METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENABLING AN APPLICATION TO DETECT SPECIFIED CIRCUMSTANCES
Methods and systems are provided that may be utilized to detect occurrence of one or more specified circumstances. A determination may be made as to whether one or more specified circumstances are detected such as responsive to one or more user actions or an occurrence of an event unrelated to a user. One or more binary digital signals may be generated to store a detection of one or more specified user circumstances in a log or memory at least partially in response to detection of the one or more specified circumstances.
Product-based content
A method and a system that identify content within a network-based system are provided. The method and system may operate to receive a request including an identification from a device of a user, assign a matching identification entry to the identification or to the user using the identification and a set of identification entries comprising the matching identification entry, and transmit the matching identification entry to an identification module configured to identify at least one content for display on a content page using the matching identification entry.
Real-time data input relevance ranking and resulting data output
Techniques are presented for ranking and presenting information to a user. In one example, a portable computing device may collect a first set of data from one or more sensors, rank a second set of data (e.g., advertisements, news, etc.) by correlating the first set of data with a third set of data of interest to a user, and present the ranked information to the user. In another example, the portable computing device may transmit the collected information to a server for processing, and receive the ranked information from the server.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DELIVERING ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
A method and system for directing a browser or browsing application associated with a user to a targeted web site after the user performs at least two activations or clicks of his pointing device. The first click is typically on a communication provided by the system, serving as an intermediary, and the second click is typically on a first data object or web page of the intermediary, before the browser of the user is redirected to a second data object or targeted web page, typically associated with a party unrelated to the party or entity controlling the system.
VEHICLE WITH CONTEXT SENSITIVE INFORMATION PRESENTATION
Technologies are generally described for context sensitive display of final delivery information on a consumable delivery vehicle with enroute preparation. A controller may manage fulfillment of orders while the vehicle is enroute by controlling an operation of one or more on-board preparation equipment. The controller may also receive order status information and travel information associated with final delivery destinations. Once the vehicle is at its destination to be used as a hub for final deliveries, one or more displays on the vehicle may display final delivery information to final delivery people based on the status information and the travel information.
Change Point Detection in a Multi-Armed Bandit Recommendation System
Recommendation systems and techniques are described that employ change point detection to generate recommendations for digital content. In one example, a change point detection technique is employed by a recommendation system to identify when a change point has occurred at a respective time step of a series of time steps. Detection of this change point may then be used by the recommendation system to reset the statistical model to address this change as well as generate a subsequent recommendation configured for exploration of reward distributions of the items of digital marketing content.
Energy-efficient content serving
Various technologies described herein pertain to prefetching content units. A prefetch request is transmitted to a server from a client device. The prefetch request includes data indicative of probabilities of slots for content units being available during an upcoming time period. The probabilities can be based on likely interaction with application(s) executed by the client device during the upcoming time period. Prefetched content units assigned to the client device for the upcoming time period can be received from the server responsive to the prefetch request. One or more of the prefetched content units can be served for display on a display screen of the client device during execution the application(s). Further, statuses of the prefetched content units can be monitored, and information that specifies a subset of the prefetched content units that are unlikely to be displayed on the display screen prior to corresponding deadlines for expiration can be transmitted.
Promotion selection for online customers using Bayesian bandits
Technology for selecting promotion(s) to display in a page of an application for display to a user is described. An example method includes determining a promotion for a product; calculating for the promotion a posterior distribution of a user-action probability reflecting estimates for a user response to a display of the promotion for the product on a computing device of the user; determining the posterior distribution as collapsing beyond a certain threshold; responsive thereto, calculating an uncollapsed posterior distribution of the user-action probability reflecting modified estimates for the user response to the display of the promotion for the product on a computing device of the user; storing the uncollapsed posterior distribution of the user-action probability in a response database; and determining whether to select the promotion from the promotion database for display on a computing device of the user based on the modified estimates.
Systems, Computer-Readable Media, and Methods for Activation-Based Marketing
A system, computer program product, and method for activation-based marketing are presented. In one embodiment, the system includes one or more data storage devices configured to store demographic data, healthcare utilization data, and response data associated with a target individual. The system may include a server coupled to the one or more data storage devices. The server may be suitably programmed to determine a life stage associated with a target individual, determine an attitudinal segment associated with the target individual, and determine a response model associated with the target individual. The server may assign the target individual to at least one of a predetermined set of segmentation groups in response to the life stage, the attitudinal segment, and the response model associated with the individual. The system may generate a personalized communication modality tailored to the target individual in response to the segmentation group assigned to the target individual.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR AUTOMATED GENERATION OF PERSONALIZED MESSAGES
A system includes a set of crawlers that find and retrieve documents from an information network, an information extraction system, a knowledge graph storing nodes and edges that connect them, wherein each node represents a respective entity of a corresponding entity type of a plurality of entity types, and wherein the knowledge graph further stores event data relating to events detected by the information extraction system, a machine learning system that trains models that are used in connection with at least one of entity extraction, event extraction, recipient identification, and content generation, a lead scoring system that scores the relevance of information to an individual and references information in the knowledge graph, and a content generation system that generates content of a personalized message to a recipient who is an individual for which the lead scoring system has determined a threshold level of relevance.
