MEDICAL SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH STAND ASSISTANCE
A chair includes a control system for moving the chair between seated and standing configurations to thereby help facility an occupant's egress out of, or ingress into, the chair. One or more controls are provided on the chair that enable the occupant to control the timing of when the chair's movement between the configurations starts, what speed the chair moves at, and when the chair stops. A caregiver control panel provides the caregiver with multiple options for dictating what aspects of the chair's movement between the configurations the occupant is able to control. In some embodiments, a controller dynamically adjusts the speed of the chair based on shifts in the occupant's weight during the transition between the standing and seated configurations, as detected by one or more force sensors. The force sensors may be integrated into the armrests, the seat, the backrest, a combination of these, or elsewhere.
Wheelchair with security features
Wheelchair designs and enhancements are provided for use with conventional wheelchair design. The designs and enhancements include bariatric extension panels and security features making it suitable for use in high security areas such as prisons and psychiatric wards.
External Structural Brace Apparatus
An external structural brace apparatus for supporting a user in a semi standing position on a surface includes first and second support extension beams that to attach to the surface, also included is a channel having a base with first and second legs, wherein the first and second legs extend in the same direction from opposing sides of the base, the first leg is affixed to the first support structure and the second leg is affixed to the second support structure, the channel can be lockably positioned along the first and second beams. In addition, a saddle seat with a midpoint extension portion, the saddle is attached between the first and second legs and positioned such that the midpoint extension extends opposite of the base, wherein operationally the user partially rests their buttocks on the saddle and leans their back against the base to assume a semi supported standing posture.
AUXILIARY DRIVE DEVICE FOR A WHEELCHAIR
An auxiliary drive device for a wheelchair has at least one freely pivotable electrically driven drive wheel and a coupling mechanism for coupling the auxiliary drive device to the wheelchair. The coupling mechanism includes a movable locking element which is movably supported in the coupling mechanism. The movable locking element can be in a locking position in which it causes locking in a positive-locking manner so that the auxiliary drive device is coupled to the wheelchair and, by operation of a handle, the locking element can be moved in a release position in which uncoupling of the auxiliary drive device from the wheelchair is possible.
WHEELCHAIR BRAKE SYSTEM
A wheelchair brake system comprises: a brake which is provided in a wheel of a wheelchair; and a brake actuation controller which connects with the brake and locks and releases the brake, wherein the brake is usually in a lock mode, but the brake actuation controller controls the brake to be switched over from the lock mode to a release mode if sensing that a user sits down on the wheelchair or the wheelchair is folded up.
WHEELCHAIR SELECTIVELY ENGAGEABLE WITH HOVERBOARD
A transportation device having a chassis which includes seat and back portions for an occupant, a drive frame portion, and an engagement frame portion. The drive frame portion includes a drive system, and is able to selectively the engagement frame portion. The hoverboard is able to selectively engage the engagement frame portion and electronically communicates with the drive system to bypass a gyroscope of the hoverboard. The chassis, including the drive frame portion, is able to selectively disengage with the engagement frame portion, while it is engaged to the hoverboard, for easier transportation.
Seat for a stair lift
A seat for a stair lift, which seat is provided with a fall protection device comprising at least one elongate safety bar which is movable between an open position and a closed position, in which open position a person can freely move into and out of the seat, wherein the safety bar is movably connected to an elongate support that is stationarily connected to the seat, which support extends on a side of the seat, wherein the fall protection device is designed so that in the open position the safety bar takes up a rearward position, in which it extends substantially parallel to and beside the support, and that in the closed position the safety bar takes up a forwardly moved (along the support), inwardly pivoted or rotated position, in which it extends from the front end of the support, in which position it can be locked, such that a person cannot fall out of the seat.
Lift chair and seat
A lift chair includes a lift mechanism that maintains a continuous seating position during forward and elevated movement by supporting the occupant's seat, arms and back. The mobile section of the chair will also lower the occupant to the normal seating height. The gel cushion seating surface is attached at least to the moveable section of the lift chair. The gel cushion seating surface of the chair has a plurality of gel cushion cylinders arranged in a grid that provide a rhythmically changing support area at multiple points on the occupant's buttocks and thighs. This provides a comforting massage which reduces stress on the body associated with prolonged seating.
Wheelchair Lift Assembly
A wheelchair lift assembly includes a wheelchair. The wheelchair has a pair of seats and a frame. Each of the seats is hingedly coupled to the frame. Each of the seats is positionable in a stored position having each of the seats being horizontally oriented on the frame. Each of the seats is positionable in a lifted position having the each of the seats hinging upwardly from the upper front member. A lifting unit is coupled to the wheelchair. The lifting unit selectively urges each of the seats between the stored position and the lifted position. Thus, the lifting unit may lift a user thereby facilitating the user to exit the wheelchair.
Dynamic furniture
Dynamic furniture for supporting a seated or reclining user includes a base, an actuator assembly supported by the base, a front boom in circular orbital connection to a portion of the base, a rear boom in circular orbital connection to another portion of the base, a seat platform supported by the actuator assembly, and a back platform supported by the actuator assembly. The seat platform and the back platform are capable of remaining stationary relative to the actuator assembly while the actuator assembly moves relative to the base. The seat platform and the back platform are also capable of moving relative to the actuator assembly while the actuator assembly remains stationary relative to the base. The seat platform and the back platform are also capable of moving relative to the actuator assembly while the actuator assembly moves relative to the base.
