Adjusting the display of social media updates to varying degrees of richness based on environmental conditions and importance of the update
A method, system and computer program product for adjusting a display of social media updates to varying degrees of richness. A level of importance for each social media update is identified and assigned to the update. The importance of the social media update can be defined by various aspects, such as topics or people of interest to the user. Furthermore, a current condition of a user's environment (e.g., current workload of the user) is determined. The social media updates are then displayed in a social networking feed with a particular degree of richness at a particular location based on the level of importance of the social media updates, the current condition of the user's environment, and/or the user's interactions with existing updates currently displayed. In this manner, the amount of time required by the user to determine which updates are important to the user is reduced.
System and method of providing information based on street address
A system and method is provided that infers a user's intent when the user searches for a particular address or other geographic location. In that regard, the system and method may select advertisements in response to a user searching for street addresses. The advertisements may be selected by searching for advertisements that match search terms associated with the street address. If no search terms are associated with the street address, the system and method may determine whether the street address is associated with a point of interest. If the address is associated with a point of interest, the name of the point of interest may be utilized as the search term.
SHOPPING INCENTIVE APPLICATION
A shopping incentive and discount system and method for consumers including: a processing system, where the processing system includes a database, memory and a processor; software residing of the memory of the processing system, wherein the software enables functions related to the shopping incentive and discount system; and a portable computing device, where a user utilizes the portable computing device to access the shopping incentive and discount system. The functions available through the shopping incentive and discount system may include coupon retrieval, prize contests, rewards system, winning number generation and interactive features. The shopping incentive and discount system preferably includes downloadable interactive software for consumer users.
User terminal and control method thereof
An embodiment user terminal includes an image acquisition part, a user interface configured to display an image photographed through the image acquisition part, a position detection sensor configured to detect a position of the user terminal, and a controller configured to determine a recommended point of interest (POI) among a plurality of POIs located around the user terminal, based on operation information about each of the plurality of POIs, a user's search history for a POI, and the user's POI scrap, and to control the user interface to display an augmented reality (AR) image corresponding to the recommended POI by superimposing the AR image on the image photographed through the image acquisition part.
APPARATUS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CREATING, ACTIVATING, DISPLAYING IN A COMPUTER DISPLAY, AND INTERACTING WITH, A VIRTUAL THREE-DIMENSIONAL DIGITAL ANALOG TO TRADITIONAL PHYSICAL SHOPPING IN A PHYSICAL MARKETPLACE
Disclosed herein are exemplary apparatus, systems and methods for creating, displaying in a computer display, activating and interacting with a shared, interactive shopping session between at least one computer user and at least one persistent, visually traversable, interactive, persistent, virtual three-dimensional space, wherein said virtual three-dimensional space may comprise a virtual three-dimensional store, a virtual three-dimensional mall or other virtual three-dimensional shopping space. Further disclosed herein is an automatic foreign language translator that would cross-translate cross-communications between a plurality of virtual shoppers virtually shopping at a particular exemplary virtual shopping space at a particular time. Further disclosed herein is an exemplary fragrance emitting device that would receive instructions from a user's computer device, that would receive fragrance emitting instructions generated by an exemplary virtual shopping space embodiment of the present invention according to a virtual location of an exemplary online shopping user in the virtual shopping space.
Information mapping approaches
Methods, systems and applications for updating, enhancing, organizing, and utilizing geographic maps, for locating points of interest and places of businesses, or POI's. Embodiments provide a method for collecting geo-coordinate data on POIs by eliciting participation of the business owners or designated employees to identify the specific locations of POI's on a map; a map program which synchronizes to a centralized database where POI and other more frequently changing and time-dependent map information is downloaded to individual users; a map program, where in addition to the standard contact information, qualitative information and website links are included in an POI information box to aid in pre-qualifying a POI before selection and in booking a reservation; a method for locating markers on an Internet-based search engine map; and an improved contact management system that allows locations of contacts to be viewed on a map while minimizing address geocoding.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING REAL-TIME AVAILABLE CAPACITY OF A MERCHANT
Systems and methods of determining real-time available capacity of a merchant are provided. A plurality of financial transactions involving the merchant can be received during a current time period. A current payment velocity of the financial transactions involving the merchant during the current time period can be determined. The current payment velocity can be compared with a baseline payment velocity associated with financial transactions involving the merchant during a corresponding historical time period. An available capacity of the merchant can be determined, based on a difference between the current payment velocity and the baseline payment velocity.
Attention Spots in a Map Interface
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing content items based on a location of a user's attention in a map interface. In one aspect, a method includes receiving data specifying one or more map attention spots in a viewport of a map interface presented at a user device. Each map attention spot is a location on a map of the map interface corresponding to a specified amount of user activity. Content items are identified for presentation with the map. For each content item and map attention spot, a distance between a presentation location for the content item on the map and a location of the identified map attention spot on the map is determined. A rank score for the content item based at least on a respective content item score for the content item and each determined distance for the content item.
Systems and Methods for Detection of Navigation to Physical Venue and Suggestion of Alternative Actions
The techniques, methods, systems, and other mechanisms described herein include processes for determining if customized content should be generated, what information to include in the customized content, and when to provide the customized content. In general, a computing system determines that a user intends to travel to a physical venue. The computing system can determine if an entity associated with the physical venue has a web page. The computing system can determine various aspects of a predicted route of travel from the user's present location to the physical venue. The computing system can use location information indicating the user's current location and determine one or more routes of travel to the physical venue. The computing system can compare one or more determined aspects of the predicted route to threshold values to determine if customized content should be generated and presented to the user.
Location-based transmissions using a mobile communication device
According to one method, a mobile communication device determines its location and compares its location to a location associated with an automation system. If the location of the mobile communication device matches the location associated with the automation system, the mobile communication device transmits a command to the automation system. According to another method, a mobile communication device determines if it has entered wireless communication range of an automation system and determines if it has exited wireless communication range of an automation system. In response to determining if the mobile communication device has entered wireless communication range of an automation system, the mobile communication device transmits a first command from to the automation system. In response to determining if the mobile communication device has exited wireless communication range of an automation system, mobile communication device transmits a second command to the automation system.
