SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTHORIZING FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS WITH ONLINE MERCHANTS
20180276936 · 2018-09-27 ·

A system for authorizing a financial transaction of a financial presentation device such as a credit or debit card being presented from a customer to an online merchant. The system includes a peripheral device having a processor configured to generate a dynamic verification value for the card which changes for each financial transaction, and to transmit the dynamic verification value to a user computer via an I/O interface during an online transaction. The system also includes an authentication computer having a memory for storing information used to generate a comparison verification value, a communication device for receiving the dynamic verification value originating from the peripheral device, a processor and an authentication module executable by the processor adapted to generate the comparison verification value using information stored in memory. The authentication computer determines whether to authorize the financial transaction based on whether the comparison verification value matches the received dynamic verification value.

USING LOCATION-BASED MAPPING TO ENABLE AUTOMATED INFORMATION TRANSFER AT A USER LOCATION

In some implementations, an automated information transfer system may receive an indication of a location of the user device. The automated information transfer system may identify an interacting entity associated with the automated information transfer that is associated with a physical location that is within a threshold proximity of the location of the user device. The automated information transfer system may receive item-specific data associated with the automated information transfer. The automated information transfer system may identify one or more interaction terminals at the physical location associated with the interacting entity. The automated information transfer system may receive authorization information associated with the automated information transfer. The automated information transfer system may perform an action based on whether the authorization information indicates that the automated information transfer is at least one of authorized, conditionally authorized, not authorized, or conditionally not authorized.

FRAUD DETECTION AND PREVENTION SYSTEM

Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for detecting and preventing suspicious payment card authorization attempts at a merchant level. A computing device may receive a plurality of authorization attempts and store the plurality of authorization attempts in a database. Each authorization attempt may correspond to an attempted transaction and may be associated with a respective merchant. The computing device may generate a database query configured to retrieve a first plurality of authorization attempts corresponding to a first merchant. The database query may be generated based on first criteria corresponding to a first notification rule, and the first criteria may be configured to detect a pattern of authorization attempts at a given merchant and associated with a potential account testing attack. The computing device may determine a suspicious status for the merchant and perform one or more actions associated with the merchant.

SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR ECO-CONSCIOUS AUTHENTICATIONS

A computer-implemented method for transmitting electronic data. The method may include receiving a user data set for a user, wherein the user data set includes a user identifier and one or more user authentications for one or more entities, each entity of the one or more entities having an entity eco-friendly score, determining a user eco-friendly score for the user based on the one or more user authentications and a respective one or more entity eco-friendly scores, modifying a data store server to store the user identifier and the eco-friendly score for the user, generating a targeted event associated with a user medium, based on the user eco-friendly score, and transmitting, to a user device of the user, the targeted event via the user medium.

The present invention relates to virtual code-based control system, method and program, a control device and a control signal generating means. A control method on the basis of a control signal comprising a virtual code according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a control signal receiving step for a control module receiving, from a control signal generating means, a control signal generated by means of combining a plurality of specific codes in accordance with a particular rule; a step for the control module extracting the plurality of specific codes comprised in the virtual code; and a command searching step for the control module searching for a storage location comprising a particular command on the basis of the plurality of specific codes.

Folding contactless card payment authentication

A folding mechanism is used to authenticate purchases when making transactions using a contactless smart card. By folding the contactless card in a precise manner, the electrical resistance of the antenna circuit of the contactless card is changed by bypassing the card's built-in resistors. A user may set a folding orientation as the password of the contactless card. This folding orientation determines the electrical resistance of the card necessary to authenticate a purchase.

Regulating fraud probability models

An automated purchase transaction analyzes a purchase transaction using a probability model to determine a probability that the transaction is fraudulent. If the probability exceeds a threshold, the transaction may be manually reviewed to determine whether to freeze the account associated with the transaction. When introducing the model, the threshold may be set to a relatively high value so that a small number of transactions are submitted for manual review. After a period of time, the observed freeze rate resulting from manual reviews is compared to a target freeze rate. The threshold is then adjusted upwardly or downwardly to decrease the difference between the observed and target freeze rates.

Automatic data transfer

A first request for a transfer of data is transmitted in response to the use of a user device; it is determined that the first request for the transfer of data has been declined; an event is detected that indicates that the transfer of data in response to the use of the user device can be accepted; and a second request for the transfer of data is transmitted in dependence on detecting that the event has occurred.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD

In the present invention a fee payment gateway (GW) 12 manages a money pool which collectively holds money to be paid to a plurality of individuals by a fee payment company A, which is a money payment agent. In response to a request from a company terminal 200a, the fee payment GW 12 stores payment information specifying the IDs of individuals, that is, money payment destinations, and payment amounts. When an individual's ID is input from an ATM 20a and a plurality of items of payment information specifying that individual's ID are being stored, the fee payment GW 12 withdraws from the money pool of the fee payment company A the total amount of the payment amounts specified by the plurality of items of payment information, and dispenses that total amount from the ATM 20a.

Systems and methods for processing off-network transaction messages

A computer-implemented method for applying payment services to a payment transaction over a first payment network using a payment services computer system hosted on a second payment network is provided. The method includes receiving a service request at the payment services computer system from a requestor. The service request has a first format that is readable by the second payment network. The method includes determining, at the payment services computer system, the payment services the service request is registered to receive. The method includes processing the service request by applying the registered payment services to the service request. The method includes generating, at the payment services computer system, a services response. The services response is generated based on the registered payment services and the payment transaction data. The method additionally includes transmitting the services response to at least one of the cardholder and the requestor.
