Systems and methods for providing updatable roadway codes are described. One embodiment of a method includes locating a roadway code along a roadway and determining stored data provided by the roadway code. Some embodiments include providing at least a portion of the stored data to the user and capturing environmental data along the roadway, where the environmental data corresponds with the stored data. Still some embodiments include comparing the stored data with the environmental data to determine whether the stored data is accurate and in response to determining that the stored data is not accurate, providing a communication to update the stored data.
Methods and systems for electric vehicle (EV) charging and cloud remote access and user notifications
Systems and methods for charging an electric battery of a vehicle are provided. The vehicle includes a battery for powering an electric motor of the vehicle. A controller of the vehicle is provided to interface with a battery and to enable control of charging of the battery. The vehicle includes a communications interface for enabling wireless communication with a server, and the server is configured to manage a plurality of user accounts for users. The server is one of a plurality of servers, and the servers providing access to cloud services regarding vehicle use and metrics.
Advertising and entertainment system and method for vehicle occupants
A method and system of providing advertising to a moving target vehicle. At least one sensor device coupled to a moving advertising vehicle detecting a parameter associated with the moving target vehicle. The detected parameter is received by a global positioning system (GPS) device. Advertising content data pertaining to a topic associated with identification data is obtained. The topic was determined from matching identification data associated with the detected parameter to advertising correlation data. The identification data was determined from matching the detected parameter to data in a personal database. Vehicle data is determined by the at least one sensor device and/or the GPS device in the advertising vehicle. Display of the advertising content data is initiated on a display device in the advertising vehicle to display the advertising content data to the target vehicle according to at least one display parameter that is based on the vehicle data.

Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure includes a system to create, modify, and maintain profiles associated with users. The user profiles are generated based on selectively collecting data associated with the users. Although each user profile may include settings, preferences, habits, and content associated with an individual user and/or vehicle, some user profiles may represent multiple users. These user profiles can change a configuration of a vehicle to match settings for a user, such as a driver and/or passenger. The configurations may also include the recognition of a unique set of gestures for a user. Further, the user profiles can be transferred from vehicle-to-vehicle and/or user-to-user.

Electronic digital display systems, including roadside display devices, vehicle-based devices, personal mobile devices, intermediary servers, advertising servers, and/or additional external data sources may operate individually or in combination to identify one or more vehicle locations, driving routes, driver and passenger characteristics, and the like. Vehicle and individual characteristics may be determined based on data received from traffic cameras, vehicle-based devices, personal mobile devices, and/or other data sources. A system for interacting with digital signage, includes an identification module to identify, at an onboard system in a vehicle, a first roadside digital signage, the first roadside digital signage having first content; a communication module to receive a first option to perform a first action related to the first content; and a presentation module to display the first option via the onboard system.

The present invention relates to an autonomous vehicle and an autonomous vehicle system having the same. The autonomous vehicle according to the present invention comprises: a plurality of cameras; a radar; a communication unit; a display; an audio output unit; and a processor which, in an autonomous driving mode, controls the autonomous vehicle so as to select any one of a plurality of routes toward a destination and perform autonomous driving along the selected route, to receive advertisement information from the outside when driving along the selected route, and to output the received advertisement information through at least one of a display or an audio output unit, the received advertisement information being variable for each of the plurality of routes. Due to this feature, it is possible to provide different advertisements for each route to the destination during autonomous driving.

The vehicle control system/method for adapting a control function based on a user profile may comprise: a gesture recognition module; a user profile module; a function control module; a processor; a non-transitory storage element coupled to the processor; encoded instructions stored in the non-transitory storage element, wherein the encoded instructions when implemented by the processor, configure the system to: identify a user; retrieve a user profile for the identified user; receive at a gesture recognition module, an input indicating a gesture from the user; identify a control function request corresponding to the gesture input; send a verification of the control function request; and receive at a function control module characteristics parsed from the user profile that effect the control function request by the user profile module to adapt a control function command for an adapted control function output by the function control module.
