Obtaining event reviews
10115118 · 2018-10-30 · ·

Embodiments generally relate to obtaining event reviews. In one embodiment a method includes receiving location data corresponding to a location of a device and receiving temporal data corresponding to a time when the device was at the location. The method also includes obtaining event information based on the location data and the temporal data, and generating a user interface on the device to permit reviews of an event associated with the event information. The method also includes generating one or more prompts based on the location data and the temporal data.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR VIRTUAL COMPETITION

A system configured to be coupled with a participant of an activity. The system comprises: a participant activity monitoring unit configured for monitoring a performance of the activity by the participant; an activity information module configured for storing performance information corresponding to the activity; and a participant performance correlator configured for delivering comparative performance data based on the monitored performance of the activity by the participant and the stored performance information.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RELEVANT TARGETING OF ONLINE DIGITAL ADVERTISING

System and methods for selecting and serving a targeted digital advertisement to a user are provided. In one implementation, an advertisement platform server receives an ad transaction pixel from a user device. Based on the ad transaction pixel, the server initiates a discovery process in order to discover the identity of the user device. The server then receives a device targeted ad request from the user device, and sends a device targeted ad response to the user device based on results from the discovery process.

Method and system for dynamically incorporating advertising content into multimedia environments

Methods and systems for dynamically incorporating advertising content into multimedia environments, such as games, are provided. Example embodiments include a dynamic inserter, which selects content, based upon a set of criteria, to deliver to a receiving client system, such as a game client. The game client typically dynamically determines locations with the game where advertisements may be inserted. Associated with these locations are ad tags that specify criteria for the ads. For example, the criteria may include ad type, ad genre, and scheduling information. The game client then sends indications of these ad tags to the dynamic inserter to be used to select appropriate ads. The dynamic inserter selects ads based upon the criteria and sends them to the game client, which selects them for ad tags with conforming criteria. The game client then renders the selected ad in the appropriate location. In one embodiment, the dynamic inserter comprises a game client, game server, ad server, a communications channel, and, optionally, an ad client.

Alert-driven dynamic sensor-data sub-contracting

An interface mechanism in a system receives an alert associated with an environment. In response to the alert, a control mechanism in the system identifies an environmental monitoring device within the environment, where the environmental monitoring device provides sensor data that represents an environmental condition in the environment. Moreover, the control mechanism: provides, via the interface mechanism, a service offer to an electronic device associated with an entity associated with the environment, where the service offer includes information associated with the environmental condition. After receiving a response from the electronic device that authorizes the service, the control mechanism provides, via the interface mechanism, a data request for the sensor data to the environmental monitoring device. Furthermore, after receiving the sensor data from the environmental monitoring device, the control mechanism provides the service to the entity based on the environmental condition.

An apparatus for forecasting preferred selections from a menu of a restaurant comprises a) a face recognition system including at least two cameras, b) a point of sales system (POS) including a portable terminal linked thereto and c) a server for running algorithms comprising steps of: receiving the demographic profiles of the customers; obtaining environmental information including weather information and event information from relevant websites via internet; obtaining the transaction data of the customers from the POS; correlating the inputted orders including types of dishes from the customers with demographic profiles of the customers and the environmental information to accumulate correlated data into database in the server; selecting the preferred selections from the database based on a criterial to narrow down a number of the preferred selections; and transferring the selected preferred selections to the portable terminal via the POS.

Systems and methods for generating for display recommendations that are temporally relevant to activities of a user and are contextually relevant to a portion of a media asset that the user is consuming
10097898 · 2018-10-09 · ·

Systems and methods are provided herein for displaying recommendations that are temporally relevant to activities of a user and are contextually relevant to a portion of viewed media. This may be accomplished by a media guidance application identifying activities a user has planned, as well as respective times for which each of the plurality of activities was planned to be performed by the user. The media guidance application may filter the activities by determining which of the first plurality of activities has a corresponding respective time that is within a threshold period of time. The media guidance application may then identify characteristics of each filtered activity and of a media asset that the user is consuming at the present moment, and may compute whether the characteristics match. If the characteristics match, the media guidance application may generate for display a recommendation relating to the respective activity.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING OFFERS USING A MOBILE DEVICE

A wireless device is enabled to provide offers. The wireless device receives card data for a financial account card and stores the card data in a memory associated with the wireless device. Responsive to using the card data in a transaction at a first merchant location, the wireless device receives transaction line-item data from a computing system associated with the first merchant location. The wireless device determines merchant information for a second merchant location and determines an offer associated with the second merchant location based on the line-item data and the merchant information for the second merchant. The wireless device presents the offer when the wireless device is near the second merchant location.

A user device containing sensors is delivered customized services without utilizing private user data or while only using it in highly constrained ways. This is accomplished by sending one or more queries to the user device. Each query requests a binary response and each query inquires whether or not the user device has obtained one or more specified parameter values, or range of parameter values, from one or more sensors incorporated in or in communication with the user device. For each query a binary response is received, which indicates that the user device has or has not obtained the one or more specified parameter values, or the range of parameter values, about which the respective query is inquiring.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING CONTENT ITEMS VIA A PUSH MARKETING AUCTION

The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of providing content. A server can generate a request for a push content item for an account identifier linked with a computing device. The server can establish a push auction for the account identifier with multiple candidate push content items. The server can determine an auction score for each candidate push content item and select a push content item therefrom based on the auction score. The server can determine a parameter for the account identifier and control delivery of the selected push content item based on a delivery control policy. The server can compare a value of the parameter with a threshold value to authorize the push content item. The server can provide the selected and authorized push content item for presentation in a push content slot via the computing device linked to the account identifier.
