For example, the system may monitor a location, such as New York City or Times Square, to determine popular media assets watched there, such as “The Avengers,” and when another user visits New York City, the system may then notify the user that the movie, such as “The Avengers,” is associated with New York City. The system stores the geographic locations associated with the media asset in the database based on the consumption of the media asset so that other users may be notified which media assets are associated with each geographic location.

Based at least on determining a predicted shortage of active delivery agents for the upcoming time period, the processor selects a first delivery agent of the plurality of delivery agents to pick up a first order from a first pickup location of a first merchant and a second order from a second pickup location of a second merchant, and sends a message to a first delivery agent device associated with the first delivery agent.

Systems and methods are provided herein for displaying recommendations that are temporally relevant to activities of a user and are contextually relevant to a portion of viewed media. This may be accomplished by a media guidance application identifying activities a user has planned, as well as respective times for which each of the plurality of activities was planned to be performed by the user. The media guidance application may filter the activities by determining which of the first plurality of activities has a corresponding respective time that is within a threshold period of time. The media guidance application may then identify characteristics of each filtered activity and of a media asset that the user is consuming at the present moment, and may compute whether the characteristics match. If the characteristics match, the media guidance application may generate for display a recommendation relating to the respective activity.

The input may include a request to generate the promotion campaign, a merchant preference, or other information shared between the merchant and the promotion server. The promotion campaign may include promotions, such as coupons, discounts, or the like, to encourage transactions with a merchant. The promotions may be generated based on merchant specified criteria, a merchant transaction history, customer preferences, a customer transaction history, and/or other information processed by the promotion server. The promotions of the promotion campaign may be distributed via one or more channels, such as electronic mail, website publication, receipts, etc. Each promotion of the promotion campaign may be linked to a particular customer, thereby limiting the number of times a particular customer can take advantage of the promotion campaign.
