Measurement of television advertisement effectiveness

Apparatuses, methods, and storage media for determining effectiveness of an advertisement are described. In one instance, an apparatus for determining effectiveness of an advertisement may include a digital device matching engine, communicatively coupled to the processors, to receive and process information obtained from a web site accessed by a digital device, and to match the digital device to a TV set, based at least in part on the processed information. The apparatus may further include a conversion determination engine, communicatively coupled to the processors, to determine a level of conversion associated with an advertisement rendered by a broadcasting media to the TV set, based at least in part on the matching of the digital device to the TV set. The apparatus may be configured to provide recommendations to advertisement regarding the effectiveness of their advertising campaign. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Method for determining validity of delivering of promotion information, monitoring server and terminal

A method for determining effectiveness of placing promotion information includes: characteristic information sent by multiple terminals is received to obtain multiple pieces of characteristic information, the characteristic information being obtained by monitoring promotion information by the terminals respectively and the characteristic information including specified accounts of a social application or terminal information; statistics on a total number of exposures of and a total number of clicks on the promotion information is made based on the characteristic information; user attributes corresponding to the terminals are determined to obtain multiple user attributes based on the characteristic information; statistics on a number of hit exposures of the promotion information is made based on the multiple user attributes and a target user attribute of the promotion information; and effectiveness of placing the promotion information is determined based on the number of hit exposures, the total number of exposures and the total number of clicks.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFICATION OF MULTIMEDIA CONTENT ELEMENTS

A system and method for identifying multimedia content elements are presented. The method includes generating a signature for an unknown multimedia content element (MMCE), wherein the unknown MMCE is a portion of a multimedia content item; comparing a signature of the unknown MMCE to a signature cluster of at least one concept to determine whether each of the at least one concepts is proximate to the unknown MMCE; for each proximate concept, determining a probability that the at least one proximate concept identifies the unknown MMCE; and identifying the MMCE based on the determined probabilities of the at least one proximate concept.

Systems and methods for building a device graph for cooperative device identification are disclosed. Various information is received at a computing system over a communications network, include information defining a relationship between (i) a unique identifier associated with a first device of a user and (ii) a unique identifier associated with the user, and information defining a relationship between (i) a unique identifier associated with a second device of the user and (ii) the unique identifier associated with the user. The unique identifiers associated with the devices are each mapped to the platform-wide identifier based at least in part on the unique user identifier. A device graph comprising a plurality of device nodes is constructed, with related device nodes connected by one or more edges. Nodes representing the devices are linked based on a relationship identified between them using the platform-wide identifier.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO DETERMINE IMPRESSIONS USING DISTRIBUTED DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION

Methods and apparatus to determine media impressions using distributed demographic information are disclosed. An example method to monitor media exposure involves receiving a first request from a client device at an intermediary serving a first sub-domain of a first internet domain, the first request to be indicative of access to media at the client device; transmitting, from the intermediary, first data associated with the first request to a data collection server of an audience measurement entity and second data about the first request to an entity of the first internet domain; and in response to determining that the first request does not include a user identifier associated with the first internet domain, sending a first response from the intermediary to the client device, the first response to instruct the client device to send a second request to a second intermediary associated with a second sub-domain of a second internet domain, the second request indicative of the access to the media at the client device.

Techniques to allow advertising or other secondary content to be dismissed for later follow up are disclosed. In various embodiments, a user input associated with dismissing a displayed content for later follow up is received. Display of the content item discontinued and a follow up record is stored based at least in part on the indication. The follow up record is used to provide to a user with which the user input is associated a follow up content associated with the dismissed content.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR ESTIMATING TOTAL UNIQUE AUDIENCES

Methods and apparatus for determining a unique audience exposed to media while reducing memory resources of a computing device are disclosed herein. Example instructions cause a machine to at least, based on impression requests from a plurality of client devices via a network, log a plurality of impressions corresponding to media accessed at the client devices; obtain a count of demographic impressions logged by a database proprietor; obtain a count of registered users of the database proprietor exposed to the media; and execute a process to determine a unique audience size by multiplying a count of the plurality of impressions by a square of the count of the registered users to generate a product; dividing the product by the count of the demographic impressions to generate a quotient; and determining the unique audience size based on a square root of the quotient.
