MAINTAINING ADVERTISEMENTS WITHOUT REVEALING SENSITIVE DATA OF A USER ON A PERSONAL COMPUTING DEVICE
Disclosed embodiments relate to receiving a targeted advertisement on a personal computing device without revealing sensitive data of a user of the personal computing device. Techniques include maintaining sensitive data associated with the user; identifying, while the user is interacting with an application running on the personal computing device, an opportunity to display a targeted advertisement to the user of the personal computing device; receiving a prompt to request a targeted advertisement for display on the personal computing device, the targeted advertisement being part of a discrete advertising campaign selected based on the sensitive data associated with the user; and requesting, based on the prompt, the targeted advertisement for display on the personal computing device.
HYBRID EVENTING SYSTEM
A processor can cause a first communication, to a user device, of a first item based on an eventing system being in a first mode, a configuration to cause the eventing system to cause, without a request from the user device, a communication of an item to the user device in response to an entry of the item into a memory. After the first communication, the processor can cause the eventing system to be in a second mode, a configuration to cause the eventing system to refrain from communications of items to the user device. The processor can receive, from the user device, a signal to cause the eventing system to switch from the second mode to the first mode. After receiving the signal, a second item can be entered into the information memory. The processor can cause a second communication, to the user device, of the second item.

A default set of the modules is presented to a user. The default set of modules is edited to generate a user-defined set of modules. An image-based transaction system includes a mobile device with an image sensor that is programmed to capture, via the image sensor, a video stream of a scene. The mobile device identifies a document using image characteristics from the video stream and acquires an image of at least a part of the document, and then identifies symbols in the image based on locations within the image of the document. The symbols can include alphanumeric symbols. The mobile device processes the symbols according to their type to obtain an address related to the document and the symbols and initiates a transaction associated with the identified document.
Stranded asset management in customer service call centers
A method, system and computer-readable storage medium provide for managing stranded assets of a customer service call center. The system includes an interface component that identifies an opportunity event of an established customer service session initiated by a user that is in a waiting queue for a customer service representative. The system includes an ingestion component that ingests one or more characteristics of the opportunity event that characterize at least one of: (i) the identity of the user; (ii) subject of the established customer service session; and (iii) situational context of the user. The system includes a correlation component that correlates the one or more ingested characteristics and an estimated duration of the waiting queue with at least one transaction-related content item. The system includes a publishing component that publishes a selected transaction-related content item via the established customer service session to the user while in the waiting queue.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OPTING-OUT OF TARGETED ADVERTISING IN AN ONLINE ADVERTISING ENVIRONMENT
Systems and methods are disclosed for opting-out of targeted advertising in online advertising environments. One method includes receiving an opt-out verification request, the opt-out verification including an IP address of a user device and HTTP header fields of an HTTP request of the user device; determining a geographic area of the user device based on the IP address of the user device; accessing an opt-out database having entries of user devices that opted-out of receiving targeted advertising based on at least one HTTP header field of the HTTP request; determining whether the user device has opted-out of receiving targeted advertising based on the determined geographic area of the user device, the HTTP header fields of the HTTP quest, and the entries of user devices of the opt-out database; and transmitting a verification acknowledgement when the user device is determined to have opted-out of receiving targeted advertising.
CONTENT DISPLAY SYSTEM AND DISPLAY DEVICE
The content display system of the present invention includes: a first controller which displays content on a display; a second controller which receives a voice; a third controller which generates a command corresponding to the voice received by the second controller, and determines whether the generated command is a change command to change first content being displayed on the display; and a fourth controller which distributes, to the first controller, second content corresponding to the change command when the third controller determines that the command is the change command. The first controller changes a material being displayed on the display from the first content to the second content distributed by the fourth controller.

Described herein are methods and systems allowing a company to market and advertise its brands, products and/or services in a mobile platform by use of an application converting a user input into a corresponding branded icon, logo or image and displaying the same. The user input is in the form of a text entry from the device keyboard, e.g., a brand name or a generic search word, or a voice or sound input or audio demand from the device speaker. By providing various menu functions associated with the displayed icons, logos or images, the application combines mobile texting with online search or browsing to provide for a much simpler and more convenient mobile experience.

A customer uses a mobile device to verbally request an offer that includes an incentive to transact at a merchant's brick and mortar store in the customer's local community in exchange for the merchant's agreement to make an auditable donation to a charity serving the local community. Business rules limit the merchant's charitable donations over calendar periods, which donations can be made directly by the merchant to the community charity, or indirectly to the charity by way of a blind donation made by the merchant to a donation disbursement agency acting on the merchant's behalf to satisfy the merchant's commitment to donate.
