The systems and methods may be used to recommend an item to a consumer. The methods may comprise determining, based on a collaborative filtering algorithm, a consumer relevance value associated with an item, and transmitting, based on the consumer relevance value, information associated with the item to a consumer. A collaborative filtering algorithm may receive as an input a transaction history associated with the consumer, a demographic of the consumer, a consumer profile, a type of transaction account, a transaction account associated with the consumer, a period of time that the consumer has held a transaction account, a size of wallet, and/or a share of wallet. The method may further comprise generating a ranked list of items based upon consumer relevance values, transmitting a ranked list of items to a consumer, and/or re-ranking a ranked list of items based upon a merchant goal.

A method and system for pricing advertisement placements online in a real-time bidding (RTB) environment is disclosed. According to one embodiment, a computer-implemented method includes receiving a plurality of responses from a plurality of real-time bidding (RTB) requests for an advertisement placement and determining a first data set from the plurality of responses, where the first data set includes prices paid for winning the advertisement placement. The computer-implemented method further includes determining a second data set from the plurality of responses, where the second data set includes losing bid prices, and estimating a price distribution curve based on one or more of the first data set and the second data set.

An account management module tracks account usage. The account management module analyzes the account usage and applies a model to predict the willingness of the user to pay for a new account configuration. Responsive to the results of the prediction, the new account configuration is offered to the user. The user's feedback on the offered new account configuration is tracked. If the user accepts the offer, the user's account details are updated accordingly. If the user rejects the offer, this feedback may be added as input into future predictions of that user's willingness to pay for a new account configuration.

Recommendation control techniques using incremental matrix factorization and clustering are described. User latent factors and item latent factors are computed from data that denotes ratings associated with the users regarding respective ones of the plurality of items of digital content. Data is obtained that describes interaction of a particular one of the users with at least one respective item of the digital content. A plurality of clusters is formed using the user latent factors. The recommendations are generated using the user latent factors and the item latent factors for each of the plurality of clusters. Further, at least one of recommendations is located based on comparison of a user identifier of a subsequent user with the plurality of clusters. Interaction of the subsequent user with the digital content is controlled based on the located at least one of the recommendations.

Systems and methods for optimizing the selection and display of electronic content
Systems and methods are provided for optimizing displays in one or more user interfaces. An exemplary method may include retrieving web entries from a database and generating a plurality of candidates based on the retrieved web entries, where each web entry of the web entries is a clickable item that is displayed on the one or more user interfaces. Additionally, provide the plurality of candidates for display on the one or more user interfaces and determine click-through rates for each of the plurality of candidates. Thereafter, create a display pool of candidates to display from plurality of candidates based on the click-through rates and update the display pool of candidates responsive to retrieving additional web entries from the database.
