Endorsing a product purchased offline
An endorsement application can allow a user to endorse a product on a social network website when the product is purchased at a physical merchant point of sale terminal. Users of social network websites have been given the opportunity to endorse products that they have located or purchased online, but purchasers of products in person have not had that opportunity. The endorsement application can operate on a user's mobile device and can recognize a product purchased through near field or other communication using the mobile device. The application can isolate the product identification and product marketing data supplied by the point of sale terminal or other source and offer the user the opportunity to endorse the product on a social network website. If the user endorses the product, the application sends the endorsement to the user's account on the social network website for display to the user's community.
Systems and methods for delivering content to mobile devices
At least some aspects of the present disclosure feature systems and methods for delivering content to a mobile device. In one embodiment, the system receives location information of the mobile device and determines a response duration. The system selects a content piece to deliver to the mobile device based on information regarding content comparisons or experimental units.
Visual trigger in packaging
A contact lens package includes a first package layer and a second package layer joined to the first package layer at an edge of the first package layer. The first package layer and the second package layer collectively define, at least in part, a cavity and a contact lens is disposed within the cavity. A visual trigger is depicted on either the first package layer or the second package layer, and the visual trigger is identifiable by a mobile device to be associated with an executable file.
Object detection and identification
An embodiment of the invention may include a method, computer program product and computer system for object detection and identification. The method, computer program product and computer system may include computing device which may receive an image from a user device. The image may be a screenshot captured by the user device from a display. The computing device may classify the image based on features present in the image and detect a salient object contained within the image. The computing device may identify the object in the image and one or more sources of the object in the image.
ADVERTISING FOR A USER DEVICE IN A STANDBY MODE
A method includes making a determination at a user device to transition the user device to a standby mode. The method includes sending a message from the user device to a server of a service provider in response to the determination, where the service provider provides a service to the user device. The method includes receiving, in response to the message, a content stream at the user device. The method includes sending video content generated from the content stream to a display device while the user device is in the standby mode. The method also includes, in response to a time in the standby mode exceeding a threshold, transmitting a second message to the server from the user device. In response to the second message, receipt of the content stream ceases.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SELECTIVELY COMMUNICATING WITH MOBILE DEVICES
There is provided a computer-implemented method of selectively communicating with mobile devices. At each of a plurality of mobile devices, a travel mode between a plurality of locations is determined in dependence on one or both of: one or more sensors associated with each respective mobile device, and wireless location signals received at the mobile device. At each mobile device, at least some of the plurality of locations are selected as significant locations associated with a user of the respective mobile device. Each significant location is a location at which the user resides for extended durations of time. Each mobile device communicates to a server computer an identifier associated with each mobile device, a generalised identifier associated with each significant location and an indication of the travel mode to the significant location. At the server computer, a set of mobile devices is selected in dependence on one or more points of interest in a geographic region proximal to one or more of the significant locations associated with each mobile device. Data is communicated to the set of mobile devices.
SYSTEM, APPARATUS, METHOD, AND USER INTERFACE CONFIGURED FOR TRANSMISSION OF DATA VIA A WIRELESS AD-HOC NETWORK
A system and related devices and methods facilitating sharing of a promotion between a first device and a second device are disclosed herein. An exemplary system may comprise a first device and a second device. An exemplary first device may comprise processing circuitry configured to display one or more promotions, receive a selection of at least one promotion, a selection of at least one second device, the second device within a predetermined proximity, and an indication to transmit the at least one promotion to the at least one second device, and transmit wirelessly the at least one promotion to the at least one second device. A second device may comprise processing circuitry configured to receive a notification indicating that the first device is sharing a promotion, display an indication indicating reception of the notification, receive a selection of an acceptance of the promotion, and display the promotion.
Systems and methods for transmitting establishment information
A computing system is configured to receive location data from a wireless device of a user. Upon receiving a search request from the wireless device, the computing system utilizes the location data to determine one or more likely travel routes of the user of the wireless device. In response to the search request, the computing system may select one or more establishments based on the likely travel routes and location data associated with the one or more establishments. The computing system may further transmit to the wireless device information associated with the selected one or more establishments.
Method and system for mobile banking using a non-browser based application
A method and system for conducting an online payment transaction through a point of sale device. The method includes receiving input from a user selecting an item for purchase through the point of sale device; calculating a total purchase amount for the item in response to a request from the user to purchase the item; and sending payment authorization for the total purchase amount from the point of sale device to a payment entity, in which the payment authorization is sent to the payment entity via a mobile communication device of the user. The method further includes receiving a result of the payment authorization from the payment entity through the mobile communication device; and completing the payment transaction based on the result of the payment authorization.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING AN INTEREST IN PROMOTIONAL CONTENT DISPLAYED AT A MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE
Determining interest in promotional content to be displayed at a mobile communication device is described. The promotional content, including a first portion that is visible and a second portion that is hidden in a first state, may be received. The first and second portions are each selectable only when visible. A promotional display that includes the promotional content in the first state is generated. Upon receipt of a first input from the user in relation to the first portion, the promotional content may be transitioned from the first state to a second state such the first portion becomes hidden and the second portion becomes visible. Upon failing to receive a second input from the user in relation to the second portion, the promotional content may be transitioned from the second state to the first state. Upon receipt of the second input, an interest in the promotional content may be indicated.
