Aggregation of unique user invocations in an online environment
Methods and systems for determining a unique invocation of an online feature are disclosed. A key is distributed to multiple users. Upon performing a user action, the key is sent to a Bloom filter. If the output of the Bloom filter is a negative activation, the invocation is deemed to be unique. If the output of the Bloom filter is a positive activation, the invocation is deemed to be non-unique. For a large data set, the computational overhead of processing the key with the Bloom filter is significantly less than the brute force database approach. Thus, in large systems with many millions of users and possible user actions, disclosed embodiments allow assessment of a unique action in a timely manner.
Methods and apparatus to associate audience members with over-the-top device media impressions
Methods and apparatus to associate audience members with over-the-top device media impressions. An example audience measurement apparatus includes an impression monitoring system to monitor and log media impressions based on impression requests received via network communications from over the top devices. A linkage database system is to implement the impression monitoring system. A processor in circuit with the impression monitoring system is to: generate Internet protocol (IP) address-to-cookie mappings; associate household identifiers of households with ones of the IP address-to-cookie mappings; and associate ones of the household identifiers to the logged media impressions based on IP addresses associated with the media impressions and based on the household identifiers associated with the ones of the IP address-to-cookie mappings.
Dynamic broadcast lineups based on local and third-party data sources
Inventory data is stored, wherein the inventory data represents for each of a plurality of broadcast stations a corresponding inventory of audio advertising spots available from that broadcast station to be filled by an advertising placement system. An advertising campaign data representing a set of advertising objectives of an advertising campaign is received. The inventory data is used to iteratively select advertising spots to be associated with the advertising campaign, based at least in part on a respective computed fitness of match between each selected advertising spot and said advertising objectives.
Method and system for analyzing user behavior associated with web contents
The present teaching relates to analyzing user behavior associated with web contents. Information related to user interactions associated with a content item placed on a reference property is first obtained. A measurement associated with each user interaction of the content item is determined based on the obtained information. An analyzing model for the content item which characterizes statistics of the measurements associated with the content item is further constructed. A measurement threshold to be used to determine a cost of placing the content item on a target property is further determined using the constructed analyzing model.
Content item selection and measurement determination
One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for selecting content items for transmission to client devices are provided. A first content item may be transmitted to a first set of client devices. A first request for content associated with a first client device of a second set of client devices may be received. A first bid value associated with a second content item may be selected. The first bid value may be modified based upon a second bid value associated with the first content item to generate a third bid value associated with the second content item. The second content item may be selected from a first plurality of content items for presentation via the first client device based upon a plurality of bid values having the third bid value. The second content item may be transmitted to the first client device.
MEASURING CONTENT CONSUMPTION
Techniques to measure consumption of content pages comprising a plurality of distinct content assets are disclosed. In various embodiments, content consumption signal data gathered by a plurality of clients, the content consumption signal data reflecting for at least a subset of content pages user engagement by content asset comprising the content page, is received. The received content consumption signal data and content attribute data associated with each respective content page are used to compute for each content page a content consumption metric reflecting an amount of content determined to have been consumed.
Methods and apparatus to analyze and adjust demographic information
A disclosed example includes accessing computer-generated impression records, the computer-generated impression records based on network communications received at a server of a database proprietor from client devices, the computer-generated impression records indicative of accesses to media at the client devices; accessing self-reported demographic data and behavioral data from a database of the database proprietor, the self-reported demographic data and the behavioral data corresponding to user accounts registered with the database proprietor and associated with the client devices; comparing the self-reported demographic data with a probability distribution of higher-accuracy demographic data; determining different adjustments for corresponding ones of self-reported demographics of the self-reported demographic data based on the comparison; adjusting the corresponding ones of the self-reported demographics based on corresponding ones of the different adjustments to generate adjusted user demographic data; and assigning the adjusted user demographic data to corresponding ones of the computer-generated impression records.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO INCORPORATE SATURATION EFFECTS INTO MARKETING MIX MODELS
Methods and apparatus to incorporate saturation effects into marketing mix models are disclosed. An example apparatus includes means for converting adstock data associated with an advertising campaign into effective reached realized (ERR) data based on a first saturation curve, the adstock data corresponding to adstocked gross rating points generated from marketing mix input data. The apparatus further including means for performing regression analysis to: identify the first saturation curve from among a plurality of plausible curves based on a fit of different ones of the plurality of plausible curves to the marketing mix input data, the first saturation curve to define a relationship indicative of saturation effects of the advertising campaign on a target audience of the advertising campaign; and determine an impact of the advertising campaign on sales during a period of interest based on a regression analysis of the ERR data relative to sales data.
CALIBRATION OF RESPONSE RATES
The disclosed embodiments provide a system for performing calibration of response rates. During operation, the system obtains a position of a content item in a ranking of content items generated for delivery to a member of an online system and a predicted response rate by the member to the content item. Next, the system determines an updated response rate by the member to the content item based on the position of the content item in the ranking and dimensions associated with the predicted response rate and the ranking. The system then outputs the updated response rate for use in managing delivery of the content item.
USING ON-LINE AND OFF-LINE PROJECTIONS TO CONTROL INFORMATION DELIVERY TO MOBILE DEVICES
A system for processing information requests associated with mobile devices comprises an evaluation module configured to determine at least one performance measure for each of a plurality of information documents using at least data in one or both of a requests database and events database. The at least one performance measure includes at least one of an impression-based performance measure, a click/call-based performance measure, and an off-line site-visit-based performance measure. The system further comprises an information server configured to select a first information document for transmitting to a first mobile device to fulfill a first request. The information server includes a volume control unit configured to derive an off-line site visit projection in response to the first document being selected based at least in part on an off-line site-visit-based performance measure and having been impressed on the first mobile device, and to adjust a budget associated with the first document using the off-line site visit projection.
