The present invention provides a social networking platform offering various services, such as, facilitating aggregation and management of a user's interaction on one or more social networking platforms, offering enhanced control over the level of privacy associated with the flow of user data, offering tools to customize the user's exposure to advertisement-related content on the social networking platform(s), integrating features to control aspects of how data/content is presented to and visualized by the user, empowering the user to multicast direct messages to other users without the other users having to meet certain constraints, empowering the user to create and/or join a group based on messaging threads, and the like. One or more of these enhanced services/features are associated with a powerful framework of authentication/permission model for access control.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING A CAMERA NETWORK
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, receiving location information associated with a mobile communication device, determining a first location of the mobile communication device based on the location information, selecting a first camera from a group of cameras based on the determined first location, receiving at least one first image from the selected first camera that captures at least a portion of the first location, performing image recognition on at least one second image to identify a user associated with the mobile communication device, selecting another camera from the group of cameras based on a determined position of the identified user, and receiving at least another image from the selected other camera. System and method for providing an advertisement to a reception device
A system and method is provided for sending at least one advertisement to a reception device and providing additional communication data to a recipient that interacts with the advertisement. In one embodiment of the present invention, a provider of website data has control over advertisements that are provided to a recipient viewing the website data by allowing the sender to delete (or remove) an advertisement from the available advertisements. If a displayed advertisement is interactive, and the advertisement is interacted with, the advertising application will provide the recipient with additional communication date by sending a request for said data to the provider of the advertisement, wherein said request recorded by the provider of the advertisement and redirected to the advertisers website by providing the advertiser's URL to the reception device.
Tailored content with tailored options related to reminders
The present disclosure identifies and/or delivers tailored content based upon a service dialog. For example, the systems may receive a request for tailored content, facilitate a service dialog to obtain information related to the request, and communicate a plurality of tailored content based upon the information related to the request. Further, the systems may identify tailored content based upon a consumer profile, communicate the tailored content to a web client, and/or receive a selection of the tailored content. Further still, the systems may modify a magazine (e.g., content that is presented electronically) based upon tailored content.
Non-intrusive advertisement presentation
Advertisements are often presented in the context of a media content viewing experience. Advertisement presentation may be intrusive or subtle. In many instances, users may be interested in particular advertisements but may not want to disrupt a media content viewing experience by launching an advertisement window, opening an advertisement application, or otherwise being redirected to another piece of content. Consequently, mechanisms are provided to allow a user to identify advertisements or save advertisement interests for presentation at a later time. Saved advertisement interests can be used to inform future advertisement and/or content suggestions, and the user can be presented with selected advertisements within an application or through external mechanisms.
Image capture and identification system and process
An image-based transaction system includes a mobile device with an image sensor that is programmed to capture, via the image sensor, a video stream of a scene. The mobile device identifies a document using image characteristics from the video stream and acquires an image of at least a part of the document, and then identifies symbols in the image based on locations within the image of the document. The symbols can include alphanumeric symbols. The mobile device processes the symbols according to their type to obtain an address related to the document and the symbols and initiates a transaction associated with the identified document.
System and method for viral marketing and management
Systems, methods, and software for relatively low cost or free viral marketing management are provided. The system, method and software may be configured to receive primary user information from a primary user, wherein the primary user information may include log in information, a primary promotional code, and information related to an advertisement for the primary user, create a primary advertisement based at least in part on the received information related to the advertisement for the primary user, send the created primary advertisement, the primary promotional code, and information associated with a marketing management system to one or more prospective secondary users, receive, by the server, secondary user information from the secondary user, wherein the secondary user information may include log in information, the primary promotional code, information related to an advertisement for the primary user, present at least a portion of the primary advertisement to the secondary user, create a secondary promotional code, and secondary advertisement based at least in part on the received information related to the advertisement for the secondary user, wherein the secondary advertisement comprises at least a portion of the primary advertisement, and send the created secondary advertisement, primary or secondary promotional code, and information associated with a marketing management system to one or more subsequent users.
Using environment and user data to deliver advertisements targeted to user interests, e.g. based on a single command
A system and an associated method for responding to a user's voice inquiry are disclosed. The system accepts the voice inquiry and obtains personal data regarding the user. The system then identifies potential subjects of interest in the voice inquiry from media content currently provided to the user through a device which has captured the voice inquiry, media content present in or capturing the user's surroundings, or media content previously provided to the user as responses to previous voice inquiries by the user. Next, the system determines at least one subject of interest based on at least one of the personal data and the user's previous voice inquiries. The system then presents a response related to the determined subject of interest to the user's voice inquiry.
Monitoring an application on a processing device and generating rewards
A system is described for generating one or more rewards for use in a first application on a user processing device in response to user engagement of a second application on the user processing device. The system comprises a user processing device and a reward server arrangement. The user processing device stores instructions defining a first application and a second application. The user processing device further stores instructions defining a content delivery and reward implementation module. The content delivery and reward implementation module is operable to display on a user processing device content obtained from a content and reward delivery server arrangement comprising at least one server, to obtain one or more content viewing rewards from the content and reward delivery server arrangement, and to make the one or more content viewing rewards available for use in the first application. The user processing device further stores instructions defining a monitoring module and a reward module. The instructions defining the monitoring module and the reward module are separate from the instructions defining the first application and separate from the instructions defining the second application. The monitoring module is operable to determine a measure of an engagement of the second application by the user. The reward module is operable to calculate one or more engagement rewards in dependence upon the determined measure of engagement and to send reward data indicative of the one or more calculated engagement rewards to a reward server arrangement comprising at least the content and reward delivery server arrangement. The reward server arrangement is operable to receive reward data indicative of one or more calculated engagement rewards from the user processing device and to make the one or more engagement rewards available via the content and reward delivery server arrangement. The content delivery and reward implementation module is further operable to obtain the one or more engagement rewards from the content and reward delivery server arrangement, and to make the one or more engagement rewards available for use in the first application.

Wherein the presentation location is selected to be discoverable by the user according to a discovery difficulty level calculated based on campaign parameter(s) defined by campaign rule(s) extracted from a campaign policy associated with the website.
