One method includes: receiving a consumer identification, an issuer identification, and transaction information from a point of sale system when the loyalty card is presented for a transaction of a good or service at a merchant, identifying the network node containing distributed ledger associated with the issuer according to received issuer identification prompting, to participants of the shared ledger, to validate whether the consumer distributed ledger has required loyalty points for the transaction; if all of the participants of the shared ledger accepts the transaction, generating, a new immutable entry to the distributed ledger for the transaction with remaining loyalty points in the loyalty card after deducting the points required for the transaction; and sending a transaction approved message to the point of sale system at the merchant.

The present disclosure provides a multi-tenant loyalty platform for selective configuration of loyalty programs in a multi-tenant environment. An example platform comprises a processor and a memory storing instructions which, when executed by the processor, configure the multi-tenant loyalty platform to: cause presentation of loyalty program options to a first tenant in a multi-tenant environment; receive, from the first tenant, first order data relating to a selected program configuration; cause presentation of loyalty program options to a second tenant; receive, from the second tenant, second order data different from the first order data; store the first and second order data in a loyalty program data structure that includes loyalty program rules specific to each of the first and second tenants and the respective first and second loyalty programs; and configure the first and second loyalty programs using data stored in the loyalty program data structure.

A system and control method are provided for encouraging patron use of washrooms at commercial establishments. A plurality of commercial establishments are enrolled in a washroom rewards program, as well as patrons that may frequent or visit such establishments. Respective point values in the washroom rewards program are established for defined washroom activities performed by the patrons in the washrooms of the commercial establishments. The identity and location of the commercial establishments are provided to the patrons. Upon the patrons performing one of the defined washroom activities in one of the commercial establishments, the patron is identified and awarded credit of the points for the defined activity to a player account assigned to the patron. Provisions are made for the patrons to redeem accumulated points in their respective account for an award.

Finally, the method includes sending, by the server computing device, a notification to the client computing device updating the payment application with the one or more rewards-based payment requests having been applied to the transaction.

Current technologies employed by rewards, gift card and e-coupon (incentive programs) have proven to be susceptible to fraud and high program costs. Of paramount concern is the current ease with which criminals can steal value belonging to legitimate incentive holders from retailers and service providers. The inventors, through embodiments of this invention, address these issues by using a fixed-value cryptographic token, immutable distributed ledger technology, Self-Sovereign Identity, and strong authentication integrated into a digital wallet. The tokens, as embodied in the invention, are variable, redeemable, transferable, exchangeable, and multi-use. They can offer discounts, instant rewards, and other incentives. With ownership of the tokens powered by Self-Sovereign Identity, the tokens, and the distributed ledger ensure that incentives are delivered to, and redeemed by the intended recipient. One of the invention claims describes how the system and tokens are used by retailers and manufacturers to provide rewards to consumers in exchange for completing surveys, offering preferences, and providing transaction data.

Embodiments provide a method of integrating a loyalty program with a payment card of a customer. In some implementations, the method includes sending, by a merchant terminal, a payment transaction request to a server system associated with a payment network. The payment transaction request includes a payment transaction amount to be paid to a merchant account from an issuer account of the customer and a consumer identifier linked to the loyalty program associated with the merchant loyalty card. The method includes receiving a notification comprising a payment transaction approval message and a machine-readable script through the payment network. The machine-readable script comprises the consumer identifier and is executable by the merchant terminal. The method further includes storing the consumer identifier associated with the merchant loyalty card with existing customer data in the payment card of the customer by executing the machine-readable script thereby integrating the loyalty program with the payment card.

Systems and methods for reward account processing using a distributed ledger are disclosed. According one embodiment, at a node in a distributed ledger network for a plurality of reward program participants, the node comprising at least one computer processor, a method for reward account processing using a distributed ledger may include: (1) receiving a request to withdraw an amount of reward points from a customer account for a customer maintained by a distributed ledger; (2) retrieving, from the distributed ledger, a reward points balance for the customer account; (3) verifying that the reward points balance in the customer account is greater than the amount of reward points to be withdrawn; (4) writing a deduction of the amount of reward points from the reward points balance in the customer account to the distributed ledger; and (5) causing a financial instrument to be issued in response to the deduction.

The wireless device provides a suggestion of at least one of the plurality of financial account cards to use in the transaction based on the determined rewards benefit information.
