism assembly including a footrest on each of the wheelchair. When a force is applied to one of the hand grips, the wheels rotate for locomotion, and the foot mechanism assembly is actuated, causing the foot rest on the opposite side from the hand grip to move in an arced path, and vice versa, thereby imparting contralateral locomotion.
Connection joint
An adjustable connection joint has a partially shaped spherical member attached to a first member to be adjusted with respect to a second member. A slidable base member slides in a bushing which is attached to the second member. A bolt extends through a washer that spreads a slotted end of the slidable base member against the bushing. Tightening the bolt pulls a locking member against an inside of the partially spherically shaped member and pulls it against a conical cavity on an end of the slidable member. Tightening the bolt concurrently locks the slidable member in the bushing and locks a position of the partially shaped cylindrical member in the conical cavity at the end of the slidable member.
HEAD SUPPORT ASSEMBLY AND HEAD SUPPORT UNIT
According to an aspect of the presently disclosed subject matter, there is provided a head support assembly attachable to a seat comprising a right frame member and a left frame member. The head support assembly comprising: a right support post and a left support post; a right coupler and a left coupler, articulatable respectively to the right frame member and to the left frame member, and configured for independently arresting the right support post and the left support post, respectively, in a manner facilitating tilting the support post at least partially about a pitch axis extending between the right coupler and the left coupler; and a head support unit articulable to a right top portion of the right support post and to a left top portion of the left support post. The head support assembly of the first aspect is configured to be attached to any seat having right and left frame members, and the head support unit thereof is configured to be mounted to a head of a user seated on the seat for providing support to the head and preventing the head from being tilted forwardly and/or downwardly. In some cases, the head support unit can have a support body which is configured with a front portion to which a head restraint is attachable. In such cases, the head restraint is configured for providing improved head and neck support to a user while seated in the seat.
Adjustable backrest and wheelchair therewith
An adjustable backrest is adapted for a chair frame and includes a first pivoting component, a second pivoting component, a backrest sliding assembly and a backrest connecting component. The second pivoting component is pivoted to the first pivoting component. The backrest sliding assembly is slidably disposed on the first pivoting component. The backrest connecting component is disposed between the first pivoting component and the second pivoting component. A first end of the backrest connecting component is pivoted to the backrest sliding assembly. A second end of the backrest connecting component is pivoted to the second pivoting component. The backrest sliding assembly drives the second pivoting component to pivot relative to the first pivoting component by the backrest connecting component when the at least one backrest sliding assembly slides relative to the first pivoting component, so as to support a user's back portion at different angles.
EXOSKELETON WHEELCHAIR SYSTEM
An exoskeleton wheelchair system includes a base, one or more wheels coupled to the base, a body support connected to the base comprising: a back support; and one or more leg supports pivotally coupled to the back support, and a gait wheel linked with the one or more leg supports via one or more gait linkages and configured to rotate the one or more leg supports. The one or more leg supports are configured to pivot about a first axis when the back support is in a standing position mode. The back support is maintained at a fixed position relative to a location of the base when the one or more leg supports pivot about the first axis while the back support is in the standing position mode.

Disposable kit
Arrangements described herein relate to systems, apparatuses, and methods for a disposable kit containing medical items configured for a medical device including a head cradle to support a head of a subject, the disposable kit includes a container that encloses a head cradle pad configured to be affixed to the head cradle, at least one fiducial marker configured to be disposed on a location at the head of the subject, and at least one enclosure configured to cover a portion of the medical device.
Folding human mobility device
A conveyance to carry humans, such as a wheelchair, is described having levers on each side of the wheelchair that are manually moved forward and backward to propel the conveyance. The user is able to shift into forward, reverse or neutral, brake, and change mechanical advantage (gear ratio), all this without removing the user's hands from the drive levers.
Adjustable back support
An adjustable back support for a mobility device includes a first adjustable back support assembly including a first support member and a second support member, and a second adjustable back support assembly. The first support member is moveably connected to the second adjustable back support assembly, the first support member being configured to pivot relative to the second adjustable back support assembly relative to a first axis of rotation, and the second support member is moveably connected to the first support member, the second support member being configured to pivot relative to the first support member relative to a second axis of rotation that is not parallel to the first axis of rotation.
Breast Pumping System
A breast pumping assembly is provided. The assembly allows for a breast pumping mother to be optimally positioned and comfortable while pumping breast milk, leading to quicker and more effective pumping. The breast pumping assembly is adjustable to adapt for different sized mothers and changing body size and shape as pumping progresses.
