Scheduling techniques for spatio-temporal environments
Approaches for determining scheduling assignments for the movement of people along a multi-segment path from a starting location to a destination location, are used to manage crowds, predict crowd behavior, and mitigate crowd turbulence. For example, to mitigate crowd congestion, routing solutions specifying an amount of time to spend at a destination and a departure time can be provided. Itinerary assignments, crowd data, and data associated with an event can be analyzed and weighted to determine scheduling assignments. Scheduling assignments can be validated against current crowd data and event data. Current crowd data and event data and crowd simulation can be used to predict future crowd behavior or crowd problems. Scheduling assignments can be rescheduled to mitigate crowd problems or emergencies.
System for automatically balancing anticipated infrastructure demands
A system includes a controller device and an infrastructure management subsystem. The controller device receives a selection of an anticipated future change to one or more characteristics of a baseline demand. The infrastructure management subsystem receives the baseline demand and the anticipated future change to the one or more characteristics of the baseline demand. The infrastructure management subsystem determines an anticipated turbulence. The anticipated turbulence includes a quantitative indication of anticipated fluctuations in future infrastructure demand as a function of time. The infrastructure management subsystem determines a counter-balancing turbulence for the anticipated turbulence. The counter-balancing turbulence comprises counter-balancing fluctuations that destructively interfere with the anticipated fluctuations of the anticipated turbulence. The infrastructure management subsystem determines one or more infrastructure configurations indicating a distribution of computing resources amongst users in order to achieve the counter-balancing turbulence. One of the determined infrastructure configurations is automatically implemented.
ORDER PROCESSING METHOD, OUTBOUND METHOD, DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
The present disclosure provides an order processing method, an outbound method, a device, a system, and a storage medium. A server obtains a slot capacity of each workstation and a preset virtual capacity, determines a to-be-processed order of each workstation according to the slot capacity and the virtual capacity, and generates an outbound instruction according to the to-be-processed order. A transfer device transfers goods in the to-be-processed order from the warehouse according to the outbound instruction.
EXECUTING AN ENERGY TRANSFER DIRECTIVE FOR AN IDLE TRANSPORT
An example operation includes one or more of determining, by a transport at a first location, that the transport is not in use, determining, by the transport, a second location to transfer energy stored in the transport, maneuvering, by the transport, to the second location, discharging, by the transport, the stored energy to the second location, and maneuvering, by the transport, to the first location.
SPACE UTILIZATION PATTERNS FOR BUILDING OPTIMIZATION
Occupancy data over time is received for each of several spaces within a building from occupancy sensors that are disposed within each of the spaces. An occupancy value is determined for each of at least some of the several spaces based on the received occupancy data, each occupancy value representative of a percent of time that the respective space was occupied over an identified period of time. The space that had a highest occupancy value over the identified period of time is identified. A utilization value is determined for each of the spaces, wherein the utilization value is representative of a ratio of the occupancy value of the respective space and the highest occupancy value. An operation of the building is changed based at least in part on the utilization value of at least one of the plurality of spaces.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DECOMPOSITION IN WORKFORCE OPTIMIZATION WITH SEARCH SUB-PROBLEMS
Systems and methods are provided for solving workforce management scheduling optimization decomposing and iteratively. Execution of a master problem can occur to select a best schedule among generated schedules for each employee of a group of employees while enforcing one or more global constraints. The generated schedule can be determined by execution of one or more sub-problems, each of the one or more sub-problems can be enforced work rules for the respective employee through the use of reduced cost for the employee. A flexible objective function can be executed to account for workforce management schedule wide metrics, including fitness of schedule to demand, fairness among the group of employees, schedule preferences and others.
OPERATION MANAGEMENT METHOD, OPERATION MANAGEMENT APPARATUS, AND OPERATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
An operation management method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is a method, performed by an operation management apparatus, for managing operation of a plurality of vehicles for passenger transportation. The operation management method includes selecting, upon detecting an occurrence of a predetermined event, one vehicle from among the plurality of vehicles each traveling a predetermined first route, determining a second route different from the first route, and switching a route traveled by the selected vehicle from the first route to the second route.
DASHBOARD FOR MULTI SITE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A multi-site Building Management System (BMS) monitors performance of a local BMS at each of a plurality of remote sites. The multi-site BMS includes a controller that is configured to determine a plurality of local performance metrics associated with each local BMS based on the operational data received from each local BMS and to aggregate like ones of the plurality of local performance metrics, resulting in a plurality of aggregated performance metrics. The controller is configured to display on the display a plurality of panels, to display in each of the plurality of panels the corresponding one of the plurality of aggregated performance metrics and to display in each of the plurality of panels a ranking of one or more of the remote sites by their corresponding local performance metric.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENHANCED VIRTUAL QUEUING
A system and method for managing virtual queues. A cloud-based queue service manages a plurality of queues hosted by one or more entities. The queue service is in constant communication with the entities providing queue management, queue analysis, and queue recommendations. The queue service is likewise in direct communication with queued persons. Sending periodic updates while also motivating and incentivizing punctuality and minimizing wait times based on predictive analysis. The predictive analysis uses “Big Data” and other available data resources, for which the predictions assist in the balancing of persons across multiple queues for the same event or multiple persons across a sequence of queues for sequential events.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SENSOR-BASED OPERATOR FATIGUE MANAGEMENT
A system for monitoring a fatigue level of an operator of a vehicle includes a sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of a physiological state of the operator; a display for the operator; and a controller to: receive, from the sensor, the signal; determine the fatigue level of the operator by analyzing the received signal using an algorithm developed using operator fatigue statistics; generate a real-time fatigue report for the operator based on the determined fatigue level of the operator; transmit the generated real-time fatigue report to the display for the operator for display to the operator, and a display for a dispatcher for the vehicle for display to the dispatcher; generate an anonymized version of the real-time fatigue report; and transmit the anonymized version of the real-time fatigue report to a cloud for access by remote users.
