A mobile device with a display, processor(s), and memory: identifies a retail machine configured for wireless communications based on broadcasted information transmitted by the retail machine and including an identifier corresponding to the retail machine; transmits the identifier to a server and receives from the server an electronic communication including a promotional offer for products or services offered by the retail machine; displays the promotional offer; detects selection of a promotional offer; receives a notification from the retail machine that a product or service was provided by the retail machine for a user of the mobile device; transmits confirmation information associated with the notification to the server, receives promotion validation information from the server indicating validation of the promotional offer; and based on the promotion validation information, displays information confirming application of the promotional offer.

A computer-implemented method for ingesting and presenting a video with associated linked products and metadata as a unified actionable shopping experience may include accessing a video file, receiving information about an object, the information including a link to a merchant portal or web page through which the object may be purchased, combining the video file and information about the object into a social media post, and delivering the social media post to consumers.

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for validating transactions between a remote merchant system and an end-user terminal. In general, transaction information is received at a service provider regarding a transaction between the merchant system and an end user terminal, that includes transaction instructions on what actions need to be performed by the end user terminal in order for the merchant system to complete the transaction. The service provider generates a token ID that does not include a transaction identification nor a merchant system identification, but is linked to stored transaction instructions. The token ID is received from a remote point-of-sale (POS) terminal with presentment information that is validated against the transaction instructions to complete the transaction.

An interrogating and processing system and method is described. A wireless communication device interrogates an information source, having a barcode or tag, and wirelessly transmits data indicative of the information source. The interrogator can be built into or adjunct to the wireless communication device. An automated processing subsystem receives the transmitted data and identifies an item corresponding to the data. A fulfillment subsystem effects delivery of the item to a destination. There can be a coupon code scanning and processing system and method. A wireless computing device having an interrogator reads a coupon code. An automated processing subsystem receives the corresponding data and provides a benefit associated with the coupon. The benefit can be a discount on a product or service. Alternatively, at least a portion of the coupon including a code is displayed on a screen of the computing device for processing at a point of sale terminal.

A collection, charging and distribution machine collects, charges and distributes portable electrical energy storage devices (e.g., batteries, super- or ultracapacitors). To charge, the machine employs electrical current from an external source, such as the electrical grid or an electrical service of an installation location. The machine determines a first number of devices to be rapidly charged, employing charge from a second number of devices identified to sacrifice charge. Thus, some devices may be concurrently charged via current from the electrical service and current from other devices, to achieve rapid charging of some subset of devices. The devices that sacrifice charge may later be charged. Such may ensure availability of devices for end users.

A method for use in a media distribution system includes receiving media content at an enterprise hub from a plurality of media outlets via a communication network. The method continues by assigning a unique identifier to the media content. The method continues by receiving at the enterprise hub, from the plurality of media outlets via a communication network, a record of broadcast of the media content on a continuous ticker feed and analyzing the continuous ticker feed to detect the unique identifier. The method continues by automatically verifying if the media content broadcast as scheduled and classifying the media content broadcast. The method continues by generating and transmitting to at least a provider of the media content, from the plurality of media outlets, a displayable report of the classification of the media content broadcast.

A connectivity contextual services ecosystem management system may comprise a connectivity contextual services connectivity system, one or more user devices, and one or more merchant devices. A network of collection, charging and distribution machines collect, charge and distribute portable electrical energy storage devices (e.g., batteries, supercapacitors or ultracapacitors). To charge, the machines employ electrical current from an external source, such as the electrical grid or an electrical service of an installation location. By default, each portable electrical energy storage device is disabled from accepting a charge unless it receives authentication information from an authorized collection, charging and distribution machine, other authorized charging device, or other authorized device that transmits the authentication credentials. Also, by default, each portable electrical energy storage device is disabled from releasing energy unless it receives authentication information from an external device to which it will provide power, such as a vehicle or other authorization device.

A computer system communicates with sponsors, mobile wireless devices, and wireless service providers to present incentives to wireless device users for accepting offers to interact with sponsor content. The incentive offers provide mobile wireless device accounts with credits that are paid by the sponsors. The system generates ACH messages to obtain payment for the credits and transfers the money to the wireless service providers for partial payment of wireless service charges.

A contextual services delivery system may comprise a services repository containing services instructions and a contextual services delivery module. The contextual services delivery module may deliver different contextual services to a smartphone and/or a POS terminal in response to a context environment, in order to provide a user with a customized contextual services experience.
