System and method for initiating group purchases via network feeds
In response to detecting that a first selectable element on a webpage or application page of a merchant has been accessed by a user, a computer system stores a visual representation of an item that corresponds to the first selectable element in a first space of the user. In response to detecting a selection of a second selectable element from within the first space, the computer system determines a threshold number of users to associate with the visual representation and creates a post in a network feed that includes the visual representation, wherein a third selectable element is associated with the post, that when selected, causes a user to join or vote for the first visual representation. In response to determining that a number of users that have selected the third selectable element meets the threshold number of users, the computer system initiates a group purchase for the item.
MOVIE ADVERTISING PLAYBACK SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An ad in a movie can be a static ad having a position in the movie that cannot be moved, or a dynamic ad having a position in the movie that can be changed. When a viewer wishes to skip a portion of the movie containing the ad, the playback system determines whether the ad is static or dynamic. If the ad is static, only the portion of the movie preceding the static ad can be skipped; the ad is unskippable. This technique is referred to as “bounceback” since the end of the skip bounces back to the start of the static ad. If the ad is dynamic, it is moved to after the end of the skip. This technique is referred to as “slip-ad” since the ad slips to later in the movie. When a movie has multiple ads, some can be static and some can be dynamic.
EMAIL-BASED E-COMMERCE
An email payment gateway having electronic commerce (e-commerce) system may send advertisement emails to customers that are registered with the e-commerce system. The advertisement emails may include mailto hyperlinks. Each mailto hyperlink may be associated with a product that is being offered for sale, and each mailto hyperlink describes an email message that may be generated when that hyperlink is selected. When a mailto hyperlink is selected, the generated email message may include one or more parameters related to the product associated with the hyperlink, such as an identifier of the product. The generated email message may then be transmitted to the e-commerce system. The e-commerce system may receive the message and, based on the parameters in the received message, execute a transaction to purchase the identified product on behalf of the customer.
SIAMESE NEURAL NETWORK MODEL
Methods, apparatus and techniques are provided for a twin neural model for uplift. The methods include obtaining a dataset corresponding to a prediction task; performing, via a randomizer, a random selection of whether to apply an artificial neural network comprising a Siamese neural network to the dataset or whether to perform a random prediction for the prediction task; determining subsequent to the random selection of the randomizer, a gathered outcome for each prediction scenario based on applying or not applying the model to the dataset including a difference between the gathered outcome for each scenario; and, feeding back the gathered outcome and the difference to retrain the Siamese neural network model for use in performing the prediction task.

The subject technology generates, using at least one machine learning model, a purchase intent prediction based at least in part on the session data. The subject technology generates a combination of data using first data from the purchase intent prediction with second data based on the set of sessions that correspond to conversions. The subject technology generates information related to a missed purchase segment based at least in part on the combination of data. A user interface to register merchants. The user interface is configured to allow a merchant to search and identify a set of transaction parameters that are used in authorization and/or settlement messages of payment transactions initiated for a store of the merchant and allow the merchant to obtain a store identifier representing the set of transaction parameters. The store identifier, for example, can be used to label offers of the store of the merchant. Thus, whether or not an authorization or settlement message transmitted in the payment processing network for a payment transaction is for the store can be determined based on whether or not the transaction parameters in the message match with the set of transaction parameters represented by the store identifier.
