LOCAL CACHE-BASED IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM
20240046732 · 2024-02-08 ·

An identification system uses a local cache for performing identifications. An identity system device may store identity information and identification information. An electronic device stores a cache of a portion of the identity information and a part of the identification information. The electronic device receives user input, determines an identity by comparing the user input to the cached identification information (such as by comparing a received digital representation of a biometric with cached biometric identification information), and performs an action using information in the cached identity information that is associated with the identity. The electronic device may update the identity information stored by the identity system device based on the action.

Exception handling in cellular authentication

A cellular terminal transmits a request that requires authentication procedure triggering to a cellular network and responsively receives from the cellular network an authentication request message with an indication of a selected cryptographic algorithm from a group of a plurality of cryptographic algorithms. The cellular terminal attempts to decode the authentication request message to a decoded authentication request according to the selected cryptographic algorithm and based on a shared secret known by the cellular terminal and a network operator of the cellular terminal. The cellular terminal produces a determination whether the attempt was successful and the cellular terminal supports the selected cryptographic algorithm in authenticating to the cellular network; and in case the determination is positive, based on the decoded authentication request, the shared secret and the selected cryptographic algorithm, produces and encrypts an authentication response message and transmits the authentication response message to the cellular network; and in case the determination is not positive, produces and sends to the cellular network a failure report.

POS payment terminal and a method of direct debit payment transaction using a mobile communication device, such as a mobile phone

A POS payment terminal (1) using a mobile communication device (4), such as a mobile phone, is created over a temporary connection between the merchant's Sales Device (2) with the removable memory card (18), where the removable memory card (18) is inserted into the customer's slot of the mobile communication device (4). The Sales Device (2) contains a secure memory (6) with the POS terminal's identification data in the form of a SAM card or an ICC card (9) or directly in the form of a secure element on the circuit printed. The payment terminal (1) is created before or during the payment process over a temporary connection between a Sales Device (2) with a mobile communication device (4), which is held by the customer and which has a removable memory card that can have an independent communication element, especially of the NFC type. The payment cryptogram is of standard form, e.g. in the EMV format and it is sent online or offline in batches to the payment processing center (15) according to the amount paid and the preset risk management.

MOBILE DEVICE CONTAINING CONTACTLESS PAYMENT DEVICE

An apparatus such as a mobile phone includes a contactless smart card or payment device, where the smart card is intended for use in both commerce transaction payment and transit fare payment (or other venue access) environments. The payment device may function as both an electronic wallet for commerce transactions and as a transit system card, for access to and fare payment of transit services. Implementation of both functions may be achieved by use of a dynamic memory management system that permits data for both the payment and transit applications to be stored on the card, with the transit data and storage locations isolated from those used to store data intended for use in paying for commerce transactions. The transit application specific data may include access control data (keys, passwords, identification data) or data required for fare calculations (rates, historical data on system use), for example.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANSACTION SECURITY ENHANCEMENT

Various embodiments include a first detection being made that a first program residing on a device is requesting authentication. The first program resides in a first portion of the device. An authentication step can be performed by referencing a unique identifier accessible via a request sent by the first program to a second program residing on the device, where the second program resides in a second portion of the mobile device. The second portion has a greater level of security than the first portion (e.g. physical separation may exist between the first and second portions). Accordingly, integrity of the first program can be verified (e.g. an authentic, authorized version of a program is making a transaction request rather than an unauthorized version).

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMAGE CAPTURE VECTOR FORMAT LASERING ENGINE

A transaction card construction and computer-implemented methods for a transaction card are described. The transaction card has vector formatted visible information lasered onto its surface. In some embodiments, systems and methods are disclosed for enabling the sourcing of visible information using a scalable vector format. The systems and methods may receive a request to add a first plurality of visible information to a transaction card and capture an image of the first plurality of visible information. The systems and methods may also map the image to a bounding box and convert the mapped image into vector format. In addition, the systems and methods may provide the converted image to a laser machine.
