Systems and methods for web spike attribution
Systems and methods are disclosed that measure web activity bursts after ad broadcasts that may be sent to multiple persons. One system uses a cookie-less/cookie-optional, anonymous/personal-identification-not-required, method for web-based conversion tracking that will work on broadcast media systems such as television, and could also be applied to measuring spikes from email, radio, and other forms of advertising where an episodic ad event is broadcast to multiple parties, and where responses occur in a batch after the broadcast.
MULTI-STAGE CONTENT ANALYSIS SYSTEM THAT PROFILES USERS AND SELECTS PROMOTIONS
A system that analyzes a user's communications to select a promotion that is presented to the user. The analysis may occur in two stages: a first stage analyzes a single communication from a user to determine whether the user is a potential target for a promotion; for potential targets, a second stage analyzes a history of communications from the user to generate a user profile. The system may then select a promotion based on the profile. The profile may include a set of profile tags that are considerably more detailed and granular than traditional demographic data; tags may for example indicate user affiliations with groups or ideas (such as religions or political parties), or user life cycle stages. Using these rich, detailed user profile tags, the system may achieve promotion response rates far above those from traditional advertising, which relies on cookies or simple demographic categories.
CONTENT DELIVERY OPTIMIZATION USING EXPOSURE MEMORY PREDICTION
An online system displays a first set of content items to a user of a test group and displays a second set of content items to a user of a control group. The online system presents a poll to each user to evaluate the user's recall of the content item associated with the poll. The online system receives a poll response from each user, which is input, along with a set of features associated each user, into a prediction model. The prediction model enables the online system to determine a poll response prediction of a third user based on a set of features associated with the third user. The poll response prediction enables the online system to determine if it would be effective to present the content item to the third user.
Cadence management system for consumer promotions
Systems and methods are presented for managing the cadence (e.g., frequency or rate) that electronic promotion correspondence is sent to a consumer. A system may access a target cadence indicator associated with a consumer that indicates of a target rate for sending electronic promotion correspondence to the consumer. The system may also determine an actual cadence indicator for the consumer over a predetermined period of time and analyze a potential electronic promotion correspondence for sending to the consumer. The system determines whether to send the electronic correspondence to the consumer based on the target cadence indicator, the actual cadence indicator, and the analysis of the electronic promotion correspondence.
SELECTING CONTENT ITEMS BASED ON EXPECTED CONTRIBUTION TO DESIRED INTERACTIONS
An online system receives a data stream of reported interaction events that resulted in each of a desired interaction with a content item. Each reported interaction event is associated with an attribution value defining a portion of a value of a desired interaction that is attributed to the interaction event. Using the attribution values, an attribution model is trained that determines an expected value of presenting the content item associated with the attribution model. The online system uses attribution models of a plurality of candidate content items to select content items for presentation to users of the online system.
Selecting users relevant to a geofence
A system may identify attributes of a geofence surrounding a location. The attributes of the geofence may represent merchant characteristics of a brick-and-mortar store and may further represent item characteristics of merchandise items available for sale from the brick-and-mortar store. A subset of users from a plurality of users eligible to receive the geofence may be selected based at least in part on matching the attributes of the geofence to preferences associated with each user among the subset of users. Geofence data representing the geofence may be sent to each of the client devices operated by the subset of the plurality of users. An indication may be received from a client device operated by a user of the user crossing into the geofence based on the geofence data. Lastly, a notification may be presented to the client device operated by the user.
Personalized content ranking using content received from different sources in a video delivery system
A video delivery service may display different content on an interface, such as ad campaign content, media program campaign content, and recommendation content. For example, the video delivery service may communicate with an ad engine to determine ad campaign content that is available and ad campaign scores to rate the ad campaign content. The video delivery service may also communicate with a media program campaign engine to determine any media program campaign content for the user and media program campaign scores to rate the media program campaign content. Then, the video delivery service may communicate with a recommendation engine to rate the relevance of the ad campaign content or media program campaign content to the user. After receiving the ad campaign content, media program campaign content, and recommendation content, the video delivery service determines which of the ad campaign content, media program campaign content, and recommendation content to display in the interface.
Out of Home Digital Ad Server
There is provided a method for an out of home advertising campaign, the method comprising: supplying creative for the campaign; determining criteria for the campaign, the criteria comprising targeting a demographic; selecting one or more boards for display of the creative, the selecting based on static data, projected data, and optionally real-time data; and displaying the creative on the one or more boards. There is also provided an out of home digital ad server comprising: at least one digital board; a digital feed provider to provide each board with creative to be displayed; a computer processor for analysing data to optimize board selection based on a demographic; and a communication network to direct creative from the ad serving processor to the at least one digital board based on the selection of creative by the computer processor.
PROVIDING, ORGANIZING, AND MANAGING LOCATION HISTORY RECORDS OF A MOBILE DEVICE
Methods and systems for providing information associated with a location history of a mobile device to one or more applications are disclosed. A mobile device generates one or more location history records based on one or more locations of the mobile device, each location history record comprising one or more points of interest and a duration at the one or more points of interest, receives an information request from at least one application, determines a subset of the one or more location history records that meet criteria from the information request, determines a level of permission for the at least one application based on the information request and the subset of the one or more location history records, and provides information associated with the subset of the one or more location history records to the at least one application based on the level of permission.
Energy-efficient content serving
Various technologies described herein pertain to prefetching content units. A prefetch request is transmitted to a server from a client device. The prefetch request includes data indicative of probabilities of slots for content units being available during an upcoming time period. The probabilities can be based on likely interaction with application(s) executed by the client device during the upcoming time period. Prefetched content units assigned to the client device for the upcoming time period can be received from the server responsive to the prefetch request. One or more of the prefetched content units can be served for display on a display screen of the client device during execution the application(s). Further, statuses of the prefetched content units can be monitored, and information that specifies a subset of the prefetched content units that are unlikely to be displayed on the display screen prior to corresponding deadlines for expiration can be transmitted.
