Calendar System
A mobile device system comprising a global positioning satellite processor to locate a position of the mobile device, a mobile display interface for displaying at least one event and the position on a map and an event processor coupled to a server and a remote database and to filter at least one event in the mobile display interface, wherein the at least one filtered event includes a destination and is filtered from a plurality of categories based on selected criteria, wherein a collection of events is selected from the database based on the selected criteria, and displayed on the map as the destination.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SOCIALIZING EVENTS
An example of a method includes determining, electronically, a social network associated with a user in response to the user visiting a web page. Further, the method includes determining, electronically, a first buddy of the user on the social network. Furthermore, the method includes identifying, electronically, a first event from events associated with the first buddy which matches an event associated with the web page. In addition, the method includes displaying the first event and information associated with the first buddy on the web page.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TRIGGERING A PROCESS
A controlling arrangement for triggering a process of a data related to an event in a communication application comprises a user related device. The user related device comprises a controlling means for outputting a triggering signal related to said event when manipulated the controlling means. The arrangement is configured to communicate said triggering signal from the user related device to a data processing means of the communication application, whereupon the data processing means is configured to launch said process of the data related to said event in the communication application.
METHOD OF ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC SERVICE
A method of growing an advertising business and promoting public welfare includes steps of: (a) working with a government authority to enhance disaster preparedness in a community, (b) placing a storage structure at a site located in that community, (c) allowing the government authority to use storage space in the storage structure as needed for the welfare of the community and (d) maintaining a right to market advertising on the storage structure.
Computerized information and display apparatus with rapid convergence algorithm
A computerized information and display apparatus useful for providing information to a user via a display. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a processor apparatus, touch screen input and display device, and speech input apparatus, and at least one computer program configured to run on the processor apparatus, the at least one program being configured to enable an user to intuitively operate the apparatus to rapidly converge on a desired organization or entity which they wish to locate, via speech input of only a name or a part of a name. The information and display apparatus is particularly useful in time-pressured mobile transport vehicle environments, and when the user is unfamiliar with the operation of the apparatus.
Authenticated registration of participants for web access at live events
A captive portal technology for registering and authenticating attendees, and for collecting the personal-preferences and social-profile details of individuals participating in a live-event in real-time, is disclosed. Wi-Fi connections within the live-event location are used to register and authenticate the individuals onto a proxy server. Once registered and authenticated, the proxy-server enables a monitoring main server to collect and store the preferences, activities and social profile of the individual in a dedicated database. The authentication provides the individual access to the web for social networking, blogging and other activities at the live-event site. Authorities of live-events are thereby able can identify the individual participants and their habits to provide real time information to improve ticket sales methods, provide incentives, on-site purchase capability and focused advertisements relating to the live-event to improve the live event experience of each individual.
Computerized information and display apparatus with remote environment control
A computerized information apparatus useful for providing information to a user via a display. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a processor apparatus, and first wireless interface, radio frequency apparatus, and at least one computer program configured to run on the processor apparatus, the at least one program being configured to enable functions within a transport device including remote control of environment functions (e.g., HVAC, lighting, imagery capture) based on authentication of a user carrying a portable radio frequency device.
Computerized information and display apparatus with automatic context determination
A computerized information apparatus useful for providing information to a user via a display. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a processor apparatus, and speech input apparatus, touch screen input and display apparatus, and at least one computer program configured to run on the processor apparatus, the at least one program being configured to provide a user with contextually relevant content without an affirmative request for such content, but rather based on context divined from one or more free form words spoken by the user, whether while searching for information or otherwise. In one variant, the context determination is performed by a remote networked server after having been provided digitized speech samples via wireless interface. In another variant, the context is determined based on soft function key inputs from the user while requesting information. A virtual database structure enabling rapid context determination is also disclosed.
DYNAMICALLY SERVED DIGITAL CONTENT BASED ON REAL TIME EVENT UPDATES
A system and method for dynamically serving content to a client computer system. An events collection server retrieves event occurrence data elements. A data correlation server includes a query expander and a rules engine. A content server is receptive to a content request from the client computer system, and an initial query is passed to the query expander. The content server initiates one or more data lookup procedures, and tags converted from data returned from the data lookup procedures is added to the tag list, one of which is derived from the event occurrence data element. Content data facts are generated by the rules engine for return to the content server based upon a correlation of specific predefined combinations of the tags in the tag list. The content data facts correspond to at least one content data element retrievable by the content server for transmission to the client computer system.
SELECTING ADDITIONAL CONTENT FOR INCLUSION IN VIDEO DATA PRESENTED TO USERS VIA AN ONLINE SYSTEM
A user provides video data to an online system for presentation to additional users of the online system. Additionally, the user provides information to the online system identifying positions in the information capable of presenting supplemental content items, which may be sponsored, and may provide information describing a context of the video data at the various positions capable of presenting the supplemental content items. For example, the information identifies one or more times within the video data at which an advertisement is capable of being presented via the video data. Based on the information provided by the user, the online system selects supplemental content items for presentation via the video data at the identified positions and presents the selected supplemental content items to additional users viewing the video data at the identified positions.
