A system, method, and computer-readable medium for accessing information associated with items within a multi-dimensional space, comprising: scanning a plurality of multi-dimensional symbols, each of the plurality of multi-dimensional symbols being scanned from a plurality of angles; identifying each of the plurality of multi-dimensional symbols for each angle; and storing information identifying each of the plurality of multi-dimensional symbols for each angle in an encoded geometry repository.

Method for encoding a packaging container, and encoded packaging container for consumer goods

The invention relates to a method for encoding a dimensionally stable packaging container or an associated constituent made of plastics material, wherein the packaging container is suitable for storing consumer goods such as food, detergents, etc., wherein a film-shaped, flat plastics material for forming the three-dimensional packaging container or the associated constituent is deep-drawn using a tool mold while, at a plurality of positions, the outer sides or the inner sides thereof undergo a first shape-changing treatment acting on the first surface thereof for producing a plurality of three-dimensional codes.

A container includes: a container body; a cap to seal the container body; an identification code on a top surface of the cap; and multiple concaves on the container body. The multiple concaves on the container body forms a first image having a first area, the identification code on the cap forms a second image having a second area smaller than the first area, the container body has a first diffuse reflectance difference between the first image and a portion excluding the first image, and the identification code has a second diffuse reflectance difference between a code portion and a background portion excluding the code portion in the second image. The second diffuse reflectance difference is larger than the first diffuse reflectance difference.

A code display medium includes a code image display portion which arranges a plurality of code images side by side in a circumferential direction around an axis of screw fastening and which displays the plurality of code images so as to be optically readable, each of the plurality of code images including identification information for identifying at least one of a fastening material for the screw fastening and/or an object to be fastened by the screw fastening and a fixing portion which fixes the code image display portion to a position that is on the object to be fastened and that can be simultaneously captured with the fastening material in a state where the screw fastening is performed.

Composite matrix code array

A computer-readable code array comprises a first three-dimensional module and second three-dimensional module. The first three-dimensional module comprises a first face and a second face. A state of the first face encodes a pixel of a first computer-readable code. A state of the second face encodes a pixel of a second computer-readable code. The second three-dimensional module comprises a third face and a fourth face. A state of the third face encodes a second pixel of the first computer-readable code. A state of the second face encodes a second pixel of the second computer-readable code.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING METAL PRODUCT AND METAL PRODUCT

A method of manufacturing a metal product comprise forming a base region on a surface of a metal member by repeatedly scanning along a predetermined first direction while irradiating the surface of the metal member with a base laser beam over a first set of rows. The method further comprises forming a marking by repeatedly scanning along a predetermined second direction while irradiating the surface of the metal member with a marking laser beam over a second set of rows. The second direction is different from the first direction. An identification code having a predetermined pattern comprises a combination of the base region and the marking.

Methods and Apparatus for Encoding Data in Notched Shapes

A notched 2D shape may encode information. For instance, a physical tag may display, form or include a polygon that is modified by notches and by one or more holes. This notched 2D shape may encode data that identifies, or provides information regarding, a physical product to which the tag is physically attached. Alternatively, this notched 2D shape may encode any other type of information, such as information about what we sometimes call a product shape or shape matrix. The notched shape may be an octagon that is modified by notches and by one or more holes.

Applying and Using Unique Unclonable Physical Identifiers

In a general aspect, unique unclonable physical identifiers are applied and used. A method of applying the unique marker can include receiving an object having a surface feature and forming a unique marker on the surface feature of the object. The unique marker includes a distribution of elements and conforms with a morphology of the surface feature. The method further includes extracting orientation information from the unique marker. The orientation information can indicate relative spatial orientations of the respective elements. The method additionally includes generating a unique code for the object based on the orientation information. The surface feature can be facets, surface patterns, textures, or other indentations of the object. The surface feature can include a region of the object that is susceptible to tampering.

Systems and methods for cash verification and remote deposit are provided. A method may include receiving credentials to authenticate a login to a mobile app that is associated with a first financial entity; receiving an instruction to deposit a bill of cash at a physical location associated with a second financial entity that is different from the first financial entity; illuminating a front face of the bill; capturing an image of the illuminated front face; illuminating a back face of the bill; capturing an image of the illuminated back face; extracting a first tier of features from the images; determining a denomination and/or version of the bill; when the denomination and/or version exceeds a predetermined first threshold, extracting a second tier of features; when all of the extracted features are associated with the same denomination and/or version, and all of the features that are associated with said denomination and/or version are detected, verifying the bill; and when the bill is verified and a message is received, from the second financial entity, confirming that the second financial entity received the bill, depositing an amount corresponding to the denomination in an account at the first financial entity.
