MEDIA USAGE MONITORING AND MEASUREMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
Media monitoring and measurement systems and methods are disclosed. Some embodiments of the present invention provide a media measurement system and method that utilizes audience data to enhance content identifications. Some embodiments analyze media player log data to enhance content identification. Other embodiments of the present invention analyze sample sequence data to enhance content identifications. Other embodiments analyze sequence data to enhance content identification and/or to establish channel identification. Yet other embodiments provide a system and method in which sample construction and selection parameters are adjusted based upon identification results. Yet other embodiments provide a method in which play-altering activity of an audience member is deduced from content offset values of identifications corresponding to captured samples. Yet other embodiments provide a monitoring and measurement system in which a media monitoring device is adapted to receive a wireless or non-wireless audio signal from a media player, the audio signal also being received wirelessly by headphones of a user of the monitoring device.
PACING OBJECTIVES OF AN ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN THROUGHOUT A DURATION OF THE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN
An advertiser specifies an advertising campaign along with a budget, a duration and one or more objectives associated with the advertising campaign. An online system presenting advertisements from the advertising campaign determines an interval representing a portion of the duration, an interval budget, and one or more interval objectives. Historical information describing selection and presentation of advertisements by the online system is retrieved, and used to determine one or more filters limiting the number of opportunities to present an advertisement in which advertisements from the advertising campaign are included. The scaling filters may be based on the one or more interval objectives, bid amounts determined for advertisements in the advertising campaign, and bid amounts associated with advertisements previously selected for presentation form the historical data.
Cloud-based item storage system
A system for storing items may include a refrigerator comprising a scanner that is positioned to scan codes from packaging of items as they are placed into the refrigerator or removed from the refrigerator, a cloud storage system that maintains a list of items in the refrigerator, wherein the cloud storage system is programmed to receive, from the refrigerator, the list of items in the refrigerator; and a trash bin comprising a scanner that is positioned to scan codes from the packaging of items as they are placed into the trash bin.
Method for identification of multimedia content elements and adding advertising content respective thereof
A method and system for adding advertising content to multimedia content elements. The method comprises receiving a request from a user device to identify a multimedia content element, the request including the multimedia content element; generating at least one signature respective of the multimedia content element; identifying at least one concept matching the at least one signature; determining at least one identifier associated with the multimedia content element respective of the at least one matching concept; searching a database to identify at least one advertising content item associated with the at least one identifier; and sending the at least one advertising content item together with the at least one identifier upon determination that the at least one advertising content item is associated with the at least one identifier.
Methods and apparatus to associate audience members with over-the-top device media impressions
Methods and apparatus to associate audience members with over-the-top device media impressions. An example audience measurement apparatus includes a reporting message receiver to receive a first reporting message from a client device coupled to a residential gateway having an internet protocol (IP) address. An AME ID determiner is to assign an audience measurement entity (AME) identifier to the IP address provided by the received first reporting message. A redirect instructor is to send a redirect instruction to the client device to cause the client device to send a second reporting message to a database proprietor, the redirect instruction to include the AME identifier and the IP address. A DP message reporting receiver is to receive, in response to the sent redirect instruction, a third reporting message from the database proprietor that includes a database proprietor (DP) identifier.
Intermediary technology for online marketing
Among other things, advertisements are received for brands or products of brands. Criteria for placement of the advertisements are received at online retail sites. The online retail sites are controlled independently from one another. Inventory data for the products at the online retail sites is received and stored. Data about propensities of the consumers to favor one or more of the brands or one or more products of the brands, from activities of consumers on the online retail sites, is stored. Activity data about current activities of the consumers on the online retail sites is received. One or more of the advertisements are placed on pages served to the online retail sites based on the placement data, the inventory data, the propensity data, and the activity data. Conversion data is received indicating that consumers engaged in conversion events with respect to products associated with the brands or products of brands being advertised. The brands are charged based on the placing of the advertisements and the conversion events. The online retail sites are paid for the placing of the advertisements and the conversion events.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION APPLICATION, SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF USE
Techniques herein provide an audience participation software application, system and method construction that enables remote and present users of the audience participation software application, system, and method to produce an accumulated output device effect wherein, components of the output device effect may be shared between the users, stored for further use, and/or used to control outputs of one or more communicatively coupled output device systems located and operated at one or more live entertainment events.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DIGITAL TRAFFIC CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT
The computing device receives data for a plurality of events that includes a timestamp associated with a digital traffic campaign in an event processing system. Based on the timestamp of the data for each event, the computing device executes operations comprising: applying filtering using digital signal processing to the event count for the combined data for each of the one or more intervals, executing a model to compute one or more backward difference approximations for the one or more candidate systems time constants from the evaluated exponential curve, and selecting a system time constant that predicts a first time instant wherein the data for the plurality of events approaches a point on a horizontal asymptote for the evaluated exponential curve. The computing device determines an epoch for the selected system time constant and outputs the determined epoch for the selected system time constant in the graphical user interface.
Methods and apparatus for transmitting multimedia files in a data network
In one implementation a method of transmitting a multimedia file over a data network is provided that involves receiving from a device in a data network a first message in a first protocol that request first data associated with the multimedia file, the first data being useable by the device to establish a streaming session that involves a transmission of the multimedia file. The first message includes identifying data of a referring site. The method also involves transmitting to the device the first data and optionally the identifying data of the referring site and then receiving from the device a second message in a second protocol for the purpose of creating a streaming session associated with the multimedia file. A streaming session is then created for transmitting the multimedia file to the device. In another implementation a method is provided that involves receiving in a computing device from a referring site an identifier of first data associated with a multimedia file and identifying data of the referring site, wherein the first data is useable for establishing a streaming session for downloading the multimedia file. The method further involves transmitting from the computing device a first message in a first protocol that requests the first data associated with the multimedia file and receiving in the computing device the first data. Upon receiving the first data the computing device transmits a second message in a second protocol for the purpose of creating the streaming session associated with the multimedia file, the second message including the first data and the identifying data of the referring site. The computing device then receives via the streaming session, all or a portion of the multimedia file. In some implementations, the first protocol and the second protocol are the same.
Linking a transaction between a merchant and a resident of the same vicinity to the resident viewing the merchant broadcast advertisement
Implementations generate links between local merchants and community programs. Merchants provide incentives to customers in relation to community programs. Implementations also include online and offline customer transactions with merchants that make use of incentives. Implementation pertain to customers that view a broadcast of content that is interleaved with a merchant's advertisement and analytic reporting. Matches between transactions with a merchant and a customer that view a broadcast of content that is interleaved with the merchant's advertisement may be identified by the system, and a level of certainty that the match is accurate may be determined. These implementations can be operated by an alliance of entities that cooperate in order to facilitate, and benefit from, transactions between customers and merchants, where the customer is incented to conduct the transaction with the merchant by the merchant's agreement to make a donation to an entity of the customer's choice.
